I like these guys! They were recommended by a friend and so I started seeing them. They have been courteous and always nice, especially considering our awkward circumstances with ex spouses and us. My eye exam is performed and the Dr's are very knowledgable. They inform me of my dry eye and the effect with contacts. They treat customers respectfully and allow customers to take their time. I never feel rushed selecting glasses and they are patient with my kids as well. My most recent episode has been with contacts. I have never worn contacts before but feel the need to wear them at work since I know I won't wear glasses. They are patient with my contact exam and patiently wait for me to remove and insert my new contacts 3 times. They gave me several different colored contacts to try out as well. I like their thoroughness with explaining the pricing and my payments as well. These guys are awesome! I would recommend these guys to anyone needing optometric needs. read more

I switched to Axis Eye last year after being dissatisfied with my optometry office of twenty years. Parking is easy as they're located in an large Raley's shopping center. Appointments are easily made over the phone. Text reminders are available if you choose to opt in. I find them helpful. They contact you via text when your glasses are ready as well. Dr. Shah is second to none. He's engaging, friendly, helpful, intelligent, and thoughtful. I pay less here than my old office for an better quality exam. If you hate getting your eyes dilated as much as I do, I highly suggest their other option. While it does come at a small cost, it's worth it in many ways. For one you don't have to deal with your eyes being dilated. Secondly, it allows them to keep better track of your eye health. The office is clean and well organized. The staff are friendly and helpful. I didn't feel rushed at all when I was looking for new glasses. I'm a little picky and they were patient with me. They're the perfect example of an business that doesn't take their customers for granted and treat people the way they'd like to be treated. Good customer service, quite a few employees working and available to assist patients and customers, great selection of eyewear, and the waiting area and exam rooms were super clean. I feel my exam was thorough and equitable to that I'd experienced at my past doctor's office prior to my move to Elk Grove. I felt the pricing was high even with insurance and that there was some push to sell me other services or products. Even with insurance I spent quite a bit of money for my co payments for services and eyewear. I will continue to use this facility for my eye care needs. I was made aware of other services provided including LASIK surgery. I will revisit the possibility of surgery and obtain information on my next exam visit. read more

Due to Covid, I am not able to see my regular optometrist this year. I did a quick search and this place was one of the nearest location to me and the reviews are decent. Here is my review: Dr Shah will not shut up and he will cut you off when you are speaking. I am not a 5 year old, but Dr Shah speak to me as if I am a gradeschooler. He keep calling me "bud" and I feel his tone is really condescending. After the eye exam, he and his staff tried to add a bunch of stuff to my glasses that I didn't want. So be careful and make sure they explain to you each line items. Even after carefully going over each line items, the cost is still almost $500. The front of house staff are also rude and not the friendliest bunch. Avoid this place if possible. Call your insurance and get recommendations. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Shah for a few years now and he just gets better and better as time goes on! You can tell he's passionate about what he does, and he really cares about his patients! He's very thorough and he makes sure you don't have any questions before leaving the office! I also like that he remembers the things I've told him in previous appointments . It tells me that he truly listens and cares. In regards to frame selection ... they have many fashionable name brand frames! Julie was so good at helping me pick out glasses that I sat and debated between 3 pair for about 20 minutes! This has never happened to me before! The doctor was empathetic with my concerns and current financial situation and after different tests assured me everything was okay. Quite possibly the best eye exam Ive ever had. Doc was patient, funny, did a very thorough exam. Fully explained WHY i was experiencing the changes to my vision and why those changes were leading to migraines. Some eye glass places push you to get super expensive frames... i did not feel that pressure here and they went out of their way to ensure id have my glasses before i move out of state. Front end staff were just as friendly and patient. My only regret is not connecting with them sooner. Honestly cant say enough about their level of care and professionalism. Well done! read more

Had to call to ask for an eye exam price and the person on the phone sounded so annoyed and agitated. . Needless to say I got off the phone, they charge $125, Walmart charges $79 and Target seems to have the best deal at $70. I'm gonna avoid this place altogether now. . yikes. read more

My daughter visited Axis Eye for contact lenses. She has been wearing glasses for some years and desired to go with something a little closer to the eyeball. :) Axis Eye Optometric Group did a wonderful job with her exam, fitting, and instructions once she received the contacts. They were always an easy phone call away for questions and when one of her lenses tore, they quickly replaced them. The prices are reasonable so much so that we decided to avoid the big discount web sites for a more personal touch. When I came here before I thought the receptionists were nice. However, I did think there was a lack of professionalism from the eye doctor at that time. I was really shocked that this place has tons of 5 stars. When I walked in the eye dr used profanity while talking to a friend/patient? I have never experienced that before with any other dr. It seems like he went over the top with jokes and didn't seem sincere. I like people with a sense of humor but once again just didn't seem genuine. Also, he seemed to have a know it all attitude and I felt he didn't listen much to what I had to say. I guess to each their own. Good luck.. maybe you will have a better experience. read more

Dr. Shah is exceptional! During the exam, they explained every facet of the procedure. Since I am curious, I asked so many questions regarding the imaging of my eye (they have a machine that takes a picture of the back of your eye! How cool!!!). I was so fascinated that so much could be told by just one image. For every question I asked there was a patient response. I left feeling so knowledgeable and heard. Many times when going to the doctors they simply brush you off trying to get to the next person. Dr. Shah really wants to treat the individual and they are so good about making connections. When I moved here I was looking for a local place to get glasses, found this place. The front reception people are so rude and the blonde lady who helped me pick out my glasses was rushing me and was also really rude. The doctor was fine I guess but he just wouldn't stop talking and telling me his life story and asking me personal questions, I'm here for glasses, not therapy. And the frames where fine but the lenses themselves where terrible I don't know what they did but after 6 months they ended up more scratched than some glasses I had as a kid. I got $60 glasses online from Zennioptical and they lasted longer than the $200 ones I got here. My moms prescription was way off and gave her migraines. Just not worth it tbh. read more
