I would definitely recommend AZ heating to anyone in need of HVAC upgrades! My wife and I recently purchased a house which had a central air heating system powered by a brand new single speed 4-ton York furnace. The house did not have any AC. Upon further inspection the attic ductwork turned out to be antiquated (hard tin ducts that were too narrow in diameter with asbestos tape at every joint) and the insulation in the attic was almost non-existent, only 2-4 inches of loose -fill with most of it broken down into fiberglass dust. We endured a grueling hot summer where the 120 degree heat in the attic would continue to radiate through the ceiling and into our house well after the cool night time air had chilled our yard. Eventually winter finally arrived and we started to use the furnace almost every night. We were immediately disappointed with how noisy the system was in our bedroom as we tried to sleep. The unit only had one speed: full blast! And yet it took hours for it to warm the house. We knew we would eventually need to deal with these issues but hoped to delay them as long as possible. In the meantime we began talking to various HVAC and attic companies about our multi-faceted problem. One small company gave us a bid for replacement of ducts and insulation only but they didn't do furnaces. Another company recommended just replacing the furnace because it was "17 years old". Reporting the serial # to York revealed this to be false. We had a meeting with a Home Depot rep who seemed qualified to handle all of our needs but the price was astronomical and they had limited furnace options. Finally just before Christmas vacation during the coldest month of the year our furnace literally choked to death as it struggled to push hot air through the narrow ducts. I called around to a few companies and ended up meeting with a rep from AZ Heating named Ilan Bouzaglo. Having already heard different versions from four other companies we felt conversant enough to recognize that he was giving us straightforward honest advice. He was more knowledgable about thermodynamics and heating equipment than any of the previous reps and the furnaces and air conditioners AZ offers were all high-end units. He didn't push us towards anything, rather he educated us as to the pros and cons of each option. In the end we chose a top of the line variable speed Lennox furnace with a pure air filter option. AZ referred us to an abatement company to remove the asbestos coated ductwork and plenum. AZ techs removed all of the old insulation, I inspected the attic after that step and it was clean as a whistle. Then they installed the new furnace, all new R6 insulated Mylar ductwork, new registers, a Honeywell programmable smart thermostat with wifi (I can control and monitor it from my cell phone!) a radiant barrier to the attic ceiling to keep the attic temp down in the summer and finally new R-38 blown-in insulation. In just three days our house went from a fridge to an incubator! Wow what an immediate difference. From a cold start the system got our house to a very comfortable 72 degrees in about 30 minutes! It's super quiet and the best thing about it is that it's almost never on. Thanks to the new insulation the house now holds its heat for hours at a time without dropping a single degree. AZ turned out to be a fantastic one-stop shop for everything. They approached the work with various teams for each stage of the job. I think because they are a larger company they can staff specialists at all phases: ductwork, new drywall openings for registers, basic carpentry work in the heating closet, roof specialists for a new exhaust vent, even thermostat specialists familiar with the sophisticated software and tolerance levels of the systems self diagnostic sensors! Throughout the process I received several phone calls from AZ customer service reps and dispatchers confirming that the various technicians were performing the work to my satisfaction and that everything was proceeding smoothly. I found it reassuring to know that they were really following through on a personal level and standing behind their product. In the end AZ wasn't the cheapest nor were they the most expensive company we got bids from. They were somewhere in the middle but their products are top-notch and I can't imagine another company having the resources to coordinate so much work involving so many different disciplines in such a short amount of time. For TRULY honest service with absolute professionalism, reliability and the personal attention of the AZ !! Before I buy anything I do the research and read reviews. So when my HVAC died, I began the hunt hoping to find a trustworthy repair company in the area. After reading all the positive reviews (here), I called AZ. I couldn't have made a better choice! Since I called late afternoon for the initial appointment, I was immediately surprised to be offered an appointment as soon as the following morning. A Tech and an assistant showed up ON TIME! Based on my experience with other companies in the past, this was totally unexpected. They briefly questioned me regarding the symptoms and began troubleshooting. Within 30 minutes they had not only found the failure in my unit, but also what had caused the failure. The Tech took the time to explain to me (in laymen's terms) the function of the failed components. He then showed me how the prior system was improperly installed and explained how this caused the failure. He thoroughly described my options, from the repair of the existing unit to the various alternatives for replacement. While I was weighing cost vs. comfort, went the extra mile. He asked me questions concerning my lifestyle (as it pertained to HVAC such as; temperatures my wife and I prefer and at what times, humidity levels etc...) and the he made a recommendation based on our lifestyle, size/configuration of home. I consider myself a good judge of character, and easily found AZ to be genuine and trustworthy. The more I spoke with them, the greater respect I gained for AZs innate integrity, Their professionalism and the sincere concern for our comfort and honesty. When considering the recommendation and looking at pamphlets of options, I asked them about a more expensive unit. They responded that in my case, the more expensive unit would not provide me any additional benefit! There aren't enough businesses out there with that kind of genuine honesty! With the decision made, AZ was able to offer a $1000 instant rebate from Lennox and communicating directly with a lender he secured me 0% financing! We scheduled the installation, and they detailed what to expect. On day one of installation, AZ and their professional crew showed up (ON TIME) immediately set to work placing protective covering over my floors. Throughout the day, I had conversations with each person on the crew and found all of them to genuinely concerned with their personal quality of work and my satisfaction. (Additionally, I found them to be friendly, responsible people). The entire two-day installation went exactly as they described, with one pleasing exception. Installation was completed 6 hours ahead of schedule! AZ and the team are the epitome of Customer Service! In my 25 years of home ownership of 4 different homes, I have NEVER felt so comfortable with my decision of who to perform the work. Nor have I ever been so pleased with the whole experience and the final result. If AZ Air Conditioning does it, I will never allow anyone else in my home to do it. read more

I've been a satisfied customer of AZ Air Conditioning & Heating for over 10 years and was surprised to read some of these bad reviews, which was alerted to me by my friend, I had recommended to use AZ's service. I'm not one to use yelp a lot, but I do think It's about time I started to share my experiences with businesses I visit and use. From my experience with AZ, I can honestly say that they have a professional and knowledgeable team that stands behind their great service, that's why I was surprised by what I read. I had purchased my system from them about 10 years ago and during that time I have had problems, as anyone would. Yes, they did come late at times and yes, I did have recurring issues that took time to repair, but at the end of the day, they took responsibility and it was resolved. I'm still with the same system. The way I judge a company is not by the issues that arise, but how they handle it once it occurs. You're always going to have problems with any company you hire, especially if you've been with them many years. People complaining about their high prices, yes you're right - they're not cheap. But once you've been a customer for many years, and have witnessed their continued support, you'll understand why they're worth their rate. You do have companies that are cheaper, but I don't want to speculate on what they're cutting back on to be able to provide a cheaper service, or guess if they'll be around many years from now to maintain or warranty my system. With anything I purchase I gamble on durability of product, reliability of service and good customer service to justify the price I paid, and with AZ Air Conditioning & Heating, it has paid off. What I've noticed about all of these complaints, is that they are being acknowledged and they are trying to resolve them, That in itself, speaks volumes about the reputation of this company. So, I noticed water leaking from my pressure relief valve where the water main enters the house. I checked the pressure inside the house and it was at 140psi. Knowing that the Pressure Reducing Valve was bad, I called A Z Air Conditioning And Heating who was able to come out that same day. I was advised there was a "house call fee" of $75 which would not be applied to any work completed. After getting a manager to agree to apply the service charge fee to the work (like any other business would do) I explained the exact problem, down to which part was bad (3/4" PRV dual Union).. available at Home Depot for $104. I asked what they charge per hour and was explained that they charge "by the job", not by the hour. So I asked how much this job would be (after explaining every detail of what was needed). They said they would need to see it first. Well the guy showed up and confirm the PRV was bad based on the water flow from he relief valve. He then walked me over to his truck where he took out a book and opened up the PRV replacement page. He pointed to the size valve on the page and the price next to it was $675!!!!! Holy crap. I told him he was insane. It would take about 20 mins to replace, so his labor rate is actually higher than hiring Johnny Cochran as a defense atty in a celebrity murder trial. I told him to "f-off and leave" but he said I had to pay him the $75 service fee. I again told him to "f-off" and advised that I asked how much it would be before he even came out, and they were not able to tell me, but he actually had a printed page from the company stating the price. After he called the manager he came back to me and said I still had to pay the $75. I told him again to "f-off" and he left. I later got a call from the manager stating they would not be charging me for the fee after-all. I then went to Home Depot, bought the part and it took exactly 12 minutes for me to install, adjust, and confirm the house water pressure was back to a safe 65psi. read more

In the world we live in right now, you can never be too cautious with protecting you and your love ones, that is why you can count on AZ air. I needed maintenance on my HVAC unit since we are staying home now and needed to make sure we changed our filter. After speaking to my husband he was unsure of having someone in our home during the outbreak of COVID-19, so I called to cancel the appointment. I spoke to Monique she explained the precautionary steps they take to protect themselves and their customers while on the job. I kept my appointment. Felipe called me 30 minutes prior to arriving to let me know he was on his way (NO COMPANY DOES THIS). As he arrived I was outside watering my grass and I couldn't believe what I was watching. Just as explained by their office Felipe immediately started to unpackage all his Personal Protective Equipment. He put on an overall body suit cover, fresh N95 mask, new gloves and waited at my door with shoe booties in his hands from walking to my house from his van. He placed his shoe booties on before stepping into the home and went directly to work. During this visit he performed what they call an electronic Indoor Air Quality test. Once the test was completed I was emailed the results in which Felipe went through each category in depth and educated me on these findings. He made recommendations in his professional opinion in which I went with. I am truly amazed at how this company operates. They are NOT your typical contractor. I greatly appreciate the time and effort they put into keeping their customers safe especially a nervous Nancy like myself with 3 kids in the home. Felipe was phenomenal and I couldn't thank him enough for improving the air quality in my home and making me feel more at ease. Overall, very unprofessional. They charge $85 for an estimate, which is fine. After the estimate, they said not to worry about the $85 but to let them know if I wanted to have the work done. I thought that was generous and continued to consider them for the work. They even charge me for a thermostat that works, they charge me for a false repair. The following week Kirk called me twice to see when I wanted to get started on the work that was estimated on. I told him that maybe I would be interested in two weeks as I still needed to get other estimates for a job that was in the $2000 range. Kirk called me back promptly to inform that if I was going to wait two weeks, then they would have to collect the $85 for the estimate. This message was left on my voice mail. Like everyone, I am extremely busy, and certainly don't need businesses calling me and telling me I owe them money, especially when I was told differently right after the estimate was completed. I then left a message after hours letting them know of our original agreement. 7:30 the next morning, Kirk calls me and leaves a message that they would need the $85 and I must have misunderstood the original understanding. I called him back 2 hours later to promptly give him my credit card info to pay the $85 for the estimate and asked them never to call me ever again. Even after I explained about what the technician said about the $85, Kirk still wanted to argue about it. Paying the $85 alone was worth never hearing from AZ Heating and Air Conditioning ever again. For what its worth, the technician that visited my home seemed knowledgeable and appeared to have the customer's best interest in mind. Too bad the manager didn't. I will be hiring a different company for a fairly sizable job. read more

PLEASE READ ALL THE REVIEWS BEFORE HIRING THIS COMPANY! My husband and I just renovated our house. We were referred to this company by Home Depot as they were one of the vendors selling their services in the store. The technician Jack came out and gave us quotes of everything that needed to be done. It was quite expensive. We did pay them $79 for what I guess we will never know. We almost pulled the trigger until we noticed on our camera that the technician totally broke our door leading from the garage to our house. Completely knocked out our alarms system. I tried multiple times to get someone on the phone and of course the managers were always busy. We finally got a text saying a manager would be out to see the damage on Christmas Eve day. Of course no one called or showed up. we still needed the work done so I called 3 different HVAC companies to come out and give us quotes. Every single one of them had almost the same scope of work that needed to be done. When I say almost half the amount of work that AZ claimed we needed. AZ claimed we needed brand new coils in the garage and outside. All 3 other companies said the coils were in great shape and very clean. I will be going into Home Depot on Monday to share my experience and show them all the quotes from the other 3 very reputable companies and then show them the quotes from AZ. They need to know the type of company they are allowing to scam their customers. Please BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND DO YOUR RESEARCH! I had a dreadful experience with AZ Air. I waited the scheduled 4 hour time period and they never showed, or called, or answered my calls to them (no recording either). I didn't know if they went out of business and I lost my a/c! A few days later I reached the secretary, and she had no explanation other than "he was late" and "I was busy with other lines." (??) She rescheduled me for the following week, and when that day came I called, and she told me that I was scheduled for the next day! (There is no way this mistake was mine.) I told her never mind, and that I just wanted to be reimbursed for my a/c. The next day they delivered it when I just happened to be home. I paid for it, since it was there and I'd otherwise have to buy a new one anyway. It was dirty on the outside. The metal grate in back was bashed in. Parts were missing, other parts were broken. The installer had to do some savvy workmanship to make it still work. I went to AZ Air even though they were just as expensive as buying a new a/c because I wanted to be environmentally responsible. But the man I hired to re-install it told me I could have just called waste management to get it, because they recycle it. Or maybe someone would have taken it if I left it on the sidewalk with a sign that said "works fine, just needs a cleaning". That would have cost the same amount of money, I would have had a brand new a/c, without the grief and disrespect. It would also have taken less time to go to the store and buy a new one. read more

My wife and I met with an Az Air Representative Rey Gutierrez who was very a professional, no pressure salesman and thorough with his explanation of Az Air options and costs for modifying our 1300 square foot condo in Simi Valley that we purchased new in 2001. Costco was instrumental with us contracting with Az Air in that they stand behind the products inside their warehouse and we ended up purchasing services for a complete HVAC system that included a Lennox 2-stage compressor, a Lennox 2-stage furnace with a UV Light and our entire ducting network. We were concerned about doing this work in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic that would result in 5 workers going in and out of of home but Az Air advised us that their personnel and material are safe so we hesitantly went forward. Rey brought in a 5-man crew that was very thoughtful with face masks and booties. The Foreman of this crew was available for any questions we had (and we had a lot) and he was very professional. They came in around 8:00 AM and were totally complete with this major effort before 5:00 PM same day and they hauled off all replaced material. Az Air came back the next day and sanitized everything they touched as well as injecting a disinfectant inside the new system and ducting. This system is GREAT and we are appreciating it every day. The only improvement we could recommend is that Az Air should do the disinfecting process the same day and, in light of this pandemic, not delay to a 2nd day. read more

We installed a heat pump/AC unit 3 years ago, referred through Costco. Buying through Costco during a promotion had great benefits. Install was easy for us the customer, professional technicians did the install without any hitches. We have had our unit maintenances every 6 months to keep up our warranty. Scheduling is usually easy though service appts are usually weeks out. All our technicians have been respectful, thoughtful, and honest, make me feel like they're looking out for the customer & not just company bottom line. I wish I remembered everyone that has been here to service our unit but our last tech in October was Luis & gave us some helpful tips in addition to maintenance job. Today our technician was Frank & he fixed our thermostat that wasn't connecting to our WiFi & ceased being accessible from our phones.. how spoiled we had become to be able to control the thermostat from away from the house or from the comfort of my bed. I appreciate your work and attitude, gentlemen. Hope AZ treats their employees well and keeps hiring good guys like the ones we've had the pleasure to work with. Edit in April 2025: today Mike came for our routine service. He was on time, offered to wear shoe coverings, and completed his maintenance without any issues. I didn't feel he tried to sell me unnecessary products or repairs. Would be happy to have him service my system again. read more

After receiving several bids from different companies, we purchased our replacement Lennox system a couple of years ago through Costco. AZ Air did the installation, 2 zones in a two story house. They replaced the old duct-work (which was being held together with duct tape in some areas) and also added insulation to our attic. They were polite, clean and efficient and we were more than satisfied with their work. So much so that we recommended them to many friends and local businesses. We strongly believe in regular maintenance and had it with the prior system through a different company. Since AZ installed this system we signed for the annual maintenance with them and have been very happy with their service. Just a few days ago we had Jesse and Billy on a between maintenance call because we felt our bedroom in the West end of the upstairs wasn't getting as cool as the East end rooms. Also I felt I was hearing more noise in my office which sits directly below the unit on the roof. It was a super hot day in the Valley but Jesse went up into the attic and adjusted the dampers to increase the flow into our bedroom and it's now working quite well. Thank you, thank you!! Billy went up on the roof and installed something they called vibration dampener pads and now, unless I know the unit is running, I can't hear it. Thank you Jesse and Billy and AZ! On March 29, 2016 I had a new heating and air conditioning system put in. The work included removal of asbestos, all new vents, installation for my attic (which was not in the house when I bought it), new duct work, new electric panel (the original one was way to inefficient), fancy new digital thermostat that allows me to control the system from my phone and of course a new heater/air conditioning unit. I was very pleased with the system and everyone associated with getting everything installed. Ericka, Client Care Manager in the office was wonderful. My salesperson, Ivan, Project Consultant was amazing. He was honest and forth right. Everything he said was going to occur did and on time. There were about five to seven workers busy working on each important aspect of the installation. The system was installed in one day. I pointed out to Ivan a few minor things that I did not like (cosmetic issues after the work was done) but nothing major. I did read some of the negative Yelp reviews. However, Costco/AZ seems to have listened and is working hard to make sure new customers don't have those same negative experiences. If you are looking for a new system, I strongly recommend going thru Costco and ask for Ivan . . . he is an honest Project Consultant and will work with you to get the right system into your home. read more

My Landlord sent this company to look at my AC unit today. The techs arrived suggested that changing the air filter may help as they began to do further checks on the unit... they turned on the AC unit and then went outside on the roof to do more inspection of the AC unit. At some point after looking at the unit on the roof they just left without telling me. I assume they left after telling my landlord they needed to replace the entire unit for $16K to which she said no thank you. All the while the unit is still blowing warm air in my house with the windows wide open, and the air filter they brought in wasn't replaced its just leaning against the wall where they left it. Now thinking l was calling the tech who came to my house, l've reached the main office, l spoke to an unknown person about how the techs left with informing me, didnt replace the filter etc... He tries to mechanic-splain that changing a filter was a courtesy and how l should now be talking to the landlord not him... I explained your techs and not my landlord left unfinished work in my house... then like a spoiled angry teenager, this grown ass man hung up in my face and then places my number on some type company phone # block. I was told they'd be here between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. to install a heating and A/C unit and they were here at 8:00 a.m. sharp! My family and I want to personally thank Byron, Angel, Herbert, Danny, and Eduardo Sanchez! We were very impressed with their professionalism, time management, friendliness, and cleanliness. They are honest, HARD WORKERS, respectful and humble people. In spite of all the sweating due to the heat, they kept such upbeat attitude! We purchased our AZ air conditioning through Costco. If great customer service, professionalism, and having a quality efficient system is important to you then look no further. Ashton and Mario were very informative about their products and took their time to answer all of our questions and acknowledged our concerns. They also helped us save a lot of money by setting us up under a CA energy saver program. What's great is they provided us with a set price to the dollar, which means we would not pay for any surprises that they find during the installation process. We scheduled an installation date for the following week. Byron and his team arrived to our home on time at 8a.m. sharp to start the installation process. The team were very polite and set up plastic tarps to keep the house clean. Ashton even came by to check on the process and make sure everything was going smoothly. The area where the system was being installed needed some upgrades and they did it at no additional costs. We got a new platform and new insulation was installed. All the piping and vents were replaced. They were done by 5p.m. the same day just in time to beat the expected high temperatures for the week. This was the rare time we jumped into something without researching the heck out of it. Why? It began with Costco. They always score a home run with me. We set up an evaluation and a year or so ago we were told we needed everything new including A/C and heating and of course ducts and insulation. That was not good news. Ashton came out and while it was a by the book pitch with flip charts and stuff what sold us was a few things. 1) He used to be an installer with them and he'd been with them for 4 years. 2) He looked at our not quite 10 year old A/C and said it was fine--which it is. We had original 1960's ducts without insulation and no amount of attic fans would help when you live in the hottest part of the valley with south west exposure. From the time we signed we were given a time line of what would happen. We had thorough follow up with Maritza and the house was kept very clean. They were mindful of our cat not slipping out and all texts were responded to quickly. They aren't the cheapest or the most expensive--we were told. There was no upsetting-- they stuck to their word and we have been able to experience heat and cold since the weather has been wonky the last few days. This old house feels better already. read more
