Super slow service. We went for lunch and had to wait almost 45 mins even for take out. We had some vegetarian friends with us who asked the host if it would be possible to substitute the meat in their sandwiches with a soy or veggie pattie and he very rudely told them that this was not the place for them and they were not a vegetarian restaurant. We can read, thank you very much! We knew it wasn't a vegetarian restaurant which is why we asked about the possibility of substitution. There are plenty of other restaurants serving the same cuisine here and we'll go there the next time. read more

We usually eat our Sunday brunch here and get different kinds of egg benedicts. It's very tasty. Yesterday we went here for a happy hour dinner (5-30pm to 7-00pm) EVERYTHING on the menu is 50% off! Are you kidding me?? Full size entrees for like 12-15 dollars. You can't beat these prices anywhere on the island. From now on, this is my to-go place for dinner. As a party of 3, we had appetizers, 3 full entrees, cappucinos and 1 dessert and the total was 75$. Wow. Absolutely amazed with this summer special. read more

We came across Azur circuitously - we couldn't seem to get reservations at our first or second choice. What luck! This place is the real deal - a passionately run restaurant in a tourist town. We were warmly greeted, and seated quickly, with water and menus. There were four of us, and we were not overly hungry, so we began with just two appetizers: the confit of octopus and the beef carpaccio with arugula, Parmesan cheese and truffle oil. Both were excellent. There was enough to share, and even the non-octopus eater declared it delicious. Two of our party went on to have Osso Bucco, one had the chicken with spinach, and I had a local swordfish special that was grilled and included broccolini, gigante beans, small shrimp and a delicious light lemon sauce. Everything was very fresh and intensely flavorful. I am always looking for that sweet spot between health and pleasure, and this restaurant really hit the mark. Very delicious and creative! And the waiter was especially nice, with a deft touch in pouring wine. We're thinking about going back tomorrow night. So fabulous! read more

Went for dinner last night. Ordered the lamb shank. Mostly fat. You get more meat with a 99 cent burger at McDonalds. Found the waiter pretentious and self serving. The rest of the plate was a smattering of items that pass for Mediterranean but lacked any real flavor. My family and I dined at Azur on Christmas Eve. When we arrived on time for our reservation we checked in with a server and were told someone would be right with us. We waited for 25 minutes to be sat as other parties that arrived after us were taken to their tables even though our table was clearly available. No explanation, no apologies. We were ignored by our waiter for another 30 minutes after being sat. We didn't even hear the specials of the evening until close to an hour after arriving on time for our reservation. 45 minutes is an unacceptable amount of time to wait on any night to be acknowledged, but on Christmas Eve is is downright disrespectful. At least get the table drinks if you know they will be waiting for a while while you attend to other customers. While dining I had the misfortune of seeing an elderly woman complain to her waiter that she had waited 25 minutes for a glass of wine and be told by the server that she needed to be patient because they were busy. Shameful. Wine service was uninformed and sloppy. Table service was sloppy and disorganized. Food was fine, but anything exceptional was ruined by horrible front of house organization. If your serves are unable to run the door, hire a host. read more

Racist restaurant, they don't like kids. We came there for breakfast on memorial day and our 15 months old was throwing some tantrums and we were trying to calm him down, I was thinking of taking him out and soothe him but then the waiter comes down to our table and says- do you want to take your kid out for a while? There are other people having food here. I dint like what he said and me and my wife came out immediately and never thought of going there. We do have some courtesy for others and we would have definitely gone out ourselves if our kid was really crying out load. Food may be good here but self respect is more important. What do you do if a kid is throwing tantrums in an airplane, do you tell him to go out? read more

A short, pleasant walk from our accommodations at Knowles House B&B. Outdoor seating in a tropical garden atmosphere. Smaller plate options for lighter dining was a nice welcome touch. Food was beautifully prepared Mediterranean influenced. Frisee salad with dates had us both eating every morsel; the octopus carpaccio was refreshing; the lamb small pate was cooked a bit longer than I'd recommend, but the sauce was very nice. Service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended. I'll definitely be back. A great neighborhood find. read more

The decision to dine at Azur was an audible as our first choice restaurant was closed but boy, were we pleasantly surprised. The decor is bright and fun and there is indoor and outdoor seating. Service was friendly, professional, and efficient. Decent wine selection, but a little pricey. Ordered the Beef Cous-Cous and it was delicious. Served in a fancy bowl with the beef broth on the side in a teapot. Other group members ordered the Toasted Gnocchi, Beef Gnocchi, and Yellow Snapper and raved about their meals as well. For dessert, you have to try the Lavender Creme Brûlée. BEST creme brûlée any of us has ever had. read more

Amazing meal this evening. Great appetizers (octopus x 2). Special appetizer: salad with lamb bacon/sausage and fried egg that was killer. Gnocchi (fried) was stunning. My guest had an omelette that was forgettable and overcooked. No matter as I had the braised lamb ribs (an Almost Entree) which was great. Second time we have dined at this gem and it just keeps getting better. Crab Blt and Grilled Yellow Tail Snapper are great. The Panacotta is a must even if you're not a dessert person. We ate here for brunch. The prices were reasonable and service was good. The outdoor patio was a nice environment for a meal. Our food gets mixed reviews. I got the dentice salad and was quite disappointed as it was very lacking in flavor. An unseasoned piece of sauteed fish sat atop unseasoned crabmeat atop arugula that tasted like it had been dressed only in olive oil. The only thing on the salad with any flavor was the roasted tomatoes. My boyfriend's steak sandwich, on the other hand, was very tasty and we both really liked the shoestring fries. read more

We went to KW for a mini-honeymoon and ate at Azur the first night. We were so blown away by the quality of the food that we came back again the next night for dessert! Everything we tried was so delicious and well-prepared...you can tell they put a lot of time into developing the flavors. It is not cheap, but if you are looking for a nice dinner out, this is a great choice, plus it is in a quieter area a little off the KW beaten path. The staff is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the menu and the food prep. The chef (Michael) will often come out and talk to customers. The pulpo and seafood risotto were particularly delicious. And if you are staying for dessert, go for the espresso panna cotta! But I'm sure the entire menu is fantastic. Fantastic food with a Mediterranean flair- we had the yellowtail snapper in lemon caper sauce- an excellent, tender fish in a flavorful preparation; soft shell crabs; tuna carpaccio; chicken; and oysters.... Azur is a great restaurant hidden away in Key West. It reminds me of many restaurants I have enjoyed in Europe. I like the fact it is a relatively small place with great service. The food was so good and while it was very sophisticated, they served very quickly. With one appetizer, two main courses and two glasses of wine, it was just over $100.00. A very nice atmosphere, friendly service, and very well prepared food. We had the mussels and the fried squid as appetizers. Both were tasty. Mussels had an excellent broth and they were clearly fresh. Squid was nicely spiced and very tender. Entrees were Black Grouper and the toasted gnocchi. My wife loved the gnocchi, describing it as "fabulous." The grouper was obviously fresh, served in a subtle broth. Limited wine selection. The food was delicious!!! The gnocchi I stole from my dad were light as heaven and my grouper was fantastic. My only complaint (I don't take a star off because I loved the food) was that service was very weird and sub-par. I don't want to sound paranoid but it was like the waiter was ignoring us (he passed us five times before he came pick up our plates even though my dad has waived him!!). We came here after escaping the noise, craziness and crappy service of Alonzo's. We shared a dz oysters and then left. Went to Azur on a recommendation from our resort (Santa Maria Suites - also 5 star) and it was absolutely fantastic. Went with 3 others. Although most restaurants in Key West don't take reservations, this one does and you should. It's the place for foodies. Lovely atmosphere, great music, the service is on point, super friendly and not stuffy at all. They made great recommendations for dinner and also for other places in KW. We had the olives and salt cod croquettes for starters, then cardamon smoked salmon salad with a fennel nest, and arugula salad. I had the special which was a black grouper with roasted vegetable cous cous, shrimp and octopus broth. My partner had a grilled rib eye, friends had mushroom gnocchi and the mussels. We shared a nice reasonable Merlot and the server brought out some wonderful dessert wine to go with our shared panna cotta and apricot and almond crepe, which he didn't charge us for. I eat dinner here every few years and am always pleased with my meal. This time around I had the pear endive salad, which is a long time favorite. I also had the octopus confit. The octopus was charred, served piping hot, and very spicy with loads of garlic oil. This restaurant serves only wine and beer. The beer selection is very limited, but the wine choices include a pleasing selection of reds and whites by the glass $8-12. The dinner menu ranges in price from tasting plates for $5 to salads and appetizers around $12-14, "almost entrees" for $18- 20 and full entrees for $27-32. The service is always pleasant but can be over or under whelmed depending on how many people show up. read more

Well away from the hustle and bustle of Duval St, and worth the extra walk or taxi ride. Stayed in Key West just before Christmas, and this was easily the best meal had while on vacation. It's nothing terribly flashy, and I didn't find it as pricey as it could have been had it been located in a major metropolitan area. The food was interesting, well thought out and DELICIOUS. I highly recommend the breakfast-esque lamb bacon appetizer (yes, that's bacon made from lamb - it was outstanding). Also had bites of the gnocchi (pine nuts and truffle oil topped it off) and pork ribs (only complaint during the meal is that they were under seasoned). Would definitely pay them a visit on my next trip to KW! read more

We dined at many amazing restaurants this week in Key West but this restaurant was exceptional. Everything was impressive beginning with the service (perfectly timed courses, knowledgeable waitstaff regarding wine who made excellent suggestions). The food was exquisite. Key west is an incredibly competitive place to serve seafood. I ate numerous dishes of seafood at every meal at every restaurant I went to. This was the most fresh (we had yellowfin tuna and wahoo carpaccio and their grouper special as an entree) and the way it was prepared was the most simple and inspired. The fish was able to shine among the delicate sauces and spices it was served with. We savor end every bite we ate. This was a meal I will not forget. read more

We had a very nice meal here on a Saturday night. Their infused olive oil served with warm bread was very tasty. The stuffed dates were delicious and my duck confit was tender, served with roasted brussels sprouts. My husband had the snapper and enjoyed it.
