Probably some of the better food I've ever put into my mouth. The Spanish dogs never fail to disappoint. The breaded cheeseburger makes me want to off myself to avoid the diabetes I'll inevitably get, but then I finish it anyways and the next time I go I order it again and the whole cycle continues. The root beer, of course, is amazing. Last year my grandma wanted to go because she lives out in Markle and lives for Bummie's, so we went into Bluffton, she got a parking ticket, went to the police station and refused to pay it because she couldn't see the sign (to be fair, it was under very thick tree branches). Then we go to Bummie's and eat under the pavilion, because everyone in my family is too messy to eat in a car safely. A dead baby bird drops on the bench about a foot away from me. Then an older man hits my grandmother's car as he's getting out. Of course, we have to call the police because he tried to drive away. Then they get there, and it's the same people my grandmother yelled at for the parking ticket (which was $5. Literally everyone in my family has offered at one point to just pay it off.). This wasn't relevant but it IS quite the story. Anyways, it's great, come eat here whenever you want to eat something quick, cheap, and not McDonald's. read more

Can't go home to northeast Indiana without swinging by the Root Beer Stand, better known as Bummies. Every parking spot was full on a Friday night but service was quick and efficient. For less than $15 we got 4 Spanish hot dogs, fries, onion rings and root beer. Everything was hot and tasty. Must visit if you're in the area. read more

This place is a must visit! The Spanish dogs are phenomenal, especially with cheese and onions. The Bummie Burger is one of the best smash burgers you'll ever eat. I recommend adding the butt bacon. Tenderloins, both traditional and grilled are top notch. Fries and onion rings are awesome too. Then there's the root beer. Oh the root beer! 2 stars because they are extremely nice at this place but the food could used a lot of work unfortunately the cheese burger was completely inedible and very wet many grease of butter I'm not sure and the chili dogs so so I could stomach them and at moments thought maybe they were ok but they really were not sorry , I hope you guys revamp and tweak your recipes a bit to make things better . read more

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE BUMMIES! My fiancee, a Bluffton native, introduced me to this drive in and it was AWESOME! The onion rings are to die for so next time we fly into Bluffton, I am dive into like three of these bags. I didn't order a full meal, but I am going to try it next time. Also, the ROOT BEER! The delicious ROOT BEER! We ordered the large ones and it was amazing. Since this is literally a drive in, it does fill up quick so be sure to be patient because the food and drinks are worth it! read more

Me and the family love this place. The homemade rootbeer is awesome and you can buy it by the gallon. Spanish dogs are made with their family recipe and is amazing. They serve the hard to find crinkle fries that are great and onion rings. The only con I have is its so darn busy sometimes but we'll worth the wait. read more

Bummie's is an icon of Bluffton! Ice cold root beer, or whatever you are drinking, usually served in a glass mug, unless you request otherwise. Wide range of menu items for a wide range of tastes. Probably not the place for those seeking health food, but for a once in a while burger and fries, or a spanish dog... it's great! Root beer is available by the jug, and food can be ordered by phone for carryout or pre-ordered to dine on site, in your vehicle or at picnic tables.
