B.M. Chen was recommended by a friend and we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered the shrimp with walnuts, shrimp fried rice, and spring rolls. Soup came with the meal, I had the wonton and my husband had the egg drop. The food was very fresh and authenic. We will return. They have a very extended menu. This restaurant is located across the street from Reynolds Garden Cafe on Reynolds. Slow down so you don't miss it. The people are very pleasant, service was just as pleasant. The food was fresh, flavorful and absolutely delicious! We had the General Tso's chicken, the Walnut Shrimp, & the fried rice--all were tasty! The portions were quite generous and a cup of soup came with the meals. The staff were extremely nice/efficient. Do to the VERY affordable price of the meal, we left them a 50% tip! Husband and I tried this place last night as a new Chinese restaurant for us. As much as we enjoyed each other's company and time together, we did not care for the food. Everything was bland. We had the egg drop and wonton soup (water with floaters), egg rolls (good size - but that was the only positive), and general tsou and almond boneless chicken. Good but not great. Had General Tso's Chicken luncheon portion. The addition of green peppers I thought would ruin the dish. I quickly plucked them out and there was no harm done. I've never had green pepper in General Tso's chicken before. Egg roll was soggy from the sauce from the chicken. Generally tasty, will try again with something else. Please don't use styrofoam containers. I know they're cheaper but they play havoc on the environment. read more

Went over to B.M. Chens because it is right across the street from house. I have been waiting for this place to open since they put there sign up letting people know they were opening soon. I decided tonight to start small in portion and order something I usually wouldn't. If the food was not up to par I wouldn't feel bad not finishing the item and I thought if I order something different than what I usually would order and liked it, I might have a winner of a Chinese restaurant. On my hands. Well ladies and gents we have a winner. I ordered the BBQ pork rice noodle soup for 5$ and change. It was fantastic pork tender rice noodles perfect vegetables fresh. The broth which I can't explain because I am not a professional was so flavorful . The dish gave me a feeling of satisfaction. It seemed to fill that good Chinese restaurant void in my soul. The service was really good too. It was super hot today and the young lady working must have noticed that I was flushed with the weather because she offered me a cold drink. Very clean inside and the decor is minimal not busy with a alot of color and clutter I guess the folks at B.M. Chen's have such confidence in the quality of their food they have no reason to distract you from what is on your plate. This restaurant would be good for a first date, not so much for a last date, it's a peaceful quite place. Anyways you should go try something new. Had lunch here, great deal for the money! I had the General Tso's Chicken. It comes with soup, egg roll & tea/coffee. They have chicken noodle soup for those who don't want Chinese soup. An iced tea will only cost you 75 cents. Soft drinks are $1.50. The food was great and was a perfect portion for lunch. Would definitely recommend you try this. I stopped by because friends were there, and sampled two of the dishes they'd ordered. I didn't see the names on the menu, but I'm sure you could track these down: 1. Lamb with cumin and red peppers 2. A vegetable much like bok choy but not bok choy, with ginger and garlic Both of these were DELICIOUS. I'm eager to go back as soon as possible to have the same dishes and try others. The friends also had a szechuan beef with a lot of spicy broth that they reported was excellent. I made a reservation for a party of eight based solely on the reviews on Yelp. We were seated immediately but no one came to take our order for a long time. We were there 70 minutes before our food arrived, after complaining about the wait time. There were few people seated when we arrived at 5:25 but there seemed to be a lot of to-go orders. We would have overlooked the wait time if the food had been good but nobody was impressed with their meal. I had chicken with mixed vegetables and most of the chicken pieces tasted old, as though they had been heated and reheated several times. We also waited a long time for our bill and finally had to ask another waitress for it. She asked someone else to bring us our tabs, which were just sitting there waiting to be brought over. Went here for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised! There are not very many places in the Toledo area for authentic Chinese cuisine. The portions are huge and the wait staff is very conscientious and informative when it comes to the menu items. The owner was very nice and even took the time to come over to our table and assist us in making a selection. The interior of the restaurant was very well kept and extremely clean. I would defiantly recommend the hot and sour soup which easily can accommodate 2 or 3 people. The seafood was very fresh and the prices were reasonable. I have ate here 6 or 7 times and have been impressed every time! Their crab rangoon is fresh on the spot as are their eggrolls/ springrolls. I'm not usually a fan of lamb, but the basil lamb is quite good. The almond and cashew chicken are great! I just cannot say enough about this place, give it a shot! read more

Had the fish in spicy soup. Excellent. The Peking Pork is very good as well. Staff is friendly and helpful.
