I'm really impressed and excited with the work that Gutierrez window tint did for my sprinter van. It looks great! Almost CIA van kind of cool! And even more important, it works great: straight away, I noticed it really cutting down on the heat getting through the van through the windows. My AC was much more effective than before in cooling down this expansive sprinter cargo van! Nice!! I did a lot of research on brands and types of window tint. I was really leaning towards the 3M, I think their non-nano ceramic product, but the research indicated that the Xpel "prime XR Plus" product seemed to do a much better job on blocking IR transmission, with the TSER values being similar. And it seemed the prices were similar. I didn't like the Suntek protection numbers, although much cheaper. And bottom line, in Arizona, with those REALLY BIG van windows trying to turn my sprinter into a mobile greenhouse, I needed a lot of protection, and that comes at a premium price. Otherwise, why bother? So before going in, I knew I was going to get the Xpel prime XR plus product and pay for it, and its price similar to a premium 3M product, and Gutierrez pricing competitive with other similar businesses. Responsiveness. Yelp shot-gunned about four window tint places. And the one that I was primarily interested in didn't answer for about three days. But not only did Gutierrez respond immediately, but also with specific quotes and products, which is nice - - no run around! Another merchant responded with prices--about half of what the Gutierrez was--but was very slow to be transparent that it was a Suntek product which IMHO, is about half as good. So you have to do your research beforehand on brands and grades of window tint before talking price, otherwise it can be easy to incorrectly mix apple window tint with orange prices. Scheduling. Was really easy, which can concern you, but there was actually enough people there during the day and it's not like they're desperate for work. I think I just got really lucky and caught them on a less than busy day. People. Danyra Was very nice at reception. Daniel I think was the installer who did a great job, and I think Miguel was the manager and the person that responded to my questions on yelp. They were all very responsive to my questions and concerns. Nice people! Great team! Location. It's in a business strip mall, with the area being very mixed use, so no need to worry about going to rough industrial back lots. Their waiting room was simple and nice and comfortable with some free snacks and light drinks, and they were playing some cool custom car videos. Job. I got the job done in a little bit under three hours, including a MASSIVE windshield, two side windows, and two very large cargo windows that were each further divided into three separate panes. It's nice to be able to have the work done while you wait on-site versus having to drive back-and-forth! Product. I got the Xpel Prime XR Plus all around. I got the 70 (70% of light passes through) on the windshield. And as I was looking at a 3M 90 crystalline product (90% of light passes through) from another source; as I was concerned Xpel 70 (70% of light passes through) might be too dark--but it's not--it's nice. And I've had my sedan with windshield tinting for about a decade, and it is just sooooo nice. It especially really blocks the sun's glare, and makes driving really easy on the eyes. And I believe it's safer than just OEM glass, honestly. I got 35 (35% of light passes through) on the driver and passenger doors, which is as dark as you can get, legally. And that was about perfect. My cargo windows were aftermarket OEM style, with factory tint of 28% light passing through, although unknown IR and TSER protection numbers. So I put the Xpel 70 on those, and they are quite dark now from the outside, but still very easy to see from the inside out. And I'm thinking the equivalent value, if the math works with tinting, is 70% × 28% equals 19.6% pass through, and that looks about right ,visually, as they're darker than the driver/pax windows that are at 35%. And all of the windows look quite dark when the sun hits them, but you can see from the opposite angle when the sun is through them there's still lots of light going through, and from inside there's still lots of visibility, while you're still getting the IR and TSER protection. Anyway, I highly recommend Gutierrez window tint. I like the product. I like the people. The price is competitive. Happy cool Arizona driving! read more
