Better yet, most of us spent one or two Saturdays at Saturday school, err. Saturday detention like the kids from the Breakfast Club, The kids who wore Vans the most were surfers and skateboarders. There were plenty of those kids at Carmel High in California and I wanted to be one of them. That free-flowing blond hair, sun tanned face and the OP shirts and shorts. Dude! The flashbacks hit me like the concrete pavement when I bailed on my skateboard when I walked into the Vans store at the mall with my teenage kids. My daughter was totally digging a pair of slip-ons while my son wanted a pair of high tops. I almost got into the mood to get me a pair, but I was not sure if I wanted to go all the way yet. Brad was super cool and chill while he waited on both of my kids at the same time. He looked like my age, well minus about 15 years, but he was an adult with several cool age worn tats. He got a couple of slips-ons for my daughter and pair of killer red high tops for my son. He kept egging me on to get a pair. The peer pressure was real, I mean for real bro, but being Fall / Winter season, I was more intrigued with the beanies and the hoodies. I found a powder blue / yellow hoodie on clearance. It was like 24 bucks and I got a beanie for 8 bucks. I still think fondly of my trip back into Vans after all that time, especially with my kids. The experience did not disappoint, and we occasionally drop in to check the new kicks and I go check out the clearance. I still do not have a pair of Vans but that's okay, but kids have several pairs including my son who got a pair slip on with flames on them. Killer Brah!

I called Austin (I live in Oregon and have to travel a few hours to get to location) and told him my issues with the shoes I had. I was hesitant to ask for help, but Austin reassured me that they would help me fix my problem with my current shoes. I ended up getting two new pairs of shoes (different brand, of course) and two pairs of insoles. Timothy, the salesman who helped me this time, he did the new computer measuring of my feet and discovered I needed a different size than previously thought. Timothy was exceedingly patient as I tried on several boxes of shoes. I'm so happy that I called in to ask for help. Austin & Timothy solved my problem. I am a very happy customer. Highly recommend this location.

I gave them 3 weeks to try and sort that out to no avail, which If I'm being totally honest, is not their fault. When I first went into this place, the "specialist" who saw me asked several questions INCLUDING if I was Diabetic, which I am NOT. So, immediately there was a question about insurance. I told him regardless, I just had part of my foot amputated. I desperately need help walking. HOW MUCH IS A PAIR OF ORTHOTICS? His definitive answer: $150 per pair. No other feees? NO. Ok, I can cough that up for my feet. So they scanned my feet and placed the order. 3 weeks later I drive an hour to go pick them up and they bait and switch and now they are $466. That's $316 MORE than what they told me it was originally. To say I was beyond furious is an understatement. Then I was told that if I WAS diabetic, they would be $150. Ok, we'll try this: I suddenly identify as being diabetic. This is Boise, after all. We should be able to play their liberal games... Well, since I wasn't diabetic when I ordered them now they're $466. They can keep their F U C K I N G orthodicks. I honestly truly despise businesses like this.

We headed to 3peat after brunch to see what kind of dope stuff they had. This store front is so nice! Walking in, everything is so organized and clean. The shoes were perfectly displayed on the wall. There were racks of clothing that were all nicely hung. For a small venue, everything was nicely spaced. You didn't feel crowded. My husband did find a couple pair of rare sneakers but unfortunately they were not his size. It was cool that they had them and that we got to check them out in person. They have a great variety of sneakers for those sneaker heads out there or sneaker collectors. We didn't really check out what kind of clothing they had but from all the customers looking, I'm sure they had some cool stuff. I'm sure we will be back to see what new sneakers they get in. I honestly didn't mind kicking it while my husband looked around. I was admiring their two pretty chandeliers in the front. I thought it added a hint of elegance to the store. REI is crazy expensive tho! Ooooh! So Al's just opened. I was sad to see the trampoline park close and leave. Sports Authority was at this location at one time too. Mittens was on the board, soooo...ahhh! Never mind lol. They closed. Sad. Anyway, finally a store goes in there. Obviously we are talking about AL's. This store is fantastic. I know it's going to be pricey eventually, but when we went in, the sales they were having were amazing. They had great prices on almost everything. With Christmas coming up, too, I'm sure their sales will once again be epic. They have all kinds of top brands. North Face, Patagonia, etc. Any place that carries Patagonia is ok in my book...even if Patagonia is another company that gets too political way too often. They make great jackets tho. I've had my R3 for like 17 years and still looks new. So walking into Al's and seeing they sell Pats, made me happy. Pats in general are very expensive. So if they happen to have these on sale, don't hesitant to pick one up. Same goes for a lot of the other name brands they have here. Great store for hunters, for anyone who loves kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, I mean, it's just a great store. I'm usually iffy on these chain stores, but I think this one is mainly specific to this area of the country, PNW, and obviously Utah and ugh, I'm sure California as well..at least Northern California? Jill store - I noticed it on my mission-trip to Williams Sonoma - was an excellent one. Friendly service, think Nordstrom'esque for welcoming shopper and assisting with finding items and checking with the shopper in the dressing room, well laid out store and with plenty of space in aisleways, neatly arranged merchandise with plenty of options but not overwhelming in same, sizes from 0 to 2X and Petites too. The manager here could teach a master class to other retailers in the area about how to get it right. It makes me want to learn how to wear J. Jill clothing because while I have tried in the past, the J. Jill in the Central Oregon city I lived in was accessed from sidewalk in shopping area and didn't require navigating an indoor mall, so I'd go in when passing by, I never have really learned how to make it work for me, although I am for sure their age demographic and the unfussiness of the styling works for my preferences even if some of the designs are too Eileen Fischer'esque shapeless for me and I feel as if I disappear in them. I'm a smaller and shorter person, 5'4" / size 2, and somehow the regular sizes in JJill are too big for me but the petites aren't right either. But my BFF who is 5'7" / 8 looks great in everything she has purchased in this brand over the years, as does a friend who is in the average American woman size of 12 -14 and they are all dedicated shoppers of J.Jill products. (See closing comment...J. Jill cultivates buyer brand loyalty.) The price is right and in particular when they have sales. Next time I am brave enough to go inside the mall I will spend more time here. If they moved the store outside the mall, I'd be there more often. SERVICE: Dressing rooms are nicely set up. COMFORTABLE ACCESS FOR EVERYONE: As a shopper with disabilities, I have had multiple sclerosis since college years and it is a progressive disease, I particularly appreciate the perfect ADA compliance for at least 36" clear space in aisles. This has been equal access law since 1990 but you'd be amazed how many retailers, in particular for clothing, treat this as optional. Good for J. Jill corporate and this Boise store manager for taking it seriously.
