I had to wait a little longer than usual due to covid but overall I'm happy with the work.

A dear friend recommended I visit Martin (the owner of this shop) for repairs after someone recently slammed into the side of my car. My car is my lifeblood/livelihood right now and this situation has been incredibly stressful. Dealing with the insurance has included a lot of misinformation and lack of follow through and in the meantime, I am bearing the full burden/cost of the situation even though I'm not at fault and the other insurance co. has accepted full liability. I didn't go to my own trusted mechanic because my friend said that Martin was the person to go to in this situation. We went in to see him together and after sharing the situation with the insurance company with him, he immediately said that my car was totaled and I trusted his word. I brought this news back to the insurance company (insurance company had previously deemed my car as repairable based on photos), and they sent me their estimate for repairs and informed me that they needed the mechanic (Martin) to send them his assessment in writing so that I could move forward with the process. I immediately called and asked if Martin was in. I was told that he was with another customer and that he'd call me back right after that. Several hours later I called back to check in and the exact same thing happened again. I thought, "okay, well he must be really busy today" and decided to let it go and wait until Monday. I called again on Monday and was fortunately able to speak with Martin. He instructed me to email him the estimate from the insurance company and that he'd take care of it as soon as he could. Two days later (Wednesday morning) after not hearing back and seeing that the email had never been opened, I thought maybe he forgot and decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and call back. I was able to speak with him and he said he was running out the door to go pick up another car but that he'd take care of this after that and call me back. I made sure to confirm the timeline and he assured me that he'd get back to me by EOB that day. I called to check back in an hour or so before they closed for the day, but he had already left for the day. I informed the person I spoke with of the situation and he said that Martin is a very busy man and it sounded like I was just asking Martin to do me a favor. I clarified that I understood that our interaction wasn't a revenue-generating activity for them but that I wasn't asking for any favors and that I was just trying to complete the process that we had verbally agreed to. I tried to convey the urgency on my end by conveying that I'm facing a very stressful situation and don't want to take any more time than needed but that I've called multiple times at this point and am not receiving a call back as promised and that I need to be able to trust their word so that I can plan and manage things on my end and that I'm facing some real time constraints with the insurance company so I just need to know what I'm dealing with so that I can get back to the insurance company and move the process forward before something goes wrong with the insurance company again. I was assured that he would relay the message and urgency. The following morning at work, Martin called me back and immediately jumped down my throat asking why I had given his employee such a hard time. I asked if we could pause for a second because I didn't understand why he was sounding so upset and treating me as if I had done something wrong. He responded by berating me about my impatience and said that I didn't need to threaten to take my business elsewhere. I tried to clarify that what I had communicated was merely the urgency of the situation on my end and that I had called several times and never received a call back and that I was still confused as to why he was so upset with me since he promised to call me back and I had simply called to follow up when he hadn't. I tried to convey that I'm not being impatient or threatening but that I'm facing some real time constraints with the insurance company so I just need to get clarity about what I can expect so that I know if I need to go elsewhere so that I can meet the deadlines I'm facing. He continued to constantly interrupt me, talk over me, and began swearing at me and telling me to just take my business elsewhere and just hung up on me. I was blown away by being treated like this and immediately called back as this wasn't a random mechanic but someone whom a trusted friend had personally introduced. He picked up the phone and I asked if we could please slow this down and take a breath. I reminded him that all of our interactions have been very positive so far and that I've done everything he's asked of me, that I'm not upset, and that I'm just trying to get the information that I need so that I can manage the situation. Again he verbally abused me and hung up. I tried one last time and received the same highly unprofessional, highly inappropriate treatment. read more

I brought my car here on recommendation from a friend. Let me say that I'm SUPER impressed. Gilbert was easy to deal with and the overall customer service was on par with Nordstrom's. Us professional shoppers no that Nordstrom's customer service is top of the line. When I picked up my car it was washed inside and out and I couldn't even tell it was in a accident. I called Gilbert later to inform him that a few things weren't working. He told me to bring it in and I tell you 3 people immediately jumped to fix the issues. My Honda Civic was parked on the street it was hit so hard it was knocked into the truck parked behind it. My car sustained front and rear end damage. I called B/M my car was towed to the shop about 20 minutes after I called I am a repeat customer and from past experience I knew my car was in good hands the service at B/M is excellent the staff are pleasant and very professional. B/M takes the time to make sure your repairs are done right and your car is safe to drive I really appreciate that. My neighbor across the street recommended B&M Auto Collision. I had damage to my Prius Spoiler with the rear light. It was hanging loose and they saw me right away, gave me an estimate, did excellent work. They ordered the part, and had me come in the following week, had the hatch and spoiler taken apart, hooked all the wiring right back up and I was out of the shop in 2 hours. My insurance covered the extra after the $500 deductible and it was a very reasonable price. They also gave me the wholesale price for wheel covers. The retail price was double. They are super honest, super fast, dependable, and very stress free to work with. Establishments like these need to be commended for the good work they do.! Thank you! read more

I am very pissed with this shop my car was involved in a collision in which someone hit my car while it was parked head on so it had front end and fender damage. We took the car there because the husband knows the owner huge mistake the shop was packed with cars and my car sat there a month and everytime we checked in on it which was every other day there wasnt much progress and they complained of being short staffed and to many cars my question is why do you keep taking more cars then?? $$$ that's why so after a month that my insurance stopped paying for my rental the owner tells us that he wasn't done with the car mind you this is a month later and the damage wasn't that bad and that he will pay for the rental till he's done then calls us and leaves a message 2 days later saying turn in the rental today and pick up your car at 3 so we take the rental back pick up the car at 3 and the car looked like they had just painted it that morning no gloss just ugly they didn't fix the back damage or the airbag lights that came on after it was hit this is horrible oh and he never called to take care of the 2 day rental he said he'd pay and promised he would. I'm fed up if he doesn't resolve this issue asap I'm taking it to 7 on your side because this isn't ok...so beware of this shop they'll take your car even if its packed so they can make that $$$ of it then leave you with a big problem ,a bunch of lies and huge headache read more

Brought my 2013 Genesis Coupe to B&M for a broken window and damaged door repair, a result of a smash/grab in Oakland. First thing I noticed is how large and clean the facility is - definitely a place with high standards. Don't let the neighborhood fool you - it's a very professional spot. Got the car back perfectly repaired and fully detailed - looking immaculate and same as the day I bought it. The process was extremely simple - just gave them my info and insurance info and they made sure everything was taken care of quickly. My visiting Mom took our VW Cabrio out for some last minute grocery shopping the day before Thanksgiving, where the 2nd distracted driver in 10 days (poor Gramma C!) backed right into her (the drivers side door this time-see my Salle's review) in the Safeway parking lot . Luckily no one got hurt.... except my pretty little car... The folks that hit my car wanted to take it t BM (the owner, Martin turned out to be a friend of a friend) so that's what we did. BM gave us a comparable estimate to 2 other body shops, and then discounted their price some mo', like the other reviewers say. The guys at BM- the owner Martin and his son Louis- are great. They explained everything they were gonna do, and why, & the car looks beautiful, The new paint, (an orangey pearl color) blends with the old, perfectly. The smashed driver side door was replaced, and you can't tell there was ever any damage at all. Honestly, it looks better than before it got hit. They even fixed the door lock, which someone had ruined trying to break-in, and the scratches n the hood- for (dum ta dum).. no extra charge! Nice people, clean shop, honest, professional, and as if that wasn't enough my car was done a full day early! I will always get any body work done here.
