Tesla gave us the business card for A Darker Shade. I did my research on Yelp and Chris had 8 great reviews. I talked to Eagle Wraps and EuroCar Detail and Kenyon Auto Cosmetics first, all were $4,500 to get a full body PPF wrap and tint the windows. I told Chris you get what you pay for, (cheap cost = cheap quality) and Chris explained his $3,080.00 price was because: no employees, lower overhead, etc. We never saw the inside of A Darker Shades garage space. We had to wait for Chris to show up when we dropped the Tesla off at his business, as well as when we picked the car up. What a disaster his work was. The entire PPF and the window tint had to be removed because bad cuts, flapping edges and rolled edges. Yes, Chris gave a 12-year warranty, not by SunTech, but by his company, which can be out of business any day. Max, EuroCar Details texted me pictures during the entire removal and new application process. Max applied Xpel film products on the Telsa whole body and tinting on the windows. Max registered the PPF application on our Tesla's Car Fax, we got a Warranty registered thru Xpel. Had we chosen EuroCars in the 1st place $4,500.00 virus cost to remove everything and proper application at the end $6,140.40. It's the school of hard knocks however the tuition was high for us. Christ did refund the $3080 plus $500. for removal. It cost us $1,640 in that tuition. Do better research than we did.

Bill uses high-quality materials, he used Suntek for my 30% tint and made sure it was legal to drive in California (since I'm not too well-versed in car detailing and legal window tint shades at all). For the 7-year/lifetime ceramic coating, Bill used Opticoat Pro Plus over the body of my car, which has an amazingly smooth and glossy finish. He recommended Opticoat Glass Pro ceramic coating for my windshield and windows as well (to prevent high-speed rock damages on the freeway), which I happily agreed to get. I really appreciated all of Bill's thoughtful recommendations, especially knowing the weather up in the Bay Area where I'm originally from. All of these customizations together cost $1998, which is far less than what I had been quoted by certain shops back in the Bay. Also Bill's turn around time for coating and curing the car was less than 2 days for everything, whereas I had been quoted over a week back in the Bay (and with a much longer commute from where I live!) For the quality of service, details, and kind customer service, I'd recommend any friend in Arizona to go on over and visit Bill for detailing and work - 11/10! They are easily one of the cheapest in the Valley and do great work. My issue and the reason I'm rating only three stars lies in the communication and responsiveness I received from the owner. I had an appointment for Wednesday 8/5/2026. I dropped off after hours and utilized the night drop box which was no problem. I let the owner know what I needed and that I'd like the invoice sent to my email and the key left somewhere we agreed to because I wouldn't be able to get the car until after hours. He told me about Zelle payments to avoid a fee, I told him I wanted credit card points so he agreed to send me an email invoice and told me all of that was no issue. We texted about a wrap for a different car to which he requested to call me about, we spoke about the wrap and pricing, then I reconfirmed that I will be picking the tiny vehicle up after hours, he said to Zelle him, I informed him again about the invoice and he agreed again. He texted me asking if I could meet him at 5:30 to pick my car up and to Zelle him the money. I informed him for the third time now that I would like an emailed invoice and I was going to pick it up after hours. He then tells me at 5:15 he is driving back to the shop and what time can I pick it up. I told him I am not off work until 5:30, so the earliest I could be there is 6:10. He responds at 5:47 asking if I can be there at 6:30, I text him back saying I'm already on my way and will just wait until 6:30. I arrive at 6:10 and inform him I'm here and waiting until when he is ready for me. 6:30 comes, no response, 6:45 comes, I text him again asking if he is still meeting me here. 7:00 comes and I call him, he asks "Can we reconvene in an hour", I let him know I've already been waiting 30 minutes past the time HE told me to be here, on top of the 30 minutes past drive it took to get here. He finally shows up a bit before 7:30 for me to pick up. He asks me to Zelle again, I inform him once again I am going to be using a card. He tell me the total and I pay. As I'm leaving he asks me when I wanted to do the wrap on the other car, I tell him based on my experience today I'm no longer interested in his services and don't trust that I will be communicated with properly. We talk back and forth, his excuse is that he was spoiling his girlfriend all day and time slipped away from him. He offered to give me a free windshield visor (for my cracked windshield that I already told him I didn't want) and an unknown discount on the wrap I was no longer interested in. The only time any accountability was taken was when I told him there was a problem after the fact, even a 5%-10% discount for wasting my time would have made up for it. This entire situation could have been avoided if he just sent me the invoice before closing, I could have used a spare key to get the car and then just gotten the key later. He was more interested in selling me a wrap and trying to force me to Zelle than actually providing quality service. I'm not asking for you to respond instantly or remember every detail about ever customer but when I ask you to send me the invoice via email and three messages later you ask me to Zelle, it's obvious you aren't paying attention to anything I'm saying.

He got me in the very next morning at 8:30, said my car would be ready by 11:30, and it was! I was able to pick it up on my lunch break. Omar was kind, straightforward, knowledgeable, and upfront about pricing. He even thanked me for my business before we got off our first call, which I really appreciated. I went with XPEL PRIME XR nano-ceramic, 99% UV protection and up to 85% heat rejection. 20% all around. He'll do whatever percentage you want while explaining the pros and cons so you can make your own choice. It also comes with a lifetime warranty. His son was there and was also really helpful explaining the ceramic options. I loved the heat lamp demonstration showing how much of a difference the tint makes, especially with the Arizona sun! The displays around the shop were unique too, especially the Predator figure. They told me the figures came from Mexico, which was cool. You can definitely tell it's a family business that takes pride in what they do. One tip: take a picture of your receipt since it's the type that can fade over time and you'll want it for the warranty. Great experience from start to finish, and my car looks amazing. I wish I had taken a before picture so that you could truly appreciate the transformation. They cleaned the car thoroughly and left it looking like new. They even buffed out marks on the paint that I thought couldn't be removed. Since my daughter is new to Arizona, they recommended getting the windows tinted. I scheduled an appointment to do that the next day. It makes a big difference in the car temperature. I was so impressed that we may get our car done next time we drive out here from California to visit our daughter. They do an amazing job!

I would not recommend this company…read more I made an appointment through Yelp and scheduled my vehicle for window tinting on a Friday at 10:00 a.m. I was originally told the job would take only a couple of hours, and my plan was to wait for the vehicle. When I arrived, I was informed they were running behind and that the car would likely be ready around 3:00 p.m. They told me they would call about 30 minutes before pickup. By 3:00 p.m., I still hadn't heard anything, so I called them myself. I was then told the car would be ready in about 30 minutes. I headed over and picked it up. When I got home, I noticed they had removed my dash camera in order to install the tint, which is understandable. However, they did not properly remove the adhesive stickers associated with the camera. On one side, it appears they cut the tint around the sticker, leaving the edge of the tint lifted. On the other side, they applied the tint partially over the sticker. Now, if I want to properly remove the sticker and reinstall everything correctly, I would have to risk lifting or damaging the tint. This is something that should have been addressed during installation. The passenger side looked fine, but the work around the dash camera was sloppy and unprofessional. I called the shop, explained the issue, and was told it would be taken care of. I was asked to send photos, which I did immediately. After sending the pictures, I never received a follow-up response. Mistakes happen, but what really disappointed me was the lack of communication and follow-through.
