I recently ended up with some foreign material in my eye. I immediately flushed it with saline and called it a day... or so I thought. After two days of continued irritation I was concerned enough to call and inquire about an appointment before the long Thanksgiving weekend, and was fortunate to get one same day. I must confess that I was a little apprehensive as I had never heard of the available doctor, but I was experiencing enough discomfort to give it a shot. Enter Dr. Marina Awadalla, O.D. I could not have had a more positive experience! Dr. Awadalla is congenial, knowledgeable, extremely kind, and very thorough. I am thankful (pun intended!) on this Thanksgiving Eve that I was fortunate enough to receive care from such a consummate professional. I would be remiss if I did not mention Jackie, a simply amazing assistant with the requisite personality and all of the professional qualities of anyone dedicated to medical care. The whole LASIK procedure took no more than 10 minutes. The longest part was the final eye exams and waiting for the medication to kick in. I recommend 100 times over! This was a positive life changing decision and it was done with a great team!

Hello Everyone, it is with heavy heart that I write this negative review for Pacific Eye Center in…read moreColton. Dr. Erika Saucedo is a kind person, and when I found her and decided she was the right person to do my cataract surgery, I was impressed by her bedside manner and her enthusiasm. I thought it would be quick and simple. My husband had surgery for two cataracts last year somewhere else, and he did well, so I was very excited to be able to see again, due to the fact I am now the only person to drive in my family. Well, unfortunately, the doctor did not explain that I had a stigmatism and needed a different lens that would have cost an additional $2000 dollars. No person mentioned this at any time. All my senior friends with stigmatism never had any of my problems. So after the surgery, I had it January 23, by May 17, my sight went from 20/30 to 20/50 and it is getting worse and worse. I now can not see to drive or to read or to watch TV with subtitles, etc. etc. etc. I spoke to the doctor and she sent me to a Laser surgeon to pay $2200 out of pocket for correction, but I asked her to bill my medical for "medical surgery necessity" because the laser place expects me to pay out of pocket and then get reimbursed. I called the manager of the company to speak to her about the issue, and to ask that the medical surgery information be sent to my insurance, due to the fact that this issue is not because of vanity, but medical necessity for sight. She never returned my calls. After another month, I called and made an appointment with the doctor to meet to discuss. The manager never showed up or participated in any of these meetings. I have waited another 3 weeks and finally last week, I heard from the manager stating that she would submit the paperwork. Again nothing done. I am very dissatisfied with the organization, the doctor is sweet and kind, but the manager is very incompetent and should be replaced by someone with logic, responsibility and functionality. Will update when something fixes the problem. Will now have to report organization and doctor to applicable Boards, BBBf and other places.

Each time I have gone in has been great. No complaints. The staff here really care about you and will treat you with respect and more than just a number. I've gone to too many places where it is noticeable they don't care about you or your eyes, just money. This place is not one of them. Every time I've gone in, the staff are chatting with customers asking about their kids/their families. You can tell this place has regulars and that's a green flag in my book. Dr. Everitt is amazing. I went in for new glasses and to try on contacts. I have been trying to find my perfect pair of contacts for the past 3 years. Other optometrists I've been to said my migraines were normal or made excuses for the blurriness by saying "my vision will never be perfect again like it was before I started wearing glasses". Dr. Everitt was the only one who listened to my concerns and tried different options to see which contact prescription and brand works for my eyes. No headaches when I wear contacts and it feels like I'm not wearing anything at all! She is amazing! I also want to give a quick shoutout to the staff who are all so nice and caring. Most recently Desiree and Emily who helped me order contacts and then also gave me some trial contacts to use because my order would not get here in time for my vacation. Thank you!

However, my recent experience with the staff has been quite frustrating. My son went in on February 27th for new glasses, and here we are in April with still no glasses. The excuse given was that they have a new lab and his high prescription takes longer. While I understand that some prescriptions require extra time, we've used Costco for his glasses before, and they had them ready in just a week. Waiting almost two months for glasses is unacceptable, especially when we've never waited this long before. The estimated arrival date is now April 21st, which feels excessive. I've heard that the practice is under new management, which might be contributing to these service delays. While I appreciate Dr. Everette's care, the inefficiencies and lack of communication from the staff have been disappointing. As long-time patients, we expect better service, especially considering the costs associated with our glasses. I hope 20/20 Vision can address these staff issues and improve the overall experience for their patients.
