Lunch portion of butter chicken came with rice, nan & soup or salad. I wouldn't say it was exceptional, but it hit the spot and all was very palatable. I'd come back if in the neighborhood. This time, me and my boyfriend went for lunch service. Its a geeat deal since it is cheaper and certain lunch entrees comes with a salad or soup. This time we tried one new item. The lamb korma. I haven't had the pleasure of dining here since...well..covid. We have instead ordered a few takeout meals from here and the food definitely hits the spot. I particularly love the garlic naan- it was still warm when we got home and was super buttery soft. It was the perfect vessel to scoop up the butter chicken. I've also tried their biriyani- while they deliver on spice (I always asked for extra spicy) the mutton biriyani was ok. I found there to be less meat than I expected. We will continue to visit! For the name and price, this place is an utter disappointment. The taste was confusing as they tried to overdo what could be simple flavor. The chat was mushy with excessive sauce; soy chap was cold like they forgot to grill the marinated refrigerated chap, kabobs nothing looked like kabob in texture. What a waste!! We ordered lamb, chicken lobster curries but none of them looked well prepared in appearance and texture. All kinds of naan were having thick lumpy dough! Rice was good. Eggplant entree was decent. Price for the items are outrageous but could be acceptable if it is for some sorts of culinary marbles. This is a more upscale Indian cuisine restaurant but for what I like (butter chicken) I can find at cheaper restaurants. We ordered butter chicken, tikka masala, an appetizer of Brussel sprouts ($12), and 4 baskets of naan lol. The naan was amazing. The brussels had a kick to them with the addition of the chili honey but it was really good. They do not have traditional soft drinks and other but they options were appealing. My friend asked for a fruit punch and they gave her a pineapple orange ginger mix which we said was good, and another friend said the sweet tea tasted like it had real cane sugar. I do not like Indian food. Having said this, the food here is amazing! Of particular note are the cocktails with the bubbles on top. I went with an Indian friend who ordered everything. The naan was incredible and so many different ones to try. The scallops, salmon, and lamb were also wonderful. Everything looked so beautiful that I actually took photos. I would give this place a 3 star mainly because atmosphere and presentation of food was amazing. However the food taste could be more flavorful. They do appear to put effort into their food items. The gulab jamun dessert for instance was beautiful, and they added some accompaniments ie ice cream. However the taste reminds me of a typical gulab jamun, not necessarily unique. I would give this place another try if taking friends out since nice aesthetics, but it may not necessarily be a place I visit regularly. read more

How have I lived here this long and not made it to Azitra? This place has incredible Indian food!!! The menu is a dream. I cannot wait to try more of their menu. We used Door Dash to grab a date night dinner from here on a busy night and the food was still fresh and hot when we got it! We ordered the corn methi malai and the tandoori chicken tikka. We also grabbed an order of garlic naan because that's basically mandatory since it's delicious af. Everything was absolutely amazing!! The complexity of spicing was spot on and the layers of flavors were so perfect. Excited to eat out in their space when our household goes back to eating out again! COVID-19 times update: we did our first outside dining in Covid era for a Saturday brunch. I am generally extremely wary of eating out but Azitra made us very comfortable, all social distancing guidelines in place, sanitizer at entry, everyone in masks, even the person taking the order stood masked AND 6 ft away. We will be back!!! Food outstanding just as posted in earlier times. We went here to celebrate an occasion and it sure did deliver! 5 stars: ambience, cocktails, service, appetizers, naan quality, desserts, plating, serving temperatures, quality of food. 4 stars: vegetarian entrees We got 3 of their cocktail offerings: Dhishoom, lycheetini, Bombay Rain. All of them were fantastic but the Serrano infused pineapple based Dhishoom totally stole the show! First courses and specials: Gobi Manchurian (crispy version) was beautifully flavored and the indo-Chinese flavors were perfect. Paneer tikka grilled: oh boy this is beautiful! The Paneer had delicate flavors and was charred to perfection. The carrots, broccoli and cauliflower on the skewers were a great combo. As opposed to a traditional yogurt mint chutney, this was served with a tomato tikka based dip. Loved it! Entree: Dal fry came with yellow moong lentils which was a new concept to me (compared to the Chana or tuver Dals usually served) it was delicious. Methi Subz: it was unique but the masala was a tad strong and over powering Here is my major complaint, we asked for Paneer Makhni and Kofta anarkali but the wait staff didn't tell us that it came with the exact same gravy base. Kinda killed the joy cuz it tasted like one curry to us. I'd have appreciated a head up on that. It was a delicious flavor nonetheless. Desserts: They got us their decadent chocolate cake to honor the celebration for our parents anniversary. We got the moong Dal halwa, a really rich dessert and perfectly executed. We ordered the shitake leek tikki and paneer vegetable shashlik for appetizers which were delicious. We ordered the kofta anarkali and dal makhani for the main course which was really yummy. We also ordered the desserts which were unique and tasty, and we loved the paan kulfi. Azitra is not your average Indian restaurant. The restaurant interior is nicer than most. Also, they bring both rice and naan to the table with your meal at no additional cost. In my experience, getting rice with your meal is common, but not naan, and certainly not both at no additional cost. You also get to choose a soup or salad with your meal. Don't remember the last time soup or salad came with my meal at an Indian restaurant. I ordered the samosa appetizer (2 for $5) and saag paneer, and my friend ordered the chicken tikka masala. The samosas were okay. There was one ingredient in them that was sweet and a bit unfamiliar to me when it comes to samosas. I didn't look closely enough to identify exactly what it was though. (I was hungry!) The saag was average to good and the paneer cubes were pretty much perfect in texture. The lunch portion is actually a normal sized portion which is nice because lots of other restaurants make their lunch portions--if they differentiate between lunch and dinner meals by price--a lot smaller. There was no taste or flavor. The naan portion was half of what you typically get in Indian restaurants and it tasted like frozen naan. I absolutely love this place. I came in and sat down at the bar. They gave me the menus and gave incredible recommendations. I went all seafood this visit. Started out with a cocktail and the scallops, which were cooked perfectly and complimented with the sauce. I got a smoked old fashioned next and the octopus. It was cooked perfectly and sauce was incredible. Seasoned perfectly and had a little heat that I liked. Next I got the lobster w/ crab. Lost for words. Everything about the dish was great and cooked perfectly. Highly recommended to get the dessert. They pair it with a cocktail which was amazing. We are pretty regular here and most times tbe experience was outstanding. This review is for thr experience on May 9, 2021. We oredeted to-go. Three items - Gobhi Manchurian, Vegetable Biryani and a Kulfi. Firstly, the quantity of food is very small. I am not sure of its a function of take out. The gobhi manchurian was burnt. Pretty dark and dry. I am not sure how ot passed any quality control they have. The biryani and raita were good. No complaints. Tbe Kulfi was tasty. However, the quantity was EXACTLY one table spoon. This was amazingly fabulous. I went with a vegan friend and we both enjoyed everything we ate. We split the chaat and the Kachumber salad. Today's chaat was, according to our server, avocado and corn -- but it was so much more! Bits of cilantro, banana??, mango, jalapeño, onion, all chopped finely and delicious. The Kachumber salad was a weak point, honestly; my favorite Indian restaurant in West Springfield, Mass., makes it better -- these were large chunks of cucumber with a modest bit of coriander and chunks of not-fresh tomatoes. Then came our entrées -- along with rice and the BEST plain naan I've ever had. The naan had clearly been made and cooked quite recently; it was fluffy and had a light ghee flavor. We oohed & aahed over the cumin-infused rice, which might have also been flavored with ghee. My friend had the dal, which looked and tasted amazing (she said; I didn't try it), and I had the goat curry. The goat was falling off the bone, and the curry was very flavorful. Popped into this place with some friends for a lunch to catch up on life after vaccinations. The place is clean and the service is attentive, albeit a bit slow. All the food we ordered came out hot and was tasty and the lunch portions were definitely a good size. I did not leave hungry. Love their bread...it is toasted just right.
