Specifically, we were looking for interior shutters, which are very expensive but last forever and gave our house an elegance that couldn't be beat. Unfortunately I found that when you measure for them and order them, being off by even a quarter-inch would be enough to ruin the whole thing, so I wanted to find the best. Enter Mark Obrycki. Mark walked us through every step of the process, helping us choose colors, frames, and explaining what he would be doing to make everything look perfect. He measured, ordered, and installed the shutters for us, and got it right the first time (no easy task!) More importantly, he did all the little stuff. He took his shoes off at the door every time he came in and out of the house without being asked. He dusted off high places in our house we normally wouldn't reach. He was kind, generous, and friendly. He put down cloths to catch wood and drywall dust when he was screwing into our walls and casement. In short, he was a perfect professional. A joy to work with. He has a very calm, kind bedside manner and sort of oozes honesty and forthrightness. It's a rare thing to find. His quote was pretty similar to a lot of the other folks who do shutters, and actually a little lower than most. For the money, I'm sure you can't find better service. I'd recommend him for any window treatment job you've got.

The day it was supposed to be complete the installer was at my house until 8:55pm (!!) and still didn't finish it. Instead of taking three days it took five. They were not willing to compensate for the added stress and huge inconvenience. Felt little respect for my home, my family, and most importantly my home business. From the get-go this was a bad experience. The carpet was creased after installation and they…read moreinsisted time would fix it and it would fluff up. Months passed, finally they replaced it. They brought the wrong wooden molding and it did not match. They then came back with the right molding and were inches short. 3rd time they came to do the molding it was finished....but they rehung the closet doors wrong (backwards) in the rails and the doors wouldn't move. Finally came back and rehung them. Stair carpeting was stretched too tight and was fraying at the edges. Came back and reinstalled. New carpet guy said it looked like the original job looked rushed. Designer visited and said the stairs looked overstretched. Left some scuffs on my walls. Total time until the room was done: 6 months. Yes I'm absolutely serious that this Costco sponsored business took 6 months to finish carpeting 1 room and 1 staircase. All I got was an apology from Costco and Shaw carpets. Find someone else for your carpeting. This was expensive and time consuming and endlessly frustrating.

That alone should let you know how we feel about their superior work and professionalism. For this project we wanted to install hardwood floors in our living room and upstairs landing. We just wanted to tie all the rooms together since Dave's did another job about a year ago. Everything is simple from the quote, demolition, installation and sanding to the finish. Communication is great and you always know where they are in the progress. Absolutely no surprises is the 3 times we have used them. Kelly did our second job and we requested him to do this job too. He is the absolute best. A perfectionist and super cool guy. Another awesome job by Dave's Flooring and the only flooring company I recommend to my friends.

I paid for 3 coats of poly and an additional "radcoat" supposedly to make the floors more durable…read more They sanded down the middle, did not do the corners or edges at all. After I complained they scraped off the poly and somewhat fixed the corners. Not great, but better. Applied one more coat and then the final coat so I got one less coat then I paid for. First time they left the doors unlocked, second time they left them not only unlocked but wide open in sub zero weather. The house was vacant so I guess they thought that was ok. When I asked them about it they said it was hard to lock old doors and hard to make old floors look good. I thought that was what they did? It was a 1940's house so not ancient. They have every excuse in the book ready when you call to complain. Not the same floor company I used to get for all my rehabs. Very sub par work which it appears to be from a variety of sub contractors. Sad that what was once a good business is now just a scam operation cutting corners whenever they can. Check all reviews - wish I had.

What is most impressive is that they took our pre-stained floors, that you could feel every grove and sand them down so there were no noticeable groves. We dealt with the owner and it's clear he is a true craftsman who loves what he does, and truly loves the beauty of a well finished floor. There were stains…read morethat he couldn't sand out so instead of replacing 40 boards that would have cost an additional $800 he said we could stain a nice dark walnut that would then blend with the stains leaving a beautiful floor behind for only an additional $200 and it was well worth it. The floors are more beautiful than I could have imaged. I cannot wait to get the new paint and trim!
