I believe the company knowingly outsources to other contractors. We called to set up an appointment with B&A after seeing good reviews on Google. We were told to expect a call back. They called back (or a different company did, still not sure) and said they couldn't help due to miscommunication over the type of job. Later another number called to say they were coming over but would not give us a quote over the phone. At this point we still didn't realize it was a different company. Lior showed up from 24 Hour Locksmith with an unmarked car. The whole experience was high pressure and we were charged 750 to replace a lock. The job took 30 minutes and he didn't even screw in all the screws. He wanted to be paid in cash or Zelle. We ultimately paid his boss, Shlomo, via Venmo. Overall a terrible experience. Feel scammed and regret not reading yelp reviews to begin with. Don't make our mistake: use someone else! Company sends subcontractors to do the work. Reviews are probably fake. We were clear that these were new doors and the guy who came out had no idea what he was doing. We had five locksets to install but he had no idea what to do with the one that had been previously installed so had no instructions. The other four, holy cow. He installed the locks and handles through the predrilled door holes but didn't drill the frames or even chisel out the door for the plates. When he had them all done, he announced this fact and I walked around and found no strike plates or even holes for the deadbolt or latch. He insisted that we should have told him before he started that we expected the work to be done completely and generally was a total jerk. He wouldn't budge on the price $100 per partially installed lockset and the same quality of job that I could have done in less time. He also mis-drilled our new door and everything is crooked. It was a total mistake calling this company and you'll have no idea who they send. We got an incompetent jerk. The invoice they gave us doesn't have an address or a phone number either. I have to redo all of their work, and had to immediately redo one just so I can lock the door again. Total failure. read more

Second Update 5/30/2025: Per the business's response below requesting me to contact them again, I did so- see their text response to me in the image I am adding: "I'm not going to send you nothing and don't contact me anymore." What terrible, dishonest people. Again, beware. Update: 5/14/2025: On top of their technician lying to me per my review below, it turns out she also broke the lock she was ostensibly opening. It was a little bit loose after she forced it open, and now, less than two weeks later my wife called me from outside the house because her key won't work. She called another locksmith who checked it out and said that permanent damage had been done to the lock. So now we have to spend several hundred dollars replacing the lock they not only lied about the 'standard rate' to overcharge me by 2-3x but actually *broke*. Update 5/11/2025 to my previous review somewhere below: in response to this review I received a message from the business owner asking me to contact him so that he could make it right. I've now called the number he provided three times-- each time I was promised he would call back. He has never called back. However the first person I spoke to when I called (who claimed he wasn't the owner, though curiously he told me his name was 'Ben' which is the same name as the guy who identified himself as the owner next time I called but was "too busy" to talk) acknowledged that Ariel, their employee who lied to and overcharged me was 'terrible', caused them 'a lot of problems' and claimed she has since been fired. But again, the owner will not call me back despite his purported eagerness to make things right. In short, this business acknowledges their employees are "terrible" and "liars" . The owner replies to negative reviews here by claiming they will make it right if you call. Then they will avoid your calls, promise to call you back and not, et cetera. 5/2/2025: I accidentally locked myself out of my apartment and made the mistake of calling this locksmith to request help via the phone at a local business. (My cell phone was in my apartment). The technician who responded , Ariel, showed up and quoted me $370 to open the door. It was a weekday afternoon, not an off hour time. Since I couldn't check quotes as I didn't have my phone, I told her that sounded high. She responded , "I promise you that is the going rate, you can ask any locksmith and they will tell you the same price." She was lying. When I did retrieve my phone and sent a photo of the key and lock to other locksmiths , their quotes, per the photo below (which yelp for some reason deleted) were between $80 and $140. We needed to have a new electronic keypad lock installed on our front door, and then rekey our doorknob to use the same key if the keypad ran out of power. We called and Nathan was sent the same day. He first installed a new keypad, but for whatever reason, it didn't work well. He took it back and brought in another one which worked great. He then used the emergency key from the keypad and now the doorknob uses the same key - much better than having to use 2 keys for the front door. Nathan was knowledgeable and explained how the new device worked. He was friendly and I will gladly call him again for any future locksmith jobs. read more

We are a business who had a storage room's lock break on us and the key no longer worked to open. I saw the excellent reviews on google so I decided to call and we received another person from a different company that arrived. He drilled the lock and replaced with a lower quality lock in about 20 minutes, left a mess of metal shavings and charged us over $600. The guy just pointed to the receipt when I questioned the price. Ive replaced locks at this business multiple times myself for around $16 so Im hoping they can explain why this technician charged us such an amount. $425 to open a front door. I understand for emergency services the price is raised, but the charge absolutely shocked me. When I first called to get an estimate the man that answered wouldn't quote me a price, when I asked the technician that called me what the price might be they wouldn't tell me. He said he'd arrive in 20 minutes, ended up being 40 minutes and the charge was $425. The standard is like $250 max, but he was already there and I needed to have the door unlocked. If they had told me they were going to charge that much, there is no way I would have agreed for them to come out. I had a very bad experience with this company. They sent a technician to my house when my lock wasn't working. He was dismissive and condescending when I asked questions to try to understand the root cause of our issue so that I could validate that rekeying the lock would fix it. He rekeyed the lock and then told me that I owed him $865. When trying the new key, it didn't feel smooth to me, so I tried retesting it a few times. He told me to get out of his way so that I he could finish up. 2 days later - low and behold - the door wouldn't open again. He added some oil and explained to my husband what he had done (he was dismissive to me again). another week later, and it had become very clear that this expensive "fix" did not work. We are unable to use our front door. I tried calling the company daily for a week and did not receive a response. read more

Do NOT use this company. They sent out a technician who broke the doorframe and left in a fit without putting the door handle back on when I asked for him to breakdown the price (photo of the door after he left is attached.) When he stormed out, he TOOK the house key. Before writing this review, I confirmed I had the correct business, so the "owner" here on Yelp can't claim this as a "mixup" like he has on all of the other bad reviews. Another issue was the technician was wearing a teeshirt with a different phone number and driving a personal car. This is not operating on honesty and it appears as if these technicians are not from this company but rather subcontractors. David, the technician, said it would be $150 and then when asking for payment (without completing the job) said it will be $1850 for unlocking and unjamming the door. Immediately the red flags were screaming scam. When I called back to escalate and speak to his supervisor, I got reception who promised a callback but could not tell me from who, what number, or when I would be getting the call back.
