The service also left a lot to be desired, my biggest complaint was that it would take AGES for our food to arrive. In hindsight I understand why there were a lot of corporate gatherings when I was at the restaurant, especially attending around the holidays. I'm sure flashy performances and mildly exotic food would be a hit for the accounting team.

It said established in 1919, so we thought it's a good sign it's been in business over a century; although not this location specifically. Their history in the 20th century was that they started in Berlin, Germany in 1919, but they were a Jewish family who ended up immgrating to Israel in 1933, opening their store there, and expanded locations throughout Israel. Their history in Toronto & North America (including some in the US) is much more recent since opening in 2017. Unfortunately, my closest is New York City; none in Maryland or DC area. This location is in busy downtown Toronto. We sat outside on their big patio area as the weather was warm and could enjoy the view of the buildings, people, cars, etc. Server was friendly answering our questions. I ended up getting an egg benedict with salmon in a croissant. It was creative and delicious take on egg benedict. The only issue was it was messy to eat in the croissant, but I didn't care as it was so delicious. My girlfriend got a Belgian waffle with blueberries, whipped cream, etc. It was unique and very good & sweet too as I tried a bite. Staff are polished, attentive, and actually know the menu. Recommendations were on point, and everything felt seamless without being overbearing. It's the details that make it stand out, the attention to detail and the care when serving and presenting the food. Food 4.5/5 Went with the lunch menu (great value with an appetizer and main). Quality is consistent with what you'd expect from Milos: fresh, simple, and done properly. They're also mindful of time; if you mention you're on a tight schedule, they can accommodate a one-hour lunch without making it feel rushed. Had the salmon along with salmon tartare and the octopus. We were celebrating my wife's birthday with another couple and added the Milos Special and extra Santorini Fava. Highlights: crisp, well-seasoned eggplant and zucchini from the Milos Special, and sublime grilled octopus -- charred outside, tender inside. The lamb chops were delicious, though juices from the steamed veg made the fries soggy. Service is where it fell apart. No one explained that the Santorini Fava was a puree, not whole beans -- tasty, but clearly meant as a dip we never got instructions for. I used it on my lamb instead. At the end of the meal, a passing server (not our actual waiter, who'd vanished) told us the set menu didn't include dessert. We believed them. Then servers brought out one slice of birthday cake with a candle, a great gesture but kind of odd for us all to sit around with this one slice. My wife asked for a few more forks so we could pretend we were eating at the trough, so befitting for this calibre of restaurant right? Our waiter reappeared with a table service à la carte dessert selection we weren't interested in. Only later, at home, did we learn the set menu actually included dessert -- karydopita or seasonal fruit. Another service disappointment that sours one's taste. The restaurant wasn't busy, yet our waiter disappeared repeatedly. What was with that? We looked, he wasn't serving others. No surprise there's no Michelin star or Bib Gourmand here. The food was mostly excellent, but the service was unacceptable for this tier. We won't return, and we'll warn friends off. Management should follow up with our waiter, Margelo, to see if this was a one-off.

I generally settle on the beef and chicken mixed plate, and considering the price I find this combo hard to beat elsewhere. As far as quality goes, the food is great but it is fast food, so don't expect a Michelin-star restaurant.
