I have been coming to Awesome Perfumes for the last year or so and wanted to update my review from a 4-star to a 5-star. To be honest, I could've updated this review a while ago, but have been really busy. First off, the ambience of the store is really nice and clean-- they offer test strips for each cologne you'd like to test and keep the counters clean. Also the chandeliers on the ceiling really add a nice touch to the atmosphere. Danny, the owner of the store, really knows how to welcome his customers and give insight on what colognes he thinks would be a perfect fit for what you'd want-- if you ask him for something fresh, simple, and good for all-around, he'll show you something you'll be walking out the door- satisfied. Danny keeps has a great selection in stock- as well as keeping his stock in check. Prices are competitive compared to other stores in the area, and you know you're getting the legit deal. You can also check beforehand coming in store what he has in stock by calling the El Cajon store number. I've really enjoyed making connections with Danny and the rest of his employees. I'll keep supporting his business as he reciprocates back in good customer service and giving a product at a reasonable price. Don't look elsewhere for colognes, as Danny at Awesome Perfumes has your back. read more

Awesome Perfumes is nothing short of great! These guys, Danny and his son Shiv-am (not sure if I spelled it right) are genuinely amazing people. So therefore the customer experience will always going to be second to none. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE, shouldn't be spending their hard earned money at the mall to buy overpriced fragrances, you should take your business here instead. They will 100% beat the price of any fragrance that you can get from the mall here! And no it's not a knock off or "fake". I'm a cologne collector, and used to buy all my colognes online. But as soon as I stepped foot in this place, I knew that there's no reason to buy from my online cologne dealer anymore. I am a big fan of Awesome Perfumes! If you are buying perfumes elsewhere, you are making a huge mistake. They have a huge selection of perfumes and colognes at an incredible value. In fact, I've saved a huge amount of money by buying my favorite fragrances there! I recently saved $57 on a men's cologne! I'm in love with Juicy Couture perfumes. I've always bought mine from Macy's or Ulta beauty. I recently stepped inside here just to see what they have and I was floored by their prices! 50% less than Macy's prices and it's all authentic! If there's a particular brand you buy frequently, check this place out first. They even gave me a free gift, a mini travel tube. Nice and friendly owner too. Definitely coming back here! read more

Omg!! I was so impressed by this place. At first I was skeptic because there was no way brand scents could be affordable plus legit, I spent plenty of time googling and making sure this wasn't a scam. Fabulous selection of men's and women's perfumes/colognes as well as a huge assortment for young people. Great prices. I haven't found anywhere else better. They have single perfumes as well as gift boxes. Customer Rep was very nice and informative. He helped me pick out perfume for my 20+ granddaughters. He mentioned that Christmas Eve is their biggest selling day of the year. If looking for a nice gift for someone special, you may want to go before that day. read more

Prices online and prices at the store are NOT the same. When I tried to price match from their website, the man that attended me said that I was paying for shipping and that is why it was more expensive at the store than online. Which makes NO sense. They obviously buy in bulk and don't get shipping fees and charge their clients shipping for EACH perfume sold. First and last time shopping here. read more

I ended up buying 2 of the smallest size to try out along with a tiny little cuticle oil bottle because my cuticles are always so dry. A good set should be thin, not bulky or puffy, with a smooth surface (no lumps or dips), a clean cuticle area (no product on the skin), and straight, even shaping. I'm not sure if it's the products being used, the application, or rushing, but for a mid-to-high price range, I expected better consistency and attention to detail. I was also told it was due to my natural nails, but I've had my nails done at other salons and never experienced these issues, so I don't believe that's the case. I really appreciate their willingness to fix the work, but I'd prefer a place that gets it right the first time without needing adjustments. Especially since those adjustments aren't the best either... Getting your nails done should be a fun, relaxing experience, not one where you're worried about the outcome each time.

Listen guys, I've been searching and searching for good colognes. I have watched videos and videos about niche colognes, it's hard to make a decision. I found this store online that carries niche and called ahead of time. Danny picked up the phone, he was really nice and pleasant when talking to me so I headed in. When I entered the store, Danny took the time to explain so many things to me about niche for women. I told him I am looking for a solid cologne for my girlfriend but she's currently at the U.S Embassy in Australia. Danny proceeded to show me various types and explained each one. I finally decided to get Aventus for her by creed, AND walked out with La vie est belle by Lancôme. I personally own Aventus Creed so I wanted my lady to match me lol plus Aventus for her is sooo good. I then noticed they had a huge collection of niche for men so I smelled various Creed colognes and I walked out with Millesime Royal by Creed. Danny was amazing and patient. I believe this just became my go to place. The price did not disappoint, they carry quality and I saved close to $500 on the 3 colognes. If you're reading this, I want to thank you Danny. I drove by this lovely place while I was going to get a coffee. I was curious so I went in. I was absolutely mesmerized as I opened the door! There were thousands of different perfumes/colognes, all sparkling; the floor was a beautiful tile that looked so shiny and glossy, almost like it was wet; and the lighting was just so perfect! The 2 gentlemen greeted me and asked how they could help. I asked if they had the 2 kinds of perfumes I wanted, Halston and Juicy Couture. They did and at a price I could afford! I got a free gift, a cute atomizer and they even ordered a lotion/perfume I asked about but had not seen since the late 70's!!!! My wife goes to Danny's other business Awesome Brows which is right next door and she loves it! Based on reviews and my own personal experience of seeing how great the service and cleanliness of boutique is, I decided to try Awesome Perfumes next door. Fragrance has become a recent hobby of mine, I believe it adds another layer of personality to a person. The friendly and knowledgeable staff at this store helped me find what I was looking for. Absolutely a great experience!! Had the item I needed which was sold out and unavailable every where else. Called ahead of time and placed the item on hold and voila! At first glance I wasn't sure what I'd find, but after spending some time going through the racks, I found something classy and one of a kind for a great price. The store is well organized, with clothing sorted by size and color, which made browsing easy. The fitting rooms are spacious, and they also carry shoes and accessories, which I'll definitely keep in mind for future occasions. The reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 5 is that the loss-prevention/customer service approach felt a little overbearing at times. Associates were very attentive, but I was asked multiple times if I needed help while browsing, and there was often someone ready to take items from my hands or move them elsewhere. After I found the dress I wanted, I overheard an employee being instructed to place it behind the register before I checked out. I understand the need for theft prevention, especially with consignment inventory, but as a paying customer it left me feeling monitored rather than welcomed. The checkout experience reinforced that feeling. When I attempted to pay with a $50 bill, the reaction made it seem as though there was concern about whether it was legitimate, so I ended up using Apple Pay instead. After checking out, I was told I could select a complimentary item from the store's dollar wall as part of their rewards program. While looking for my item, I was once again asked if I needed help by someone I was approached by several times before (I feel like if I needed that much help I would know who to find???). By that point, I was honestly irritated. That said, I did find a great dress at a great price, and I would absolutely shop here again I'd just love a little more room to browse independently.
