Decided to come here for breakfast finally and it didn't disappoint. The restaurant is small but feels very open due to the design. The service was excellent and very attentive. People here are very friendly and warm. The food was sooo good as well. I ordered the Chicharron Sandwich. So much flavor that I'm not sure I'd be able to order anything else! My love got the Steak and eggs dish. The dish was also delicious, only problem was she didn't get much steak. Please fix the portion size on this, it was maybe 4oz of steak at best. She also ordered the hot chocolate which came in a great little hand crafted mug. We will definitely be back for dinner sometime. The food quality alone is worth giving this place a try. read more

The food was excellently presented, we had no wait to eat on the weekend. The atmosphere is very relaxed and gives off mom & pop vibes. The octopus appetizer was cooked to a crispy consistency which was delicious and in a way I've never eaten before. I've only been here twice so far, but have tried their prime rib sandwich, shrimp tacos and vegetarian sandwich. The shrimp tacos were the best I've ever had and served unlike any place else. That thin, shaved tomato on top of the avocado was beautiful, and again the sauce put it this dish right over top. My prime rib sandwich was juicy and tender with a wonderful flavor. I love the fig and goat cheese toast as well as the prosciutto. The roast potatoes as a side are unforgettable!!! Every thing I've tried so far has been wonderful. Be sure to memorize their name because Azafran is a challenge to remember. It's a small restaurant at the corner of Ventura Blvd and Palm. My only complaint is that the acoustics are BAD, making conversation difficult. If decorative rugs were hung on the wall, it might soften the harsh sounds. Went here the other night. It was incredible! I started with the coconut lemonade. Amazing! We shared the chicharron bites. Again, amazing! I wondered why it took a while to come out. A disaster of a morning immediately saved by Old Town Camarillo and this charming spot. We ran into a flat tire problem on our way to Waypoint. America tire depot is down the road, so we stopped in here hoping it would relieve some of our frustration. I ordered the fig and goat cheese toast with a side of scrambled eggs and potatoes. Completely hit the spot. The eggs were delicious, well cooked. Potatoes were seasoned and heavenly with a little crunch. The toast was exactly what I wanted. When I tell you run do not walk, I mean run. I'm speechless, i'm blown away and i'm absolutely wowed. I was craving some steak tonight and I was not in the mood to drive far. I've seen Azafran on Yelp multiple times and i've been meaning to give it a try for a while. I'm so glad I did. I ordered the Sirloin, which they serve with mashed potatoes and mushrooms as well as the Chaufa vegetable fried rice with steak. I sent my bf to pick up the food and he stated the first impression he had was the walk to the restaurant. He was hit with the aroma of delicious food in the air. He stated the window was cracked just a bit and could see the chef preparing the Chaufa! The man who greeted him sounded like a man passionate about the food served to his customers. My bf stated that he had shown him each dish in the take out container to verify the order and make sure everything was up to par. The presentation of the sirloin was absolutely beautiful. :,) It had a nice crust on the outside, seasoned well and cooked just as I had requested. Delicious shrimp tacos - they had great flavor combinations, the sauce was the bomb. Modern and clean interior design. This is the 2nd time we've eaten here. The first time was for breakfast and the food was really good. I especially loved the individual French press coffee for $5. It had a great flavor. Today we went for lunch and the Shrimp tacos were perfectly cooked and came hot from the skillet. Everything tasted super fresh and flavorful. The Patatas bravas are really good but a little too rich for me. The potatos are always perfectly cooked and they came in a bowl with this spicy aioli or what I think is a mayonnaise based sauce. Really good but a little too heavy on the sauce for me. This didn't affect my rating because if you are a fan of the sauce then it would be great. The service is always good and the young woman who served us both times was very nice and helpful with recommendations and suggestions. My husband's burger was delicious and cooked to perfection. These folks most likely have some good things on the menu, but not what we ordered. A word to the wise: Don't order the paella or the fried rice. I saw some folks with a great big cast iron pan of paella on the table. It wasn't on the menu, and it turned out that they serve it two days a week. Our server had not mentioned it to me. So I ordered it. It was lousy. A huge pot of white rice with red sauce - enough rice for three people - with three shrimp, five or six mussels, and a bunch of squid. And oh, yeah... Since it hadn't been on the menu, I didn't know how much they charged for it, and when I got the bill, it was $55. Ridiculous. Fifty-five bucks for a pound of rice with a few pieces of seafood. My wife is vegetarian, so the only thing on the menu for her was the vegetable fried rice. Awful. A bunch of peas, some diced tomatoes, and some onion, also in a red sauce. Virtually no taste. Also had the ceviche as an appetizer, and didn't care for it. I almost always like ceviche, but didn't like this one. Maybe you will. Mostly big chunks of white fish with not much to go with it. Lots of peanuts in it. As I said, there were other interesting things on the menu. They might be good. Just avoid the things we had. read more
