Only thing that had me bummed was hearing the owner might be trying to sell the business. I really hope this place stays open, 'cause spots like this are important for families in the community. They house "East County Vinyl" inside which has such an extensive collection of both new and used vinyls that are all priced SO well - we walked out with 5 used vinyls under $30, SCORE (two of them were priced at just $2)! We've already tried playing all 5 of them and they were in pristine condition. Walked into the back and they have a really nice assortment of furniture, art, books, a small rack of clothing, vintage decor and collection pieces alike, all of which were priced very well!! Even though the clothing rack was small, I found this really cool Padres shirt :) The gentleman working today was also very kind and helpful, he even offered to hold the vinyls we found up at the register so we could continue perusing around the store. The consignment and vintage market, especially in San Diego, marks up prices but the Consignment Shack makes it affordable for all! Can't wait to come back!!!

It felt like the old school days browsing through old records and finding great deals... unlike other stores where they overcharge. The owner was sweet and very welcoming which was appreciated. I was able to find a few vinyls to add to my slow growing collection. The other side was more of the consignment area, offering a variety of items, from comic books, to vintage Barbie's, to furniture and more. When I make it back to this area, I will definitely stop by again.

We had been shopping for a firm supportive mattress recently. My wife isn't a fan of memory foam,…read moregel, or hybrids, so that eliminated many options. Over the years, I feel that my back prefers a mattress that is more supportive and firm versus plush and soft. Our aunt had purchased a mattress for a guest room. We mentioned we were looking for a new mattress and she suggested we try the one she had recently bought. We tried it and liked it, but liked it even more when we found out it was inner spring. My aunt told us about this place and we went to check it out. This place is definitely nothing like Ashley Homestore. It is way smaller and has less of a selection, but quality of the goods seemed okay to (possibly) good. We shop based on craftsmanship and quality more than a brand name. Though brand name and quality often go hand in hand. Ben, an employee of the store, directed us to the mattress we were looking for. We tried the "Sapphire" mattress my aunt purchased and the "Diamond" mattress which is in the same brand line. We asked Ben where the mattress was made. He told us it was made in Japan. The mattress felt great and we decided to purchase it. The story sort of goes downhill from here. We paid the money and scheduled delivery. My wife had made a small distinct mark on the store room mattress because she was paranoid that they would send us the display! Sure enough, she was right. They brought over the mattress the following week and my wife spotted the mark she made. We told them we didn't want the display and the delivery guy (Randy?) agreed to take it back saying it was a mistake on his brother's (Ben) part. The following week, they scheduled delivery of a new mattress. They brought it in our home and it is covered in a sort of gray fiber-plastic wrap. We thanked them and trusted that they delivered the mattress we wanted from the store. We cut open the wrap and found that the mattress has the same logo, but a completely different name and pattern on the mattress (see pictures). Also the tag says that the mattress is made in Vietnam (not Japan like we were told). We try calling the delivery guy back, but the number on the business card is for the store. We explained the situation to the lady on the line (Helen?). She brushed us off and told us that despite the name and difference in pattern, it is the exact same mattress. Did they tell us any of this? No, it was our first time hearing about it. Could they have called us to tell us any time before delivery after discovering the change? Yes, but they did not. Long story short, we ended up having them bring back the store room display. After a month plus, we still like the mattress. What we did not like was the attitude and poor service we received from Helen. If it weren't for Randy, the review would be one star. No one goes to a store and expects to receive a demo or store room model. We don't buy an iPhone and expect to receive a store demo. At minimum, we should be informed if we are purchasing a demo. I'm almost certain that there are laws that protect consumers against these types of scenarios. First time shopping here, and last time. The only saving grace is the mattress has been decent. 3.75 / 5 - Mattress 0.5 / 5 - Service 3 / 5 - Cleanliness 2.4 / 5 - Overall

Helen showed gave me several options on a sectional and found one that matched was I was looking for and had it delivered the following week. This is the second purchase I've made from the store and I have been very pleased with both purchases. As some reviewers have pointed out there is another furniture store with a similar name close by, so be sure to get the right one.
