2023 brought me the wonderful gift of plantar fasciitis in my right foot and confirmed by my physician during my annual physical. I researched various places to go, and after reading the reviews online, made the appointment for the 30 minute consultation at Foot Dynamics. Janice was very friendly and thorough durning my initial visit and showed me several things to do at home to cure the pesky little pain in my foot. Since I was buying the packaged insoles at various other stores, I opted to go with the custom made pair. It hit me like a ton of bricks that my feet were different, so why have the same orthotic for both! Today, 02-06-2023, I went in early to my appointment to pick up my orthotics to discuss shoes. Mark assited me and was very knowledgeable and helpful in picking out a pair of Altra's. He made sure my size was correct by putting me in a half size bigger stating that the Altra tends to run smaller. Once I had the shoes, Janice put in the orthotics and a very noticeable improvement was found! I'm hoping to be to be top notch for the upcoming Europe trip knowing I'll be walking aLOT!! I live quite a ways from Boise, but I'll make it a point to come here for my shoe needs in the future. Very happy to have found a place with great and helpful people! read more

I usually just stick to the restaurants, but this is a small shoe store with a focus on brands that are good for your feet, and I happen to be getting to an age where this has become very important for me. I love the brands they carry, plus they have an experienced podiatrist on staff to help you figure out what needs correction, and how to do that. The consolation is free, which is nice. They do custom orthotics, and they will also point out the best shoe options for you, so all in all, it's a very helpful and friendly atmosphere, especially for those who have feet issues, which are usually tied to spine issues or other imbalances, so seems pretty important! I had an amazing experience with the team at Foot Dynamics! My podiatrist provided me with a referral so I could begin the process of custom orthotics and Foot Dynamics offered me a 10% discount due to the referral. I am thankful for that! Rebecca was my clinician and she was so wonderful, knowledgeable and caring. My foot impressions (first meeting) was super quick. I was in and out in less than 30min. Because they build their orthotics in store, they were ready within a week! The fitting was done by apt in the Meridian location, and I was instantly amazed at how much of a difference they made, and then disappointed in myself for waiting so long to do this for ME! I was always putting it aside due to the hefty cost, but now I realize that it could have been a lifesaver years ago! I was personally able to wear them immediately and all day! I had also bought a pair of shoes from them, and they said that I could return them if anything didn't feel right - and that yes, I could wear them and everything and still return them! That made me purchase them to at least try them. For me personally, because of all my many scar on the tops of my feet, the shoes (Altra) were just not comfortable to me. But, they stretched them for me, got me different styles - really took their time with me! In the end, I returned the Altra's for Topos and I was so so happy and grateful their gentle and amazing customer service. My feet are no joke, but now I am allllll smiles! I had a recent pair of Birkenstocks where the bottom had no more tread. I was hesitant to get rid of them so I held on to them and did some research online and found Foot Dynamics! They offered two types of bottoms when I first found them online. I forgot about it for a while and went back months later and finally did the purchase to fix the soles but they only had one type in stock. Not a big deal to me. It was well worth spending the money on to fix an old pair of well loved sandals than to buy a new pair for double the price. I will definitely use them again next time i need new soles. I also had no issues with sending my sandals to them and getting them shipped back out to me in about a week once they received it. I did have a question and reached out to them and they responded back to me with a phone call within 24 hours (and on a Saturday!) . Thank you! read more

I was refereed to Foot Dynamics by my Orthopedic Surgeon. I gots the real bad feets! :) I even had surgery on one of them a few years ago, but the problems have continued and started to move up my shins and knees. I was able to call right after my surgeon appointment and get in to Foot Dynamics for a (free) consultation 30 minutes later. I met with the most lovely staff member. I can't remember her name, but she has a fabulous Scottish accent. :) She sat me down, looked at my feet and talked to me about all of my woes. She measured me, marked out my stance and then formed the base for my custom orthopedic insert. I was in and out in 30 minutes. She set me up for my follow up fitting the next week. When I came back in, I had the same technician. She asked me to bring in a few different shoes and she helped fit them all in to my shoes and walk me through what I should be feeling. I already feel so much better when I wear my inserts! Now I even wear them in the house with my house shoes! They are a bit pricey...mine cost $310. But so far, it has been worth every penny! COVID related - all the staff was in masks and require all guests to wear one. There are hand sanitizers everywhere and even two cups of sanitized and dirty pens. I looked up the store's inventory of shoes before I showed up to purchase the shoes I liked. I walked in to the store along with another customer. The other customer was immediately greeted/helped by a female employee. No one came to help me. While I continued to look around, a different customer walked in, who was also immediately greeted and helped. Still no help for me. I decided that if I picked up a shoe and no one came to assist me, I would take my business elsewhere. Eventually, (15 minutes later) I was asked what size shoe I needed. Last year, after having had some chronic knee, pelvic and newly added lower back pain I went to the Dr. and ended up seeing a podiatrist and now wear custom orthotics daily for a leg length discrepancy and to prevent the overpronation that had occurred from years of compensation. My first pair of orthotics from the podiatrist were NOT cheap. So I'd been on the hunt for some for affordable backup orthotics. I tried two different brands, the first pair was manufactured internationally and the other pair I had to get through my chiropractor who I know longer see. I started my search again cause I didn't want to have to rely on order through a provider. That's when I found Foot Dynamics. I was impressed at their unique foot mold approach since the first two pairs of backups did the foam mold. They provide a wide variety of orthotics for different purposes, I was on the search for somewhere that provided waterproof ones for paddle boarding. They also modify Birkenstocks which I've yet to have done yet, but was a bonus cause trying to wear orthotics in sandals is frustrating. On top of that, these were some of the most affordable custom orthotics I found and they are based in Boise, which was important to me to support a local-ish company. Upon ordering my first pair I received the impression kit and thorough instructions. It was interesting, but trust in their unique mold process. There was some misunderstanding on my order form, partially my fault, and upon receiving the first pair of orthotics, I clarified what I had intended and they sent me a return label, made the modification and sent them back quickly. Now having 3 pairs of orthotics that looked vastly different, but all supposedly with a 1/4" lift, I was concerned. I made an appointment with my podiatrist just to get some validation to switch over and give these a try. They've been great and have noticed some more improvement with this pair even over the original pair from my podiatrist. Kevin and team worked with me to sort everything out and we willing to help me get to the bottom of things. I appreciated their patience and extra attention to ensure the orthotics were going to work for me. And not being local to Boise, this was all an online experience with a few phone calls with Kevin. Now that I've broken these ones in, I plan on purchasing a few different styles for different activities, eventually modifying my Birkenstocks. Based on how these have been feeling, it's unlikely that I'll go back to my original orthotics from the podiatrist or my first pair of backup orthotics. read more

I have had lots of foot pain for about a month. Went to my doctor and had xrays. Nothing broken. I had heard about foot dynamics from my husband and daughter and called for one of there clinicians appts. Just got molded fit to me shoe inserts on friday and now i am back to my walking and my constant foot pain is gone. I have a year to get the insole worked on to insure it works. chronic pain has been my companion for many many years. But since my right knee had been replaced about a year ago, I had had pain in my lower back especially. Medication and massage didn't work to ease the situation. someone recommended I go to see foot dynamics. I envisioned having to wear very unattractive shoes to give me any kind of relief. The clinician was so friendly and understanding, and the solution was so simple. She simply put a wedge in my left shoe and sent me home. Almost immediately my pain level decreased in my lower back to almost nothing. I was to return with the rest of my shoes to have the same process done but unfortunately I got a severe case of bronchitis, so I have not yet returned but I will as soon as I am healthy again. This is the best place for hiking shoes for me. REI has plenty but none fit as well as what Foot Dynamics offers. They are extremely knowledgeable about what they carry and what else is on the market. I've purchased many shoes from them. If I needed work shoes I would buy them here also. There website said they would recraft my Birkenstocks to "like new" condition. All I got was new soles and footbed, the leather tops, strap came back stained and worn looking, the leather got no attention at all and I wish I had saved some money and just ordered the "resole" offering. But they offered "like new" for 35.00 more. So based on the Website pics where they show before and after pics I mailed off my birks, so excited at the prospect and so dismayed when I got them back. Horrible online experience. I ordered a repair and waited days for email instructions on how to send them in. I contacted them, and they told me I "messed up" and simply missed the "obvious" instructions on sending them in at the end of the online carting process, which didn't matter because they don't do Boston repairs any longer. I asked for a refund, and it has been going on for two weeks with no luck. I would highly suggest you take your business elsewhere. read more

I am a massage therapist and a very active person, therefore, I spend a lot of time on my feet. I have been experiencing pain in the lateral part of my left foot, I have bone spurs on the top of both feet and my legs were aching after just two hours of standing. I went to Foot Dynamics after seeing them at a fitness event. One of their podiatrists (yes, a real doctor not a sales person), analyzed my feet and molded custom forms specific to my feet. Within two days my custom orthotics were ready because they manufacture them in house. I was expecting them to be somewhat uncomfortable the first time I put them on, but they were not. In fact, I could tell immediately that they were going to help. I have only had them a few days, but what an improvement! I am very happy with my decision to go to FD! As a side note, they also sell great shoes, but there is NO pressure to buy from them. Needless to say, I walked out the door with two new pairsof shoes. I know people who have spent over $1000 at another "box" store orthotic seller and that was just for the "off the shelf" orthotics. I had an issue with my shoe. Sales staff were dismissive. Expensive shoes (Astral brand). Shoe materials were breaking down after 3 months and they suggested it was my foot's fault? Didn't have my receipt with me, They said they never sold the color I had. Seemed like they were calling me a liar? Kind of insulting. Referred me to shoe repair shop around the corner. Maybe they make a lot of those referrals? In my view the floor sales staff don't know nearly as much as they pretend to in the name of shameless commerce.
