I don't think I've ever really cared for Popsicles. Ice cream and frozen yogurt were definitely more my thing. Until I tried this place. First off, the man working there (owner maybe?) is so friendly. My husband and I had never been there so he explained the concept to us and we tried a bunch of flavors. Second, the flavors were incredible. Nothing like Popsicles you buy in the store. So fresh! We ended up buying a box of 10 and a dog pop which I loved that they had! The strawberry balsamic, cucumber mint, and chocolate cookies and cream were out of this world good. Can't wait to get through these and get our next 10. Amazing! I purchased the Lemon Mint, but was able to try a few other flavors as well. The Lemon Mint tastes like a perfectly mixed Mojito! I was on my way from New Mexico to California and had heard about AZ Pops from my best friend. I walked into AZ Pops and was greeted by Pam the owner with a warm and friendly smile. The ambiance in the store is colorful, fun, kid and dog friendly, and cool on a hot summer day. There is a quiet shady patio to sit on and chalk for the kids to have fun with. I tried several diverse flavors of popsicles that sent my tastebuds to pure happiness. I ended up taking a dozen different popsicles home to my family and friends who loved trying all of the exotic and fun flavors. My earliest memory of Phoenix is arriving by car on an August afternoon in 1985. I'd been warned about the heat, yet I really wasn't aware of what 110 degrees does to chrome windowsills on a vehicle without AC, crawling up the I-17. I learned. Neither was I prepared for the visual intensity of the harsh, unfiltered light from the menacing orb overhead; like flying at 39,000 feet. A better reminiscence is my first, of many, encounters with those of that remarkable army of "paleta men" who roamed the sizzling valley floor, from dawn to dusk, pushing their heavy, insulated carts farther than any of us would, selling frozen fruit bars and earning only pennies per sale. The gentle chiming of a small "carillon" of bells mounted across the cart's handlebar signaled their presence among us, and for the universally affordable price of 50 cents each, one could refresh a parched throat; and maybe, refresh your own soul, in the bargain. It was like that, for me. While being more than a generation removed, I identified with these men "of, primarily, a certain age," who would do whatever it took to get by. With their individual back-stories clearly etched across their time-worn and weather-baked faces, I never once judged their personal worth by their brutal, and menial, work. And I never spent less than a buck for that half-dollar treat. Not a big deal, at all, but have you done the same? Be honest, now. Fast (very fast) forward to 2015 and Az Pops, with their ethnically neutral name, for our times. They carry a dizzying array of delicious, natural, and inventive flavors, including free samples. Housed in a clean, efficient shop sporting a relatively cute and practical patio, they also display one of the pushcarts I mentioned (minus the bells) in front of the store. Priced at $3, inclusive, they offer free dry ice when you purchase a (discounted) 10 pack, or more. So, I LOVED my cucumber-watermelon bar. Less favorable, on another day, was the Chevre Black Cherry. Chalky and grainy, with a funky subtle flavor from the goat's milk, there was just five-eighths of an inch of black cherry at the bottom. THAT bit was intensely flavorful, almost like a dessert wine, but which might be overwhelming in an unmixed bar. With many, many more fabulous flavors to try, I'll mos' def' b returning. P.S. Creative, high quality, deliciously homemade ice pop treats. If it isn't too hot out, they have a patio you can enjoy your ice pop on. Their flavors range from traditional to quite unique.m- chocolate, cucumber lemonade, pina colada, etc. Reasonable prices. My 3 year old loves picking out his ice pop. Me and my sister stopped into AZ Pops after hearing about it at work. We came in on a VERY HOT Arizona afternoon looking for a refreshing treat.. And boy did we get just that. I knew going in that they have a wide range of very unique flavors and to my surprise there was MORE than just a wide range. I absolutely love the owner and how she took the time to converse with me and help me pick exactly what I wanted. I will definitely be back. AZ pops has a wide variety of Popsicles with unique flavors. I really liked the flavor of Basil Cantaloup. It surprised me! The texture of the Popsicle is just a Popsicle. I was hoping for a creamier texture, smoother with smaller ice crystals but it was exactly like a Popsicle you would buy from any grocer. That is my only disappointment. But the flavors are great, the people are inviting and the variety is wonderful. read more

So my boyfriend and I tried this place out yesterday. Omg! It is a little spot in a small plaza but should NOT BE IGNORED! They make gourmet Popsicles and sodas! They have such a unique variety and let you try them out (little samples, except for the soda). But flavors like Prickly Pear Lime, Grapefruit Mint, Grapefruit Rose, Hibiscus Ginger, Candied Ginger, Apple Cream, Sea Salt Chocolate, and Cardamon Chocolate plus a whole lot more I can't remember (but they were different) I tried the raspberry lemonade and also the summer berry mix and opted for that since it had the perfect amount of sweet and tart. My boyfriend ordered the passion fruit pineapple soda, BOTH WERE DELISH! They even cater to your furry friends and have gourmet pops for dogs! The price is a little high ($3 popsicle $4 for soda) but after tasting...well worth the $$. We will definitely be going back to try others. read more

My husband and I decided to have AZ pops for our dessert at our wedding. Aidan sold us on the idea at the Scottsdale Farmer's Market. Pam was super responsive throughout the planning process. And Butch was great as the caterer at the event. They brought the bicycle with parasol to our venue at the perfect time to provide dessert for our guests. We had Pam from AZ Pops make us some great pops for an additional treat at our wedding and could not be happier. The pops were the perfect size and are so flavorful. We had two flavors - Prickly Pear/Raspberry and Mexican Chocolate. Both were real hits with our guests. The Prickly Pear is refreshing and adorable looking. The Mexican Chocolate has a deep, complex flavor and reminds you of childhood and Fudgesicles. They have a seemingly endless repertoire of flavors. Free tastes at the store allows you to make an informed decision before selecting from the many mouthwatering combinations. My favorites include pineapple lychee, Mexican dark chocolate, and raspberry lemonade, but you'd be hard pressed to find something you didn't like among this array of yummy flavors. read more

I don't just give out 5 stars willy-nilly. This shop deserves it, from the high quality and creativeness of their product to their superb customer service. This is a family owned business and the children of the owner usually tend the front counter. The young man is always so inviting and knowledgeable. Very funny but he always keeps it professional, that young man is going places. Now regarding their pops; they are always experimenting with something new, whether it's an avocado and cream pop cycle or an imported specialty chocolate. Plus you can get them dipped in chocolate and or peanuts! If you are a chocolate lover you will be in heaven. They also have all fruit and even sugar free pop cycles. Try their caramel balsamic fig pop, it sounds weird but wow is it amazing! They also use locally found ingredients. This place never disappoints, the only down side would be sometimes they may not having the exact same pop cycles as the last time you were there, but it opens up the door to trying something new! read more

First off, I must warn you that if you come in here, do not expect to leave with just one popsicle! This place has literally the best popsicles I have ever tasted. The owners are extreamly nice people, and they will go out of their way to make sure your experance is a great one. The popsicles are all natural, so you know what your getting will be real and wont kill you in 20 years. I go in about once a week and love it every time. We have been to this location many times before and liked it so much that we have told all our friends, brought many new people here, and have been back many times since the first time. However, the last time we went we had such a bad experience that we will be taking our business elsewhere from now on! On the many other times we have frequented the store, we have been told they are dog friendly as they serve pup pops and have been encouraged to bring our dog inside and welcomed to sit in the store. This occasion started out no different and we were encouraged to sit inside. We even purchased a Popsicle for our dog! We have a very well behaved dog who sat right with us the whole time and never made a peep. Our one month old son, however, woke up from his nap and began crying. We took him out and calmed him down within minutes but an older lady had come up front by that point. She made the comment that our son was very loud and remained up front. We were a little put off by her comment but remained to finish our Popsicles. She then told us that she was going to have to kick us out of the store because of our dog. We had been told we could sit in the store by another employee but she continued to say that we would have to leave as their many other guests weren't comfortable. We were the only group in the store and only one other person had stopped in quick to grab a Popsicle and leave. After spending so much money at their store and bringing our out of town guests with us we were very upset that the experience was so bad. This place is definitely not family friendly or dog friendly! read more
