Made a reservation and had the meat paella. OMG delicious! Had melted cheese appetizer before and the tres leches cake after. Even with sharing, we we beyond full. Loved every bite!

Pork belly bites

Ah jeez, this place is fantastic! From the hospitality and welcome, we felt like we were invited to lunch in a beautiful Colombian home. The chef is just killing it at this place! I wish we lived closer as I'd go every week. We enjoyed the coconut lemonade, pork belly bites and patatas bravas. I can't say which we loved more, and we're still talking about all three items. You can make a reservation for lunch or dinner. Visit Azafran and let them transport you to a culinary paradise.

Chaufa with pork belly

I ordered the chaufa with pork belly. It was really good. I've pork belly was flavorful. The rice also had tomato's and red onions. Overall delicious. Seating: plus size friendly. They have tables and comfortable chairs with no arms.

After picking a random spot, we were not disappointed! The staff is very friendly and seems to work well under the volume of customers. The restaurant was clean and well kept. The lamb was beautifully cooked, with bold flavors, delicious mushrooms and a mashed potato bowl so smooth. My only complaint would be the excessive amount of oil in the bottom of the plate. The steak & eggs were cooked perfectly to order, also with bold flavors. We will definitely be back! 4/5. Will return.

This place is a hidden GEM!! The food is so, so good and the service is impeccable. It's very clean inside and the vibe is so fun. Family friendly but also a great date night or girl dinner place too! We ordered- steak and eggs, a chicken sandwich, and the salmon toast. We also tried the white sangria and it was DELICIOUS! If you haven't tried this place, you're missing out. Love, love, love Azafran and we will be back for sure!!!

Had a wonderful lunch today at Azafran. Gabby was our amazing server assisted by Ellie another wonderful individual. The ambiance is chill and positive and the food delicious. We started with drinks and my wife had the Coconut Lemonade and I had the Herbal Tea. We asked Gabby questions about the menu as this was our first time here and we landed on the Sweet Potato soup. It was scrumptious. For our entrees we both had the Chaufa with chicken, another delicious choice. The food, service and ambiance was stellar. We did not have space for dessert but saw many pass by our table and the mango cheesecake looked out of this world. Great lil place. Highly recommended

Coffee presse with utensils

You know that happy feeling when leave a restaurant after a wonderful experience? Yes, I found that restaurant right here in Camarillo-- Azafran! Admittedly I was craving steak and eggs, and was curious to know what this Azafran restaurant was all about-- actually my visit was long overdue as I had targeted the restaurant for some weeks to visit -- I wasn't to be disappointed. The drive to the restaurant was easy and parking also, so it kind of sets you up for success when the traffic obstacles are minimized. Upon entering the restaurant you're greeted by a very pleasant floor arrangement with tables nicely spaced, and decorated with utensils, napkins and flowers! The hostess also offered a warm welcome and shared the menu-- even though I had decided probably an hour before what I craved. Even though I wasn't thinking about a pre-meal drink I was also surprised by the coffee offering which was served in a nice press., accompanied by cream and sugar-- enough for 4 servings. The chefs kitchen is close to the seating area although it's out of eye level you can still see them working together to make your food. As you can see from the pictures the steak and eggs are presented in a very clean and enticing manner-- honestly I literally devoured this offering-- who wouldn't! I probably could have consumed a second steak it was that good! One last note, which I found very satisfying and that is there's no rush with the bill here -- you just take your time and savor the moment of the fine food and might I add the equally competitive pricing! Perfect Sunday.

Steak and Eggs

I wasn't sure what to expect when I stopped in to try this place, but I'm glad I finally did. The flavors of the steak and eggs, along with the side sauces that have a slight spice, all had my taste buds celebrating. Even their fresh squeezed orange juice was a perfect pairing for the steak and eggs. My buddy said his ribeye sandwich was amazing too. The place was clean, ambiance was nice and service was friendly. I can't wait to come back and try more menu items. Update: the very next day I came back with the wife. The place was busy, there's only 1 server, but she did a great job in juggling all the tables. This time I true the ribeye sandwich which was another amazing dish. My early valentine date for the Chaufa with chicken which was a cross between a paella and chicken fried rice, also pretty good and a hefty portion. As an appetizer we had pork belly bites which ended up being my favorite. That's this critic's review, until next time, I'll be eating.

This restaurant is absolutely incredible. I cannot believe it has been open for two years and I live so close. I wish I had discovered it sooner because everything was amazing from start to finish. The dessert, the appetizers, the atmosphere, all of it was perfect. I had the paella and it was outstanding, full of flavor and beautifully prepared. We will definitely be coming back. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Do not miss this hidden gem.

Smoked salmon 5/5

Second time here and I'm in love! It's such a peaceful yet vibey space . Service is great and food is phenomenal. We ordered: Smoked salmon is a must have! 5/5 Neapolitan 5/5 I dream about this dish it's so good. Calentado 4/5 It was really good just not my fave next to the Neapolitan and salmon. It's light in flavor so I'd suggest have this first . French press Coffee was coffee but in a press! Herbal tea (in a press too) 5/5

Flavor has hit the streets of Old Town Camarillo. A family owned and operated Colombian and Peruvian fusion restaurant is bringing much needed flavor and tradition to downtown Camarillo. All of my friends have ranted and raved about this spot saying they are a must try! With almost a perfect 5 star rating on Yelp this spot has been on my "need to hurry here" list for a hot minute. Azafran has made a name for themselves and are definitely a favorite amongst locals. The menu is intriguing and there is a perfect mixture of classic breakfast dishes and more unique plates. Staff are friendly and welcoming, it's definitely a family friendly restaurant. Here's what we had: Chicharron Sandwich : This was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time! The Chicharrón - pork was extra crispy and flavorful. Perfectly done and I loved the fatty bits. The fresh and pickled veggies gave a lightness to this sandwich and the side spicy mayo aioli-oil drizzle was heavenly. Some papas on the side, this was a filling and delicious dish. I'll be coming back for this again and would HIGHLY recommend. Lox Toast: my friend had a generous portion of Lox Toast which she was super happy with. The portions are generous and the toast also comes with a side of their famous papas or fruit. If you are looking for a more classic breakfast dish here their toasts all sounded fabulous. To drink they have some unique creations. I opted for a Coconut Lemonade which was so refreshing and tasty. My friend had a gorgeous Colombian cold press coffee. We were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant and it definitely was a delicious meal. The food is a 10/10 and the interior is cozy and warm. The staff were very friendly and the pace is very casual and laid-back. This is the kind of place you go for a slow weekend meal with friends and good conversation. Can't wait to come back soon and please give this local small buisness a try.

Tres Leches Cake

Happened to be in Camarillo today. We decided to try Azafran. First time here. We walked into a very comfortable dining room. It wasn't terribly busy and we were seated immediately. We started with the shrimp taco appetizer. It was very flavorful and you could immediately tell that the shrimp was extremely fresh! I ordered the Pomodoro pasta with Mushroom and Shrimp. My wife asked for the Steak Chaufa. I received the Parpadelle with mushroom and shrimp in. Not exactly what I ordered, but I ate it and loved it. My wife's fried rice with steak was good too. We both could not finish our dishes. They were filling. The topper though was the Trees Leches cake (yes we saved a bit of room for desert). It was moist and had just a touch of sweetness. I prefer it this way, not too sweet. Overall, it was a great find. The server was very nice. The atmosphere was very comfortable. I bookmarked this for a future trip to Camarillo.

GETTING HERE:…read more Located in DTCam. on Ventura Blvd. between Carmen and Arneill. I think street parking would be your best bet, however, you can drive up the side street near the residential areas if needed. Look for the 999 Pizza place. REVIEW: First timer to the location in Cam! To know me is to know that I am obsessed with their brown butter toffee cookies. I have been known to clear out the inventory at the Ventura (mall) location, #sorrynotsorry. They are THAT good. Trust me. So, this order was to go, but the inside seemed airy and open, loved the open vibe. There's a good amount of outside seating too, so if that's your preference, I would choose that option. (It's better than sitting outside at the Ventura Mall location, IMO). The employees were basic, that's OK. I don't expect much in 2026. No pics as the cookies were packed away in my bag asap. But, I'll be back! It was a fine-enough visit. Thanks!

This is a noteworthy waffle spot!…read more Hubby and I came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We arrived shortly before they opened and waited in our car. This restaurant is located in the Conejo Gateway Plaza where there's a large parking lot in the center surrounded by businesses. We entered the eatery as they opened and was greeted and seated on the spot. When you enter, there are 2 chalkboards with art & information. Be aware that this place gets super busy as the morning goes on! It is a popular place for good reason! They offer Vegan & Gluten-free options here, if they are your preference. We shared a Guava Juice, The Mixed Berry Classic with Seasoned Potatoes, and added a side of the Blueberry Syrup. The entire meal was delicious! The fruit on top of the waffle were indeed so fresh and so sweet and complemented the waffle so well! The Blueberry Syrup we got was a great addition for the waffle but not necessary! Get their seasoned potatoes! They are tasty! We loved their thick cut bacon, too! We will definitely return if/when we come out this way again! If you are coming for breakfast, I would recommend coming first thing in the morning in order to avoid having a long wait!

We had an 11am reservation on Labor Day, and we arrived at 10:38am, hoping to get seated early. The…read morehostess informed my partner that there were 3 parties ahead of us with reservations so it would probably be about a 15-20 min wait. We figured that's perfect since it's our reservation time anyway. 11am rolls around and we still hadn't been called or got a text that our table was ready. My partner goes back in to see how much longer, and they weren't able to provide an estimated wait time, only confirmation that we were checked in. We were finally seated at 11:25am, with sincerest apologies for the wait and first round of drinks on the house, which was a really nice gesture. Our waiter, Oscar, greeted us and immediately said his boss told him free drinks on the house, and asked what we wanted. I can't tell you how much I really appreciated not only the gesture, but the message being passed down the chain of command. I don't know how many other restaurants I've been to, where we've been told something is on the house due to a mistake and then when we get the bill it isn't. The fact that they made double sure that it was clear we would be compensated a free round a drinks was very impressive to me. Great customer service, accountability and fantastic leadership. Oscar was a great server too. He told us to scan the QR code on the menu because it had picture options, and there were items there that weren't on the menu. After each person placed our order, he'd made comments such as "that's one of my favorites!" or "I really like that one!" which was a nice confirmation that he is knowledgeable on what we are ordering. At one point, he brought our waters and said that the bartenders were still making our drinks, but after he took our order he was going to help the bartender. Again, great customer service, work ethic, and team work. Now onto the food. In terms of drinks we ordered two watermelon lemonades, a cold brew and coffee. For food, we ordered The Gravy Train, Chicken and Waffles, You Had Me at Burger, Benny Met A Cali Girl, and Waffle Cute. I really enjoyed the food. Let me tell you, every single person at our table cleared their plate. Apparently, today our table was feeling very savory, but I would love to go back and try some of their sweeter options. My personal standout was the seasoned potatoes. I'm the type of gal who needs to try a bite of my everything my partner orders and when I took one bite, I somehow finished his entire side of seasoned potatoes. They were perfectly crunchy on the outside with a good amount of potato (not too much, not too little) on the inside. I loved them. Maybe this was just bad timing on our part because it was a holiday, and we came at lunch time, but I did notice it did take a long time to receive our food. We received our food at 12:07pm. I can't remember exactly what time we placed our food order, but if we were seated at 11:25am, 45 minutes seems like quite a wait to order and for the food to arrive. I imagine if the bartender was backed up, the kitchen was probably too. Overall, I think if you don't have any plans for the rest of the day, or if they're flexible, definitely give this place a try. When I think "brunch" this is the exact type of food I want in terms of quality and quantity. I also felt like the price was fairly priced for what we received. Parking is also plentiful and free. Lastly, I was very impressed with the customer service from both management and our waiter.
