Be careful dealing with this company. On November 20, 2025, I responded to their $59.99 Facebook advertisement for an air-conditioning system check. A technician came, charged the fee, and left. After that visit, my AC system started having electrical problems. When I contacted the company, they first told me I would have to pay again if I wanted them to come back and check it. After I posted a negative review on Facebook, someone from the company called me and asked me to remove the review and promised they would take care of the issue. Today I waited about four hours for their technician to arrive. When he finally came, he called his manager and then told me they would not fix anything and that I needed to talk to the manager again. They left without doing anything. My AC problem is still not resolved. I'm sharing my experience so others can be careful before using this company. read more

Avoid Kahn and Carrier. Buy Trane. Leak at Evap Coil, house smells of R410 refridgerant chemicals every time you switch on the AC. AND the start up time of the Carrier Infinity AC takes 5 minutes which is way longer than the old system it replaced. A waste of $15-20K spent. What they don't tell you is that while yes, the leak at the coil is under the coil manufacturers warranty, the labor to replace it is still well into the thousands!! This premature failure was due to them ordering and installing the wrong model evap coil to begin with. After install, they had to replace a valve on it so my heat pump would work. Their removing of the valve from the coil damaged the coil lines. read more

I finally got a call from their manager (the prior rep on the phone refused to transfer me to a supervisor). The manager George took care of it, and finally I got the AC repaired. I've used Kahn Air Conditioning for the last 20 years and generally never had an issue. They were always slightly more expensive than the competition, but did a quality job. I'm pretty sure the owner sold somewhere around two years ago because that's when I noticed the operations changed significantly. I put a one star review about a year ago due to a really terrible experience I had but ultimately over a period of time they made it right and I removed the one star review. Kahn came out two weeks ago to check out our units and told us everything needed to be replaced and gave us a quote of $65,000 to replace everything. No I don't live in a commercial warehouse and Kahn had actually been doing all the maintenance so there should definitely not be a surprise like this. I called to follow up a week later and asked for a detailed copy of that estimate and never got anything but here's the best part., my wife noticed in her closet next to the attic entry where the guys were one of the guys broke the top of her closet and left without saying a word. Accidents happen and if they would've told me, it's honestly not a big deal, but the fact that these guys broke something and then left without saying anything really gets under my skin. read more

We have also maintained service plans for both homes because we trusted this company and valued the relationship. Unfortunately, this most recent experience has completely changed that. We hired Kahn to complete a whole-house duct replacement for our two-story home, and the job was left incomplete. The crew left, our credit card was charged, and when we went to use our downstairs heater, it didn't work. When Kahn returned to diagnose the issue, we were told the job had only been half completed. Since then, communication has been extremely poor. The supervisor assigned to our job has repeatedly dropped the ball, shown no urgency, and has been unapologetic about the situation. We no longer wish to deal with him. We have called the office multiple times and have specifically requested to speak with someone in upper management, yet no one has followed up. After years of loyalty and significant investment in this company, we are shocked by the lack of accountability and professionalism. I just moved into my new home and my ancient HVAC system broke down within a week. I read good things about Kahn AC and called them for service, a technician named Conrad arrived the next day and quickly diagnosed the issue as an overheating fan motor. Due to the age of the system, he recommended replacing the it, I agreed and already had planned on installing a new system. What an excellent technician with many years of experience. Conrad's supervisor Henry was able to schedule a new system installation within a few days. The installation team of Johan, Marlon and Frank arrived on time and worked extremely hard to install the system in two days. They did an excellent job, they were very skilled, courteous and did a very neat installation. What a relief when we got AC again. Kahn attempted a rip off so obvious and brazen that I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. They came for our routine maintenance and claimed there was a hairline crack in the heat exchanger. They said our system looked 15 years old. In fact, it is 5 years old. The heat exchanger is under warranty. We called the company who installed everything. They came and said there is absolutely nothing wrong with the heat exchanger. Shocking because Kahn wrote all about this supposed crack in their report. The Kahn tech who came even told us things were so bad that she might have to "condemn" the unit. It is really terrible what criminals these folks are, trying to scare us into buying a part unnecessarily. Super hope this company goes out of business. It made me reflect on my other work done with them. They sold us an air scrubber. Necessary??? Not sure. Installer company says not really. I can't remember how my interaction with them started. I think they sold us a maintenance plan and then started selling us "fixes" for various issues nearly every visit. I've just fired them and started service with our installers. Life's hard enough as a middle class person without repair companies literally trying to rob you. The name Kahn should be spelled Con. That's what these guys are. They are con artists taking advantage of people with fake repair recommendations. All the positive reviews are most likely not to be trusted, because after every visit, Kahn begs for reviews. They know this game. Do not hire them. Edit: Kahn has contacted me several times to discuss this review but offered no evidence that there was a cracked heat exchanger or explanation of their report. Their calls mention "context" they want to explain. What could that context possibly be? The context is that their business model is predatory and they operated within that context--to try to take our cash. They seem to monitor their reviews and they know their reputation here is important for business. So maybe they want me to remove this review. Sorry, but once someone tries to rob my family, I'm not gonna talk to them anymore. Why talk after that when they cannot be trusted? I've worked with this company multiple times, and each experience has revealed more incompetence and dishonesty. A few years ago, they installed new AC units on rental properties for us at an outrageous price. One of the units had recurring issues for two winters in a row, requiring multiple service calls until someone finally diagnosed the problem - an installation mistake on their part. Most recently, our own AC was blowing hot air, so I called them again. They told me the compressor was out and couldn't be replaced due to the unit's age. They also said both fuses were blown and insisted the entire unit, including the furnace, needed to be replaced. I asked them to at least try restarting it. They returned and said now the motor was burnt out, which made no sense as it had just been running (albeit blowing hot air). Thankfully, I got a second opinion. The new technician had it working in under 30 minutes. The problem? The fuses were the wrong wattage (ironically installed by Kahn Air the year before during a service call), and the motor was simply unplugged. Once plugged in, it ran perfectly. Whether this was gross negligence or a deliberate attempt to upsell, it's unacceptable and fraudulent. Do not call them. read more

They had to redesign ductwork to fit in a very tight space, but large enough to provide adequate airflow. They also needed to add a second return. Kevin worked with us to keep the cost down. I had an older Carrier Infinity system on its last legs. Kahn had been servicing it for the last two years, and this time the tech showed me how and why the system was failing. Sales guy came over and did the sales guy thing, and I agreed to pay a hefty price for a new version of the same high-end system. [Now, I have to interrupt myself here -- I didn't really consider any other options besides a new Carrier Infinity system. And I added a gimmicky $2k add-on (by my choice -- the salesman didn't push it). So I knew going into this that I wasn't asking for a single-stage lower-end system, rather I wanted to replace it with a new version of the same high-end system, primarily for its effectiveness, efficiency and silence.] Should I have gotten more quotes? Probably. But I liked the tech, and I liked the sales guy, and I the last time I called a different Carrier-authorized HVAC company to bid a new system, they didn't give me the time of day. Also, I work, so I don't have time to schedule other companies to come out. Kahn has always been able to come out quickly when I've called, and so I decided they earned my business. *Here's what I liked about Kahn's install:* 1. They were able to get all the parts needed, including the new R454b refrigerant without delay. I understand the refrigerant is rationed in some places. 2. I was particular about when I wanted to schedule the install for two reasons -- A) I needed it to be a day that wasn't too hot, knowing I'd be without A/C and B) I didn't want the techs working in my attic on a hot day, it gets dangerously hot up there, and I knew it would make the work go slower. The salesman wasn't sure he could get me my first choice of date, so we set up for my 2nd choice. The install scheduler called me the day after I accepted the quote and was able to give me my first choice date. 3. I was quoted a day to a day and a half for the install. When it became apparent that it wasn't going to be up and running at the end of day one, one of the installers drove from my house to Kahn's HQ to pick up a portable A/C unit and bring it to me. (They recently moved from near my house, to the other side of the Valley.) He did this in rush-hour, at the end of a long work day. Major points for this. 4. Halfway through Day 2, the installers were having an issue getting the system set up, so they had the General Manager come out to my house to help figure it out. The GM was super nice, and walked me through how the fancy new thermostat works and gave me his email address for any questions, concerns, etc. He worked with me directly, replied very quickly to my emails and set up the warranties for me. This was probably the most impressive aspect of the whole experience. His phone kept ringing while we were talking, and he silenced it each time without even checking it, showing me I had his full attention. That is amazing customer service. 5. I had asked the salesman and the installers to make an unrelated, minor repair that was outside my own ability to fix. They did it without even adding on an additional cost. I know this because the installers didn't have it on the work order. 6. The installers worked really hard. They didn't slack, they explained to me what they were doing, and they worked really hard to make sure this expensive system was working as designed. They were terrific. 7. The first tech that came to diagnose the failing system gave me his personal cell number (not the work cell, I had that one already) in case I had any issues after the install. 8. The salesman didn't try to upsell me anything that I didn't want or need or ask for. I asked for an upgrade voluntarily, but no one was pushy, at any point. *Here's what I didn't like about the install:* 1. While the GM replied to my emails very quickly, I would have liked for the salesman, who got me to agree to the quote, to call me after a week to gauge my satisfaction. That would have been nice. I never heard from him. 2. The condenser arrived damaged. Apparently they couldn't get me a new one that day, so I eventually agreed to let them replace the damaged part and continue the install. I suspect they couldn't replace it because they were unwilling to source it from a different supply house, but I have no evidence about that. I took three weeks to contemplate my satisfaction with the purchase before writing this review. All things considered, I do feel like it was a very good experience with Kahn and I don't regret my decision to go with them. I feel confident that they'll stand by their work. read more

We recently replaced our gas furnace and air conditioning system with a heat pump system. We chose Kahn Air Conditioning to install the new system because of our sixteen-year relationship with it. Kahn installed and serviced the prior system throughout that time period. We remained loyal to Kahn because of its reliable service and its highly competent and professional technicians. Prior to our decision to install the heat pump, we twice consulted with Henry, a Kahn Air field supervisor. There was no hard sell. Henry advised us of various options and answered our many questions. Once we committed to go with a heat pump system, Henry remained available to answer our questions throughout the installation process and a couple post installation service visits to fine tune the system. It was a pleasure to have someone who always answered our many questions quickly and professionally. We were also pleased and impressed with the installation team of Johan, Enrique, and AJ. Installation of the heat pump system is highly complex. This team was always on time, polite, and meticulous in completing the installation.
