We ordered Aztec Willies Vegan Taqueria on Uber Eats and were hugely dissatisfied by what was delivered. We ordered two tostada salads which sounded delicious from it's description: Chopped romaine, roasted corn, chopped cucumbers, chopped tomatoes, black beans, shredded vegan cheese, and avocado, choice of vegan protein. The bowl was 90% lettuce, 5% veggies accompanied by other veggies not listed like onions or jalapeño, and 3% vegan protein (the only good part of the bowl), 2% NOT roasted corn, 0% beans and vegan cheese. Not sure why it's called a Tostada salad when there is no tostada to be found either. They were $18 each... yea no. We're still waiting on our refund from Uber Eats. Will not be ordering from their vegan menu again. Such a money grab with no intention behind the food they serve.

Rude to my husband because they packed a pick up order for dine in.Person assisting my husband raised his tone with my husband and my husband said they were unorganized as well. Food is not worth the treatment in a "progressive" city that is constantly rude to black customers. Was trying to support a local business and regret it. Minorities can be anti - black and this establishment has shown that in a " progressive" city. Do not recommend whatsoever Ole Ole off Burnside has way better taquitos for half the price! They deserve the money not Aztec Willies.

Stopped in for a drink after some bitoque shopping. The bartender was very nice. There was a regular there named Big Daddy who kept hitting on me behind his girlfriends back. My friend and I had our drink and dipped out. Seemed like a cool kick back place if you live in the area or happen to be visiting. One of the Hispanic tall cooks was super cute. I'm sure he makes some great food lol.

Never had salsa left over and I scoop.

Meh. Well whisky too expensive. 2 tacos for $11 wasn't worth more than $6. Free chips and salsa and service was great. Dance instruction was just ok. Must've been an ongoing lesson. Didn't rotate partners so if odd man out you're SOL. Probably won't return unless a woman invites me, but she's gotta be worth it.

The $9 salsa and chips were good with a variety of 3 homemade salsas. The refried beans were made with white beans instead of the usual red beans. The Mexican rice was fine, but I make it better. My main beef was the portion size was small in relation to the price. The amount of meat in proportion to the sautéed peppers and onions in the fajitas was 1 to 3, so not very beefy for the $21 price tag. See photos of menu. The other beef is the wait staff was unable to answer basic service questions: "may I have more chips to finish up this delicious salsa?" ("let me go ask the owner") and "how much is a bottle of Mexican soda?" (5 min later after asking someone, "$3.50"). And last, ("is the smoked brisket fajita made with pork or beef?") ("I don't know...) ("That's okay...I'm okay with either)". The two young ladies were earnest and trying to do a good job. The owner/chef came out to check on us, which I thought was a nice touch. Granted, I came in at 2pm for lunch on a Sunday, which is usually a low-staff time for most restaurants. I'm used to being fed well when I go out for Mexican. Here, it just felt like there was a lot of penny pinching and cutting of corners.

First time visiting such amazing menu, you know it's a real Mexican making Mexican food. Such a great variety duck carnitas empanadas they even had crickets on the guacamole! This is an interesting place. Large dining area and plenty of tables for you to sit at! I've gotten the Nachos here and they're delicious! A lot of meat an led topping with lots of flavor. The salsas we got made it even better! My wife got a blended strawberry margarita and she loved it! I got a michelada, which I would say, I've had better. Service wasn't too bad! The people who brought us salsas were very nice, and although we weren't expecting to be checked on, they did! It's a nice spot if you go drinking and just want some greasy food. I've heard there's dance lessons certain days but I wouldn't be able to tell you! Worth a visit.

Came to dance, enjoyed great food and drinks too! Their lavender lemon drop is delicious and the nachos were great. Joined in on the salsa dancing lessons at 9:30pm on a Saturday night and ended up staying for hours. What a cool place!

The food was fresh, the service speedy, and I imagine if it were later this place would be hopping! Looks like a great place to dance the night away!

    Passion Argentina - HIGHLY recommended!
    Thomas M.

The food here is not bad - nothing special, really, but satisfying. The drinks are good, at least the Passion de Argentina can be if you get the right bartender! I sometimes get a tamarind margarita as well, which is not bad, although it separates very fast so you have to keep stirring. But tastes great! But I tend to have issues with the service. For example, yesterday's experience. 6 tables full, so I stand at the "Wait to be Seated" sign. 6 minutes goes by before anyone says hello or looks at me. Then they tell me I can simply seat myself and that she would take care of me. 20 minutes later, I have my laptop out playing a game because nobody has said hello yet again. I ask for a menu, and order a drink, salad and nachos. The nachos come with sour cream and guac, which I asked to not have. She apologizes and has the kitchen remake. Then my partner says "it is sitting there on the warmer, that is probably yours". Several minutes goes by before the nachos are brought. By that time, the salad has been eaten. Our server comes back, grabs the salad plate, puts it on top of the half-eaten nachos and starts to walk away with it. I say "Noooooooo...", and she apologizes again. Later, I get the bill, and it is also wrong, so I have to then correct that. This is fairly typical, but still a decent place to chill if you are waiting for someone, have some chips and guac and a drink or two.

    TOGO boxes stickered shut. Nice!

I am driven by this place many times and never ever tried it. So I decided to place a take-out order today In my efforts to support Portland small restaurant owners. After reviewing their menu online I noticed they had "aged ribeye" enchiladas and tacos. I was super excited because Ribeye isn't something that many Mexican restaurants. Ribeye is my thing! So I ordered up the aged ribeye Enchiladas that come with beans and rice... And one ribeye taco. It was ready within 20 minutes. First thing I noticed was they stapled the bag shut and placed a sticker on the boxes over the opening to prevent tampering if you were to get delivery. Love that! So usually when you get steak it's sliced not looking like ground beef so it is un-identifiable. The meat looked like coarse ground hamburger that was used in the taco and enchiladas. If I'm paying for steak I don't want it looking like ground beef! So now I'm wondering what the mystery meat really is? That sucks! I gave it a taste and the meat was tough and had a large content of gristle. That pretty much ruined my appetite right there and I just ate the rice and beans that was just ok. So no, I won't be trying this again.

The best thing to come from SNL in years is, without a doubt, Stefon, the uber-hip club kid and…read moreCity Correspondent on SNL's Weekend Update. His recommendations for things like "family-friendly holiday activities" or Mother's Day brunch inevitably begin with "NY's hottest club is..." and he then goes on to describe completely absurd parties that sound like "visions a dying gay man would have if he was under too many blankets", including all-night secret raves featuring performance art like "human luggage" (midgets on roller skates you wheel through airports). Compare some Stefon skits with the usual descriptions of Blow Pony, and I'll bet my boa you might not be able to distinguish them. After all, BP's got bears, chubs, hawks, cocks, pigs, trannys, queens, shirt lifters, pillow biters, crap stabbers, furries, femmes, and knob shiners. Stefon would feel right at home, especially if it was Teddy Graham Night (you know... men with short arms and big bellies). Blow Pony, a monthly event, was started in 2007 as a place where "all our brothers and sisters felt welcome and loved." They list their primary concerns and involvement as being in queer rights, trans rights, women's rights, and "a search in the dumpster for more trash." There's a big sign at the entrance making it known that if you are racist, homophobic, sexist, or just generally do not like hard-partyin' weirdos, this is not the party for you. The venue itself (Rotture/Branx) is a filthy, hot, sweaty mess, and it does get packed to the gills. You will meet new friends. You will get drinks spilled on you. You will be dripping sweat from head to toe. You will dance with strangers. You will see people of every imaginable body type wearing anything from... well, nothing, to clown suits, to pony costumes, to dominatrix outfits. You will also see people in jeans and tshirts; it's definitely not about the wacky get-ups but those are a bonus. There are generally 4-5 different DJs for each event, both upstairs (Rotture) and downstairs (Branx), frequently out-of-town guests and some local celebs. There's a no-frills bar on each level, pouring beer and simple mixed drinks in plastic cups. The bathroom lines get insane. Just past the pinball machines on the upper level, there's a rickety old deck that I cannot believe has not been shut down yet. It gets so goddamned hot in the party, everyone pours onto the deck, and you can feel the damn thing swaying, like it's going to give out any second. It overlooks the Tazo tea factory, which gives off a most wonderful aroma, thank God. I've seen some wicked crazy shit at these parties. I don't really have a more eloquent way to put that. Once, a woman on stage in a hot teal corset threw a chain around my neck. I found out later it was a famous singer that I didn't recognize. At the last BP I attended, I got motorboated, on stage, by a woman in red underpants, and danced with a man dressed as a skunk. This was moments before we convinced an especially attractive but normally shy friend of ours to ascend the go-go dancer platform. Clothing was removed, and that's probably as much as I should say. Five stars for the enthusiasm and for Keeping Portland Weird, though I could break that down to less for some of the trickier aspects of these events, like the super-long lines, icky bathrooms and occasionally less-than-stellar DJs. BUT, I still go with a fiver for the general wacky experience. There is a good time to be had here, people. When the DJs are good, they are very good. One of my favorite Stefon bits - "New York's hottest club is Twice... where you will be greeted at the door by a Rabbi that looks like Joaquin Phoenix... and human fire hydrants. You know, it's that thing when high-waisted midgets have, like, the red pants and the big ass." Or, even better - "New York's hottest club is Creep... lights, psychos, furbies, and screaming babies in Mozart wigs." I wouldn't put any of those things past Blow Pony, no sir. If Bill Hader, the gifted actor who plays this Stefon gentleman ever comes to town, I will make it my personal mission to get him to attend, solely for more (and non-fiction!) material for the skit. It's a helluva good time and one of about 178764 reasons I love Portland, where this kind of debaucherous behavior is not only normal, but welcomed and encouraged. We are blessed, dear reader. Blessed by the Pony. Psst: If you haven't seen a Stefon skit, here's an example http://www.mediaite.com/online/bill-haders-stefan-struggles-to-keep-a-straight-face-on-weekend-update/

I WAS VIOLENTLY ASSAULTED BY STAFF AT 45 EAST, BE VERY CAREFUL IF YOU GO HERE!!!…read more I have been to 45 East many times, including open houses, larger artists, and on the guest list/backstage for an artist I know personally. I have probably been here 20+ times, and I always had fun. I have heard horror stories of girls being drugged and raped while security stands by, and I was hesitant to go but wanted to introduce my friend to the EDM scene. I much prefer festivals as the PLUR vibe is much more welcoming, but this seemed like a good start 95% of the night was amazing, I traded multiple people for their Kandi and even had someone across the club (it was a 360 set) hold up a sign complimenting my glasses! Unfortunately 10 mins before the set ended everything changed. I was at the front with my friend right behind me and two girls randomly came up and started slamming into me and scratching me. This happens sometimes when people want to rush the rail before the end, and thats ok I just stay where I'm at and let people move along, or let security handle them. Very normal festival/edm concert behavior. Then I hear a man start shouting at me to get off the rail. Again, this is weird and aggressive, so I ignore them and look around to see if anything is happening or if they are talking to someone else. I see nothing so i just continue head-banging with everyone else. Then, out of nowhere, i feel someone strong grab my arms and shoulders, and then my neck and start pulling me back. I panicked and screamed for help, as I was being assulted by someone I didnt know. This person proceeded to drag me off the rail and halfway across the floor while I was trying to figure out if I needed to defend myself when it hit me. Nobody was helping me, this must be security! So i start screaming "what did I do" and the person ignored me and threw me out the door and told me to leave and "fuck off" At no point did the person say they were security. At no point did they say anything to indicate to me what the issue was. I can only guess one of the girls that wanted the rail said something to him and he got upset that i ignored him. I had absolutely no way to know who he was, the club was loud, dark, packed, and the only words he said were "i don't fucking care" When I got home my partner was shocked, I had scratches and cuts and large bruises on my shoulders, neck, ribs, arms, and wrists. Do. Not. Go here. Nobody will believe or care about what happened to me because I'm not in a vulnerable demographic, but I was physically assaulted for absolutely no reason by someone who did not identify themselves and escalated a non existent situation. I cant imagine what could happen to someone more defenseless than myself. I will be reaching out to 45 east about what happened, and I expect no response, but will update if I get one.
