Home of the harry buffalo, underground, cool karaoke, great food, cool staff, I usually always have an interesting time when I step foot in there, they've lightened up on their notorious over checking for ID's since my beards grown but couple years ago they wouldn't even let my homeboy get in because all he had was a crumpled up torn white paper to show his ID was on its way, seemed excessive to refuse our entry even after I pulled his black card out, no exceptions for not bringing your identification here lol my friend even got 86'd from the place shortly after for a situation I'm not elaborating about but they've got the best music in town and its an epic place that i keep seeing familiar faces, prime corner spot on 5th and West St Germaine. I've been hear a couple times now. The menu was shaved like it's hairy buffalo drink. Basically a burger bar now with a couple extra items. No more free pretzels either. Darn COVID!! Service is still good and I received my food in under 15 minutes. The portions were still fairly good for the price. I ordered the Italian beef. It was tasty but a bit skimpy. Still a good value just not what I expected. Waffle fries are still worth the upcharge. I did try the apple crisp which I rarely do, order dessert. Save your money. Ambiance is good. I am going out on a limb and guessing that a lot of locals don't realize the chef at MC's is pretty damn good at what he does, including ensuring that the menu here routinely changes to accommodate unique tastes. It's as frustrating as it is refreshing, because I've eaten things here that should, in my opinion, be a mainstay. At any rate, there are some really nice things to eat, like beer-battered chicken or fish, poutine, homemade salt and vinegar chips, and smoked turkey leg. They have a range of nice burger options, and a lot of the staples you'd expect of a bar and grill. I was told that the only thing not made fresh in-house was the ranch dressing. MC's is one of the hybrid bars (akin to White Horse and Pickled Loon) in downtown Cloud that act as nice restaurants during the day, and popular drinking holes at night. Most people probably know them for their "buffaloes", cocktails laden with multiple liquors, effective at making you feel good, if that's your aim. But it's actually a nice place to relax, too, even though it gets relatively busy on weekend evenings. There are several dart boards, a couple of arcade games, and don't forget about weekly trivia on Wednesdays and Thursdays. And during Husky hockey season, MC's runs free shuttles to and from the game, a nice bonus if you ask me. The other thing that makes this place worth visiting is their weekly specials. Each day there is something to reward visiting patrons, the highlight being their excellent, free (so long as you buy at least a drink) taco bar. Don't think cheap and skimpy like most others do. This is a legit taco bar that would fill up even the most prolific eaters. It probably deserves another half star, and likely five if you're rating it on food alone. But go try this place out if you haven't. If you want a nice meal, go early. If you want a fun night out and good drinks, wait till a bit later. Either way, it's likely to impress. Addendum: DO NOT! eat here when it's busy. Terrible service is the only thing you can expect. Wrong orders, very long wait times, hit or miss for the correct bill. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the food and place very much, but it's not equipped to handle large crowds. read more

We stopped in during Happy Hour ($1.00 off all drinks) and we all decided to try different versions of their signature "Bufffalo" drinks. Whether you get the Hairy, Shaved, or Tropical Buffalo, you'll feel it for sure. These drinks are on the sweeter side and they pack a punch that you won't see coming. The special was Pork Belly Tacos and I devoured it. The pork belly was tender and savory. Even the tortillas (which are red) were delicious. Thin and crispy with a spicy kick. It was a beautiful creation. We paired it with waffle fries for a side, and I was one happy customer. Fun fact: They have a free little appetizer bar during Happy Hour, so when that's available, you can try food like, chicken wings, potatoes, and mac & cheese. This place looked nice from the outside. I stopped in for dinner after a long drive. I saw from the reviews it was pretty good. My experience was far from good. I sat and the bartender was spot on at first.There was maybe four people in the establishment. I ordered a braised beef sandwich and it came out pretty fast. The sandwich was ok but nothing to write home about. The issue I ran into was the bartender. He spent the entire dinner talking to another guy at the bar about their college days or something. I finished my beer but he never returned. I finished dinner before he came back to see if I needed anything. They were pretty rude and lots of profanity. MC's Dugout is a quarter century old fixture of St. Cloud night life. It's in the basement of a beautiful, historic brick building right smack downtown. It's also my kinda joint, as it is a little dark, and smells like old building. They really dolled up the ol' coal vault, making it into a warm, welcoming, Viking version of the Cheers bar. It's worth it to just stop in for a look. So my buddy and I hobble our old bones down the stairs and grab a hightop near the bar. Our waitress/bartender was Jessie, and she was as friendly as a summer sunset. She had a great attitude and a great smile, as if she invented the concept, herself. What more can you ask for when welcomed as a guest? Nothin'. It''s a good vibe, man. I normally pick a burger when I try a place out. You learn the truth when you get a burger. But, the menu had a Cubano, which is a sandwich with high potential. I had to go with a little Miami flavor. You know how it is. I have to say that, compared to a Key West Cubano, it lacked adventure. But, this is the Midwest, and they ain't exactly up to speed on gusto. No sweat. It was still delicious. Three stars? I was visiting friends and they decided this is where we would go for dinner. I ordered a bloody mary and it was good, a little too spicy for my liking but that happens. I saw on the menu a Peanut Butter and JJ burger and was like "Gross!". My friends boyfriend confessed that was his favorite thing on the menu, and my interest was peaked. Could it be good? It was a hamburger on a brioche bun with peanut butter, jalapeno jelly, bacon and onion. I ordered it with waffle fries. I threw caution to the wind because if I didn't like it, at least I tried. I LOVED it. It was everything I never knew I wanted. It was obviously meaty but also sweet, spicy and rich. I would compare the flavors to a Thai peanut because of the jalapeno jelly, and as I mentioned I don't like spicy. It was so amazing, I had to share with others who were skeptics and they all said "I wish I would have gotten that!" although they liked their food too. First of all, don't come to the meat raffle because you will mess with my chances to get some amazing local meat in a perfect meat raffle atmosphere. Tonight we had the buffalo chicken wontons. They were the perfect amount of heat and buffalo flavor. I had the walleye basket and my wife ordered the club. We can't cook so we eat out a lot and this was amazing. This is one of my favorite downtown bars. Its not dark and dirty like a lot of the other ones. Its always clean and very fun for watching sporting events. The Hairy Buffalos are spendy but delicious.
