My last review to B Nutritious was 5 years ago and it was very short with no information, so here am I with an update. My family and I have been big fans of this place since day one. We are returning customers and I'll tell you why.... Food: Meals are always made to order and with the freshest ingredients. I can place my order online or over the phone a day before or even sometimes within the hour of the same day. With placing my food orders in advance I still know it will be made fresh to order. I can say I've tried majority of the meals on the menu and I have not been disappointed. Everything is cooked to perfection with tons of healthy delicious flavors. FYI my FAV is the Peanut Chicken Bowl, give it a try ;) They also carry a few extra things in the restaurants like cold drinks and some healthy dessert (for the sweet tooth Service: Ordering online is extremely easy and very straight forward, I've done it a hand full of times. I feel like it's very well explained and you click on exactly what you want in your meals. I also don't mind calling in my orders, the staff is always friendly and helpful. Parking is Easy! I ordered the nutritious b salad that had chicken and shrimp and $1 ice tea with meal. They ran out of avocado which is a premium item so he gave me more tomatoes instead? I didn't even notice more and tomatoes don't have the same value as avocados so he should have gave me a couple bucks back instead. I didn't like the shrimp had the tails on them and made it hard to eat and the ice tea was nasty! I couldn't drink it and had to throw it out. I won't be coming here again, this is a fail for a food prep style place... read more

Came when they first opened & always enjoyed their meals & they also offer meal preps for the week. They have many options & usually have other products to offer like juices or protein snacks. I usually call in to just pick up the order. The staff is always helpful & never had a problem here. It is a little pricier than some places but for what you're getting & taste it's not bad bowls go for $13-15 Definitely come here at least once a week read more

This is basically a healthy food take on standard Asian meals. I can tell with the way they portion out the food and meat that the menu is designed to be conscious of one's macronutrient intake. Taste-wise the food is not bad. I got the peanut chicken and orange chicken. At first I liked the orange chicken better, but then I realized it's because the peanut chicken sauce wasn't well dispersed. Price is very reasonable although you'll have to pay more for brown rice and vegetables. This could become a regular lunch option for me given the price and a desire to eat healthier. Interior is super clean, and you can find parking on the street. read more

This is my 1st visit in over 5 years and I have to say I was very disappointed. For starters the location was definitely clean and the employee who rung me up was nice and patiently answered my questions but unfortunately to much surprise he couldn't tell me the macros for the meal I was ordering or any meal ! What?! Even pollo loco can give you the exact macros for a meal' this is a meal prep place! I would assume People who come here are vested in meals , what there consuming and that involves macros! I've gone to many other macro places and that information is always available. They do have a "general" break down but not per meal and the cashier himself said it wasn't so accurate . First major disappointment. Flavor was decent, for being healthy I would rate a 6/10 . Biggest misconception is that healthy food tastes bland, I've had meal prep that's full of flavor this wasn't it. I paid $14 and change, I def was full. Chicken was tender but the flavor was very very bland. Even for a meal prep. To sum up: if I was in the area again and wanted a lighter lunch I might swing by for the sake of eating healthier . If they had the macros available I would definitely be back! That would for sure be a game changer! read more

Reasonably priced option for a really macro friendly meal.I got the steak and it was a bit bland but there are lots of other plates that look really good and I will definitely be back to try. Initially, I was skeptical of this place as I can meal prep myself, and I thought it was silly to order something so simple. However, years went by and I've seen this place blossom and continue to expand, and I finally had my biggest nightmare--I forgot to bring my meal prep to work. As this place had always been on my mind, I took this opportunity to try it out. I had ground turkey, which was so soft, flavorful, and perfectly cooked that I had to wonder how on earth anyone could make dry turkey taste so darn good. Their broccoli and asparagus were also cooked on point, with just a bit of crunch to create texture. Even their hot sauce was on point, and I completely destroyed the meal within 5 minutes. Want something healthy? This is the place for you. You can build your meal by choosing the following items, carb, veggie, and protein. They also serve salads and house favorite meals. ::Drinks:: I've tried the Strawberry & Banana and Strawberry shake. You can taste the protein but it's drinkable. ::Food:: Your order is placed in a microwavable plastic container, whether you are dining in or ordering food to go. The container is reusable. At first, I felt the food was too simple and could easily be cooked at home but with a busy schedule and wanting to eat healthy; I appreciated the meal. All of their food has very little seasoning. B Nutritious is focused on healthy meals. I was skeptical at first hearing the name because I automatically assumed they would only have salads. You can build your own bowl with your choice of carbs, choice of veggie, and one choice of cooked proteins. The choice of carbs include brown rice, jasmine rice, potatoes, and sweet potatoes. The choice of veggie include broccoli, asparagus, spinach, green beans, and cabbage. The choices of proteins include chicken, ground beef, steak, ground turkey, pork chop, tilapia, salmon, shrimp, and tofu. Each cooked protein has it's own set price which could range anywhere from $8.50 to $13.75. If you don't want to build your own bowl, you can order salad or house favorites. Some of the house favorites include dishes like chow mein, pineapple fried rice, teriyaki chicken, tangy shrimp, and orange chicken. They also have meal plans. By the way, they don't have soda here so if you're like me who needs carbonated beverages with food then you're out of luck. I ordered a Peanut Chicken Bowl. Lots of chicken pieces. The chicken pieces were packed with peanut flavor. Some of the chicken pieces were chewy and some of the chicken pieces were tender. The white rice was a bit crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They say they use jasmine rice but what I had didn't seem like it was jasmine rice. It wasn't fragrant and the texture and shape were off. The peanut sauce had saved the rice though as it made the texture softer. The peanut sauce was delicious, reminded me of the peanut sauce they use for Thai satay. The service was great. The cashiers were engaging, warm, and friendly. The restaurant is large and spacious. Very clean and well-ventilated. There's two televisions on opposite corners of the restaurant. I enjoyed the Peanut Chicken Bowl despite some mishaps. Hopefully they will cook the rice better and that more of the chicken pieces would be tender. I'll be back for another visit. read more

I've been coming here for about two years now and the food is always FRESH. Customer service is also amazing, whenever they've made a mistake (hardly ever) on my meal prep orders, they will remake it and own up to it without hesitations. Staff is very attentive and friendly. I'm happy a healthy food service option opened up in El Monte and I hope they continue to grow. Order: chicken breast, asparagus, and potatoes I'm a pretty lazy person when it comes to cooking. For convenience this location can do local pickup meals for your workout routine. I am a little upset at the portions though. Not enough of everything. I understand chicken breast is commonly dry when cooked, but it seems too dry and overcompensated with seasoning. Price is slightly higher than I expect but I think it's fair since inflation. I think they're trying to get you into their meal plans that would save you a bit (not a lot) of money. So I'm just taste testing their menu for now. After some more time with their menu, I may change my review. Probably just a bad first meal experience. read more

The looks from the outside doesn't seem much, but when you walk in, it's a completely different environment. I love the outdoorsy/picnic vibe. Employees were extremely helpful!! Way too plain for the price. Veggie pot stickers literally have almost to no veggies in them. Not stuffed proportionally at all. I almost not wanted to eat them and ask for a refund. Horrible. Orange chicken with jasmine rice was decent, but I can totally make this at home. Not worth a $30 lunch for one person. Won't be back. Please open up here, Bryan. I love this concept- not just a meal prep service where you order a certain amount of meals, pay, and have it picked up or delivered. BTW, congratulations for partnering up w/ Kaiser Permanente. For those that are lazy to cook, don't know how to cook, or don't have time to cook, this place is for you. Lucky SoCal folks... I was in awe the second I stepped in. You can build your own (carbs, protein, vegetables) or you can select their meals (peanut chicken bowl, salads, teriyaki chicken bowl, pineapple fried rice, house noodles, etc.). I bought it on Friday and ate Monday. The chicken was starting to lose its tenderness but it was my fault for waiting 3 days to eat it. I didn't want to put myself on a caloric deficit during a vacation but anyway... the winner was the peanut chicken bowl and my ground turkey, cabbage, and roasted potatoes bowl (I built my own), My least favorite is the chicken teriyaki. It's always hard to find restaurants that serve clean, healthy, and delicious food. So glad I found B Nutritious and another plus is that they are located very close to where I work. What I love about this restaurant is the ability to customize what you're feeling for lunch/dinner that day. Or you can go with some of their house favorites, which are amazingly delicious! I am a peanut lover so it was not surprisingly that I fell in love with their peanut chicken bowl. The peanut sauce that they make is hands down the best I had and it has a slight kick of spicy. It definitely adds a lot of flavor to the chicken and rice. I usually build my own bowl and have tried most of their carbs, veggies, and protein choices. With over 50+ different combinations that you can put together, my go to is sweet potatoes with broccoli and salmon. I believe they use a salmon filet and its cooked the way I like it. It is very crispy on the outside and they use a garlic herb rub which makes every bite so flavorful. The salmon is moist which is a huge plus for me because I don't like overcooked dried salmon. Every time I eat a meal here, I never feel groggy or have that heavy feeling in my stomach from eating a meal at other restaurants. Another cool thing I have yet to try is that they do meal preps for you. So if you don't have time to make healthy, clean, delicious food, B Nutritious is your lifeline. Parking: Parking lot is decent in the back is decent, but I usually opt for street parking. Just pay attention to signs for street cleaning. read more

Hi Kenny, none of our plates come with added sugar. As for sodium, most of our build your own meals have no sodium besides the porkchop. We can also opt out on the seasoning upon request.
