The main building has a lot of books...native plant identification, plant husbandry, cooking with native plants, Minnesota birds...and much, much more. They also sell bulk seed of native grasses, gifts, and crafts. Outside they have 4 primary plant areas. One has native (sand loving) full sun prairie plants, one has shade loving woodland plants, one has boggy water loving plants, and finally, behind the building, they have a big area with native trees & shrubs. Every area is well labeled with the scientific Latin name, the common name, and bullet points about the plant and its growing requirements. I hung out in the "retail" areas. But they also have a giant commercial design, installation, and planting business. I haven't used this service so I can't comment on this aspect of the business other than you can see acres & acres of stuff. There's definitely a lot going on. Finally, the staff members were all very, very knowledgeable and friendly. I really enjoyed talking with them. I made a small purchase of two species of Milkweed. Since it's late in the year, I didn't go crazy with purchases. But I'll definitely come back. A big thumbs up! -Maxx

Dealing with this company is a total…read morewaste of time and money. 5 years in and all we have to show for it is an abundance of weeds. We had over an acre converted in 2021 and from the start it looked bad. They kept telling us to give it 2-3 years and we believed them and spent thousands and thousands of dollars. Last year they didn't do any maintenance even though we signed a maintenance agreement. This year they are not responding to calls and e-mails at all. Finally got a second opinion and they told us what we knew all along...this is bad. They would be ashamed if any of their installations looked like ours. My advice is to save yourself time and money and choose someone that actually knows what they are doing. I should point their talent at gaslighting. For a few years they told us convincingly it looks good and it's supposed to look like that. In the end though it still just thistles and weeds!

The location is a little out of the way, but is worth the visit. The backyard garden is very nice, and there is a diverse selection of annuals, perennials, vegetables, trees/shrubs, and decorations. Everyone staffed knows their stuff, and it makes shopping here easy and enjoyable. I loved the place so much that I got myself a job here, if that says anything.

I was a little shocked to see that there were no Yelp reviews yet. If you're looking for a nursery with a huge variety of beautiful plants -- this is it. 1) They also have interesting, unusual, and rare varieties. 2) The plants are well cared for and beautiful. 3) The prices are all reasonable. 4) Veteran owned! Support a local business and a vet. I counted at least 8 greenhouses. Not all of them are open to the public. It depends on when you get there during the season and what's going on. They also have a gigantic quantity and variety of mulch. My only gripe is the payment procedure. The payment area is not clear. It's inside the 2nd, south side (or left side) greenhouse. When it's busy, it's confusing. There's no clear area for waiting & forming a line, and the workers seemed a little overwhelmed. Words cannot even describe how amazing both of the farms and their staff are!…read moreOur neighbors recommended Our Farm to us when we told them we were getting a real tree this year. So we drove to the Oak Grove location and Wow! The staff was so helpful and courteous. Cutting down our own tree was SO EASY! They shake the tree, put netting around it and load on top of your car for you. And the price was SUPER reasonable! We chose a 9' White Pine, only $69! About a week later when we decided to decorate the tree we discovered that the branches were not sturdy enough to hold the lights and ornaments. So my husband called and spoke to Ike who told us "No problem, just bring back the tree and we'll take care of it." Long story short, we ended up going to the other location of theirs in St. Francis - and holy moly is this place BEAUTIFUL! You feel like you're up in the mountains somewhere! We had the best time driving around and walking to find the perfect tree! Once we cut down our tree we took it over to get ready for transport and pay. I walked into the office and the nice gentleman there said he knew about our other tree. I handed him our ticket and I asked how much I owe and he said "You're good! We just want you to be happy " I honestly couldn't believe it. I knew that the type of tree we had picked out was a bit more expensive but they just wanted us to be satisfied. I am so incredibly grateful to our neighbors for telling us about this place and even more grateful to the Our Farm family and staff! They will have our lifetime business and we will recommend them every single chance we get!!

A father and sons establishment, Our Farm has been 15 years in the making. The Ritcher family started planting trees in 1998 on their property with several varieties--Balsamic and Fraser firs or Scotch, White, and Norway pines. They offer cut-your-own or pre-cut! My family grew up with the lovely smell of pine in the house around Christmas time, and it has been a continued tradition to trek out into the woods and cut a tree ourselves. At Our Farm, you have the option to walk all around the 40 acres to hunt for your preferred tree, or one of the sons can offer to drive you into the back area (where all of the biggest and best trees can be found.) We were pleasantly surprised by the selection. We had trouble deciding because every tree seemed like the perfect one. I think the best part though was getting to enjoy the beautiful property. When we settled on the perfect tree, the Ritchers shook the excess needles off and bailed it for us. They even were kind enough to assist in tying it down to our truck's roof. The Ritchers were folksy and incredibly pleasant to chat with, telling the story of his grandad was a tree farmer elsewhere in Minnesota and they wanted to continue the family tradition. Pop Ritcher has big plans for the Farm, hoping to have hay rides, hot cocoa stations, and toboggans to haul your tree up from the back woods. Really glad too that they were open just three days before Christmas. Many tree farms are closed by now. Their prices are fair for their trees. We got a huge Norway pine for $60! Be sure to make it your tradition for Christmas, to visit the Ritchers for your Christmas tree.
