I got to see how my team works together and our strengths. This was my first team building events with these coworkers and we did amazing together. I have seen it all when it comes to escape rooms. Teams collapse and teams flourish. We were the latter! Story: 4/5: While the story and clues were interesting, I would have preferred the actual story within each clues to be a little more concise. Moderator: 4/5: When it comes to escape rooms the moderator heavily impacts the experience and/or success. Our moderator did a great job explaining the rules and providing hints. However, the reason why he gets 4/5 vs 5/5 is that 5/5 moderators have a bit more theatrics which makes the experience even greater. Overall, he did a solid job. Room design: 3.5/5: the room theme, decor, and construction was well thought out but the execution needs improvement. Upon entering room I was able to identify certain clues because certain things stood out. I have been in rooms that are so well constructed the only way you can find a clue is if you spend time carefully searching. Puzzles: 4.5/5: some places only have one style of solving puzzles. I like a escape the room where you get to solve a variety of puzzles using different modes of thinking (teamwork, problem solving, searching/spacial awareness, etc). This allows each individual to potentially shine and makes it more of a collaborative experience vs one all-star. This place had a mix! I'm not really into golf, but my partner is, so when I first heard about a golf simulator where you hit balls into a giant screen, I didn't expect much. But I was totally surprised! The space is modern and tech-forward, with everything digitally set up. There's no receptionist, but the troubleshooting is quick if you need help. When you book a session, you get a code for entry. As soon as you walk in, it has a trendy, chill vibe. There's a lobby area with chairs, drinks for purchase (sodas/sports drinks), and a TV to pass the time. The venue has four bays (three open and one private), each with a small bar table and stools for seating. There's also a bathroom towards the back labeled the 19th hole. They provide free sets of clubs to use (for all skill levels, both men and women), though most people bring their own. Setting up on the computer is easy, and the technology behind the simulators is seriously impressive, with motion-sensing lidar cameras that track your shots pretty accurately. You get your own player profile, and you can set the skill level-- beginner for me! Each bay also has a TV, so you can play music or watch something while you play. Even though I didn't end up playing all 18 holes, there wasn't a moment where I wasn't entertained - I'd say great if you want to get your partner into your hobby, ha. There's different tiered memberships that you can join and we also saw that there was a league, which I thought was a pretty cool concept. I packed one veggie and one slime and crackers party tray along with a couple bags of chips, Gatorade's, grapes,berries, hand sanitizer and a roll of paper towels. Everyone in the group enjoyed the goodies. The outdoor venue is spacious, and they have wooden picnic tables under covered awnings where you can park your car right next to. Service: they have everything you need -masks, pellets/paintballs, and guns, and you can rent, and you can play all day until they close. The only negative remarks based on my group's feedback is that some people played unfairly and didn't call their shots when they got hit and continued to play. In addition the referee, Gavin, although he was super nice and cool, he let a lot of things slide so the people in my group got upset about that. The smell in other people's review is true- it is STRONG and hard to get away from if you are trying to watch people. Darkcade - this was the group's unanimous favorite of the day. The room offered some very unique challenges and puzzles that we weren't accustomed to facing in other escape rooms and it had a very cool atmosphere. 9/10 Wrecked - a fun room that looks like it was created using old dressing rooms from a store in the mall. Some really cool ascetics in the room and the little aliens on the screen talking to us throughout the room made it fun and immersive. 8/10 Popstar Revenge - the group's least favorite of the day but still a fun room. It was a little chaotic in there and the room didn't flow as well as the other's. It had a cool atmosphere just got really confusing at some points and we got really stuck at one puzzle and our GM wasn't able to offer us guidance they just told us what we missed which was a little frustrating. 6.5/10 I wasn't impressed with our GM's, we had 3 different ones throughout the day, a different GM for each room and only one of them really seemed like they even wanted to be there. They don't get enthusiastic when providing the rooms backstory or anything they kind of just went through the motions of repeating what's written on the website and sent us on our way, it's nice when the GM is energetic and having fun along with you, makes the rooms feel more interesting and immersive. We did enjoy ourselves and we're going to visit their Westlake location in the future to take on those rooms, I'd recommend giving it a shot if you're looking for a fun and reasonably priced escape adventure.

Thanks for all the planning and hard work to construct the tournament range and the volunteers who put these events on. Fortunately the weather was great (not too hot). We had a great time in Simi Valley and looking forward to coming here again. Cell phone reception on the range is not too good although you can get a little bit of reception in certain spots, and it does work if you drive 5min into the surrounding neighborhood.

I recently tried the public Saturday archery class from 9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and had a blast…read more You can come armed with your own equipment if you're an expert or intermediate level, but as a first-timer, newbie, or beyond, they provide you with equipment to borrow. The staff goes over your eye orientation (whether right or left-eye dominant), provides you with an archery arm guard, and goes over the safety rules. They had multiple instructors who helped you orient yourself and your bow and arrows to shoot at the target. It felt like many directions, but as you go more rounds, your body and brain start to retain the information. I cheered when I finally hit the target! My only goal for the day, besides getting out of bed, was to hit the target! Maybe I didn't hit dead center, but an arrow (and even more arrows) made it onto the target! Yay! There is no good cell phone reception at the range where the public course is held, so if you're meeting anyone, try to make sure you decide where to meet beforehand. There is free parking on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. through a fence to your left, a little from when you enter the park. The public session costs $5, and you must sign a waiver. Bring cash, as, once again, you will probably have no cell service. Thank you to Kevin and the other instructors and staff who helped me patiently. I couldn't believe how quickly the two hours flew by. Everything was well-organized, and this is such an amazing weekly event that Conejo Valley Archers hosts. Thank you again!
