REI is crazy expensive tho! Ooooh! So Al's just opened. I was sad to see the trampoline park close and leave. Sports Authority was at this location at one time too. Mittens was on the board, soooo...ahhh! Never mind lol. They closed. Sad. Anyway, finally a store goes in there. Obviously we are talking about AL's. This store is fantastic. I know it's going to be pricey eventually, but when we went in, the sales they were having were amazing. They had great prices on almost everything. With Christmas coming up, too, I'm sure their sales will once again be epic. They have all kinds of top brands. North Face, Patagonia, etc. Any place that carries Patagonia is ok in my book...even if Patagonia is another company that gets too political way too often. They make great jackets tho. I've had my R3 for like 17 years and still looks new. So walking into Al's and seeing they sell Pats, made me happy. Pats in general are very expensive. So if they happen to have these on sale, don't hesitant to pick one up. Same goes for a lot of the other name brands they have here. Great store for hunters, for anyone who loves kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, I mean, it's just a great store. I'm usually iffy on these chain stores, but I think this one is mainly specific to this area of the country, PNW, and obviously Utah and ugh, I'm sure California as well..at least Northern California? Who knows. Most people I know have already been. My hunter friends are in love with this place. They have gotten some insane deals here. However, if you haven't been, you definitely need to check it out...especially now that the Christmas season is like a day away from officially beginning. No, it doesn't start the day after Halloween lol. We got a few things here when we went. One thing was a flashlight. There was a guy in that section, wish I remembered his name. His main job is he's a fireman. I remember at least that much. This guy was such a great help. Knew the products well, super friendly, perfect teeth haha, and I mean, he was fun to look at. Sorry, had to throw that last bit in haha, because shiiiieeeet! Hahaha! Super nice guy. Everyone we came across that works there was great and eager to help. I hope this place succeeds. That spot it's in is a weird one. It seems to do good elsewhere and with Boise being a huge outdoor city, I can't see this place actually failing. I can only see it flourish and I hope it does. The shoes I purchased felt fine while trying them on in the store, but I wore them two days and they began to make my feet and hips hurt. The fit was just off. Well, Eddie Bauer gladly accepted the return, and I got all my money back. Later that day, we returned to the store to buy three pairs of pants that were on sale for 40% off. Very cool! Story time: my boyfriend and I have just moved to the boise area from an area that had a moderate climate where legitimate winter wear does not exist and isn't needed. The best and warmest we have are $25 jackets from Costco that act more as windbreakers. I went on a hunt for good quality coats for us about a month ago, did a ton of online research and browsing. Eddie Bauer was a recommendation from local family members but the price points were a little bit of a sticker shock for me. Thankfully, just in time for the upcoming snow and bitter cold, EB had a killer sale. We bit the bullet and placed our order online for two coats we really wanted because the Boise store didn't have the exact color, style or the sizing we wanted. Waited patiently for our shipment to arrive, only to have the arrival date pushed back twice. Delivery date came and next thing I know our address was determined to be "unshippable" and the package was being sent back to Ohio with no way of stopping it. I made many frantic calls to EB Customer service and to fedex. I was told my only option was to wait for the items to return back to Ohio (14 day wait), then EB would issue a refund and our order would go back into their inventory without any notification. The exact items we wanted would then be available to all and as of now the items are listed as sold out. So our coats could potentially be sold to someone else. If we were lucky and diligent in calling everyday, we could possibly get them sent back to us with express shipping (so now we are looking at getting them towards the end of December). All of it was a big MAYBE and I didn't want to waste mine or EB's time and frustration of calling customer service everyday between now and then. I was pretty upset and frustrated at this point and still without coats, without the refunded money, and snow and bitter cold closing in. Seriously I was on the verge of tears. We decided to go into the Boise store and explain our situation to the manager. This is where Stetson came in! I showed him our order and tracking proof, told him of our troubles and asked if he would be able to honor the sales pricing we got if we could find comparable coats in the boise store today. He said he would and then he went above and beyond by becoming our personal shopper without us even having to ask. He helped us find comparable coats and searched for the right sizing and helped us settle on colors. I didn't feel rushed and he was friendly and informative through the entire thing. Although the coat I got wasn't the exact one I originally wanted and my boyfriends is a different color than the one we ordered we are both extremely happy. Stetson completely turned our entire EB experience around. It will still be a few weeks until we get our refund from EB online customer service but at least we won't have to freeze or wonder if we will ever receive coats at all this winter in the meantime. Thank you Stetson! You have turned us into two loyal EB customers.

But, this store looks a cross from a Three's Company set with moo moos and patterns from the 80s and a Forever 21 store with the cropped trendy tops. ARI the "store manager" took advantage of my wife and daughter during the exchange and did not do an even exchange with same discount even though I was told different at the time of purchasing these items. After reading prior reviews of this establishment I think this is an ongoing process. Tell the customer one thing, but policy kicks in if you want to exchange. My wife has spent thousands at this store. We will never ever shop here again and I am returning everything my first day off of work. Jill store - I noticed it on my mission-trip to Williams Sonoma - was an excellent one. Friendly service, think Nordstrom'esque for welcoming shopper and assisting with finding items and checking with the shopper in the dressing room, well laid out store and with plenty of space in aisleways, neatly arranged merchandise with plenty of options but not overwhelming in same, sizes from 0 to 2X and Petites too. The manager here could teach a master class to other retailers in the area about how to get it right. It makes me want to learn how to wear J. Jill clothing because while I have tried in the past, the J. Jill in the Central Oregon city I lived in was accessed from sidewalk in shopping area and didn't require navigating an indoor mall, so I'd go in when passing by, I never have really learned how to make it work for me, although I am for sure their age demographic and the unfussiness of the styling works for my preferences even if some of the designs are too Eileen Fischer'esque shapeless for me and I feel as if I disappear in them. I'm a smaller and shorter person, 5'4" / size 2, and somehow the regular sizes in JJill are too big for me but the petites aren't right either. But my BFF who is 5'7" / 8 looks great in everything she has purchased in this brand over the years, as does a friend who is in the average American woman size of 12 -14 and they are all dedicated shoppers of J.Jill products. COMFORTABLE ACCESS FOR EVERYONE: As a shopper with disabilities, I have had multiple sclerosis since college years and it is a progressive disease, I particularly appreciate the perfect ADA compliance for at least 36" clear space in aisles. This has been equal access law since 1990 but you'd be amazed how many retailers, in particular for clothing, treat this as optional. Good for J. Jill corporate and this Boise store manager for taking it seriously. All the ladies I spoke to were friendly and helpful, but one of the ladies there in particular was phenomenal. When she found out my fitting room didn't have a fan in there and that I was a little warm she brought me a small water bottle (I didn't ask for it--she just wanted to make sure I was comfortable.) I really appreciated how kind and helpful she was. It definitely made an impression. Their jeans and undergarment selection is great and their employees are also great. I can't say anything yet about the bras but the women working there that day really showed such love and care for me in that situation. I wish I got their names but they helped me so much in such an embarrassing situation. My poor son was covered in vomit and they let me use the bathroom to clean up and gave me extra paper towels and bags. They kept checking on me as well. Seriously the best ladies ever worked that day and I am forever grateful for them. Also got two bras and going to see how they work but they so far are super comfy and they had great deals compared to Victoria secret or torrid. Just overall an amazing place. God bless
