When I arrived, there were already 16 people ahead of me. I didn't get checked in until about 7:10 AM because the line at the kiosk was so long. A big issue I noticed was that many of the people waiting were walk-ins, which seemed to slow everything down for those of us who had actually booked appointments. The staff was polite, but the system clearly wasn't handling the volume well. Suggestion for improvement: Sonora Quest should offer online check-in in addition to the kiosk. This would let scheduled patients confirm their arrival ahead of time, reduce congestion in the waiting area, and help prioritize appointment holders over walk-ins. Unfortunately, this was not a good experience at all today. I understand labs can get busy, especially in the mornings, but with an appointment I expected a much smoother process. I hope they implement better check-in options soon to make visits more efficient for everyone.

All check ins are done through the kiosks in the waiting area. I found the kiosk easy to use and I only had to wait about 10-15 minutes since I made an appointment through their website. The phlebotomist who helped me was Teanna and she was wonderful! I have notoriously difficult veins, so I always dread getting blood drawn, but she made the process quick and easy. We also had a nice chat about my ear piercings! I would not hesitate to return to this location in the future.

When I arrived I discovered that I definitely need an appointment at this location. This seems to be a new location and the waiting room was very small for the number of people that were waiting. Many people were waiting outside the lab waiting room, because there weren't enough seats. They do have a big TV screen that lets people know where they're at in line which was very appreciated. At first I was number seven in line, but as more and more people came in with appointments, I just kept getting bumped down to the bottom. When I finally decided to leave, I was number 14. This isn't anything that necessarily made me upset because I'm glad that people with appointments were getting called first. I quickly realized that fmmovingmoving forward I definitely need to make an appointment. I ended up leaving and scheduled an appointment in another week online which was pretty easy at Sonora lab.com. It would have been nice of Sonora Quest to notify customers who used the Sun City lab that that location was being closed. It would have saved me a lot of aggravation today.

Forced to walk in, I was then told the wait would be over two hours for a simple blood draw. When I tried to explain the situation to the woman at the reception desk, she seemed just as frustrated and overwhelmed as I was. It's clear this location is severely understaffed, and the staff they do have are bearing the brunt of patient frustration. Closing the Bell Road location has put an impossible strain on the remaining labs. This is a basic service required by many employers, and LabCorp seems completely unprepared to handle the volume. Save yourself time and look for alternatives--this was a complete waste of a morning.

Unfortunately, the label was not placed on the specimen in the appropriate way; it was loosely taped around it. I assume this was done so the label could be removed later, but my concern is that if multiple specimens are handled this way, it could potentially lead to mix-ups or errors. Typically, results are available within a few days. It has now been a week, and I still have zero results. My doctor's orders are also no longer showing as pending, so I'm unsure what happened or where things stand. I'm hoping this was simply a delay and that my results will be available soon.

A week later, I received a call from my pediatrician saying that the lab results were unsatisfactory because the blood sample wasn't collected properly. Now, I have to take my newborn in for another blood draw, which is frustrating and completely avoidable. This time, I'll be going to a different Sonoran Quest location, even if it's farther, to ensure we don't have the same experience. However if you have any kind of question you might as well forget about getting any help. The practitioner will not receive any messages via email or thru customer service no fault of theirs. they simply don't get any communication from customer service platform. You must book an appointment and pay fee for literally anything you need including a refill, insurance authorization or an error with bloodwork they wrote orders for. This is definitely a management/corporate issue that needs addressed.
