I enjoy seeing the available items in goodwill. This location is pretty well organized and arranged displays well. I was browsing the blankets,, books, workout and business clothing and office decor. Some items still had original tags and were unused. I saw an unopened box of affirmation cards but the date was 2015. I laughed with my friend because technically motivation doesn't expire but I still didn't get it lol. I purchased a cute pink sign that says "Dream Big" for my office. It was $4. The pricing has gone up at goodwill. I always look for deals and compare prices. Seeing the asking price for DONATED items and knowing how much things cost brand new really surprised me. I know more people thrift shop but I thought the store was meant to be affordable than purchasing new. Some prices were ridiculous. Clothing from fashion nova and shein were there and the price is what you can pay online. So, just be mindful and shop smart. It's useful if no credit card or no time to wait for shipping. Nothing stood out about service. I only spoke to someone at checkout and he was nice. It was a brief interaction. I don't know if the specific store sets the price or the brand has some required go by pricing sheet. I'm going 3 stars mainly for pricing. Everything is not affordable to all and for free items, it should be. read more

This Goodwill is more on the pricey side. Anything with new tags seems to be priced almost original price. They do have an amazing selection of clothing and kitchen supplies. The staff is really nice and welcoming once you step in. read more

My goal was to find some animal ears to wear for Halloween 2025. This Goodwill has an amazing selection of costumes for both kids and adults -- way better than spending $60 on something you'll only wear once or twice. The store is clean, well-organized, and they even have a nice variety of purses. Just as I was about to give up my search, I spotted a pair of anime ears still in the package for $3.99, on sale for $3.74 -- I rounded it up to $4.00. I highly recommend this Goodwill for fun and unexpected finds! read more

One of the few goodwills I am continuously impressed with. I'm not sure if they hand pick what they put out on the racks but I mean I have found so many luxury brands with tags. I have also purchased garnets stoned for 13$ and got them valued at $600. I mean they really don't overprice anything in comparison to other Goodwills. There is an abundance of parking. The only downfall is that, if you come out with too many thugs you have to walk some to your car and you can't take out the carts. Staff is a hit or miss. Sometimes you get amazing employees that go above and beyond and sometimes you get those that look like they are miserable. Either way if you're in San Diego, you have to come to this goodwill! read more

There was a 25 minute wait for the salon next door so I killed time by looking at things in this Goodwill store. It was my first time here and I was impressed with the selection and how clean everything was. I needed a new wardrobe since it's been a while since I went to the office so I got a handful of blouses which cost around $6-$7 each. Most of the blouses look brand new but I do have to admit that they were more practical than trendy, which I didn't mind since I mostly buy clothes for the pattern, color and how they fit my shape! The man who worked at the front desk and clothing section was really nice. Even though I took more than a handful of clothes to the returns, he had a polite smile that encouraged me to try on more clothes! Now, that's what I call good customer service! Price: $ (depends on the quality and brand) Parking: plaza parking Location: Near Smart & Final as well as Dominos & Great Clips. Closer to Helix than proper La Mesa Recommendation: They had a lot of nice jackets and blouses. read more

Went to look for books because that's the only thing decently priced at goodwill (decent but not reasonable, no reason for a used book they got for free to be over $1). I tried to look for pictures online to see if it was worth it but no one had taken any so I came in. 3 bookcases of the most dumb type of books you can imagine. No wonder this place is rated so low. There's no way that's all the books they've got. And judging by all other reviews, it seems they're denying donations even though who the hell are you to deny donating items in working condition? Garbage place trying to look fancy. News flash, it's a THRIFT store read more

The older man who takes the donations in the back is rude and grouchy- tried it twice, I'll take my donations elsewhere

I wouldn't go back to this location. While it's pretty organized and they have a lot of good things it was very overpriced. Not sure why goodwills are pricing things like they are new. I also went to buy a blue toddler skate board and there was two in the store. The other one had a sticker that said 7.99 and was purple my toddler wanted the blue which didn't have a price sticker. When I brought it to the counter they insisted it was 14.99! So I got the purple one instead but very strange to me they tried to price it almost twice as much because it's blue? Like why not match the price the other is exactly the same. read more

If i could give them 0 stars i would. What a fu***g joke. Item was yellow tag, priced for 39.99$. I remove the tag because i'm experimenting their pricing capabilities, i go up to the employee and ask him if he could give me the price for the item, in the back of my head i know that after the employee sees that i'm more than capable of purchasing the product, he would go in the back and mark it up. SURE ENOUGH that's exactly what happened. Guy comes back with a new price tag that reads 59.99$!! Absurd. I was on the phone so i didn't hear the price at first, i thought he had said 49.99$ which is still a mark up. I come back a second time and ask him if he could acknowledge the price on another pair of jeans priced at 39.99$ which is their most expensive price for a pair of jeans, everything else is 15.99$ max. He gives me several reasons (brand, price, etc) I come back a 3rd time, i come back with the price tag and show him what i had done, he says ok look, i will show you something (goes and rips the tag off of some random article and says oh look now it says 12.99$ anyone can go and rip the tag off and claim price. I said yeah but i'm giving you the original tag, he said well upon taking it off you're giving us the power to go to the back and put a new price on it. In my mind i'm saying WHAT THE F**k!! I purchased the pair of jeans at his new price 59.99$, and asked for a manager. Manager comes out and says the same bulls**t, that they have to go in the back price it again, and account for their materials they have to use to reprice it. REALLY?! A piece of plastic and a paper?! Is that the fucki*g materials?! What a joke, this was my go to when my wife comes to get her nails done next door. Never again. Fu*k this place. Stay away from this place, with their illegal practices of marking up items. Manager claimed that the item might've been 39.99$ because they marked it down 2-3 weeks ago. But now since their was no price on it, they have the authority to price it at regular price. read more

I found these brand new cool kicks for $14.99! When I am not busy impersonating my 14 year old, (she has an identical pair,) I find great career clothing here as well. No, it's not dirt cheap thrift store pricing, but the clothing is sized. AND you can try on before you buy. Cool people work here too. read more

It was that time of the year and I was cleaning out my closet and found several items that did not fit or that one would consider out of style these days, so I decided to make a quick trip to drop off some donations. I've been here a couple of and both times I went to the rear of the building because that's where you drop of your donations and receive a receipt for the IRS. A staff member comes out to great you and asked you if you'll be needing a receipt. You just drop off the stuff, in my case clothes, and if you need help, they will help you. It was a little messy outside on the back with all the drop offs and stuff. They do not put the total, on the estimated worth of your items on the receipt. I guess it's on the honor system. Nice good will. read more

This used to be my secret spot! I would find amazing treasures, I'd go a few times a month and have so much fun. But I find myself going less, and each time I go, the prices are outrageous. And you can tell they aren't moving items because retail is stacked so high, and mobile racks crowd the isles, it's truly hard to get around the store. Not surprising to see other Yelpers expressing the same sentiment. I understand this particular location is appealing to the Mt. Helix crowd, but they'd be moving more items if they were reasonably priced, all the stuff was DONATED (free), so price it to move, not to collect dust. read more

Omg they are so overpriced you'd think it was Nordstroms with used items Yesterday some novice manager informed me an insulated cooler bag that had no price (that you can get at Ross new for 9.99) was $24.99 He didnt even google a comparison - lazy guy but the cashier , a sweet little gem, is the only reason Im giving a star - she gave amazing customer service So to recap the prices suck & I get they have a quota to reach in sales as they compete w/other Goodwills but they suck read more

I saw all the other reviews regarding the boutique section and can't give a good verification of whether or not the prices are kind of outrageous. Honestly, it seems like a few of the Goodwills I've been to around San Diego have raised their prices since the pandemic began. However, I will say that I bought some bathing suit tops and I remember them being around $6 when I swear bikini tops used to be around $3. Either way, I was still able to find some deals, the store was clean and well-organized, and the cashier was very friendly. I've aded this location to my regular Goodwill circuit. read more

I purchased a small Xmas tree for $25. I thought it was expensive but it had lights included. 2.days later I put it 2gether the lights didn't work. The 3rd day I took it back. They said the money was not refundable after 48 hrs. No one explained to me that policy. I talked to the manager & she refused to give me the money back..I took it outside and threw it in the garbage. Those people were not even nice. This is a smallish Goodwill, but I found most of the items to be of good quality. I was super happy to find a beautiful solid oak computer desk/cart for $19.99! It needs to be sanded and refinished, but is comparable to (and actually nicer than) a similar new one that sells for about $400. You can occasionally find a decently priced item, but good luck. They're literally selling used towels out of a bin for 4 dollars. There was a water bottle priced at 10 dollars. I'm not kidding. This is the most delusional thrift store I've ever been to. I used to go check the DVD section because games were typically somewhat reasonably priced, but they're clearly comparing to eBay or something because now they're all behind a glass case and the only game I saw was a Wii game priced at almost 50 dollars. Go somewhere else. read more

This Goodwill is crammed full of over priced items. A thrift store full of used, donated items, should have reasonable prices. Many of the items I looked at can be purchased new for less than what Goodwill is selling them for. I didn't buy anything and I won't be back to shop here in the future. Part of the price hike is due to people removing tags to try and get a better price. That just ruins things for everyone. STOP REMOVING TAGS TO TRY AND CHEAT THE STORE, HAVE SOME DECENCY. read more

This Goodwill is so outrageously expensive I can't believe they sell anything there! Walked in this evening, husband saw a button down mans shirt with VW bugs on it. It's cute. I was in the area and decided to stop by and do some shopping. The store is clean and was surprised how much stuff the place has. This place never seems to take donations. They're either "too full" despite empty carts or their donation days are very limited. Seems to change frequently. I usually come here a few times a year to donate goods after a closet clean out. I will never come here again due to an extremely RUDE woman in the drop off area. She was in her late 50s, Hispanic, with short dyed blonde hair. She should be nowhere near customers. She yelled at a guy for backing his car up to the bins to unload and yelled at me about which bin I was putting things. (And I was conscientiously putting things in the correct bins!) I asked her if there was another bin for household goods and she very rudely says, "No. Don't you see my guys? They are unloading, so you are JUST going to have to WAIT." When I looked at her in shock (due to the way she was speaking to me), she said, "yeah I'm sure you're in a hurry, but that's too bad." The guys unloaded a bin a minute or two later. She could have said that instead, but she chose to be rude. I unloaded a few things while she glared at me and I took the rest and left. I won't be back. read more

Very small store with limited selection. But everyone is nice and the place is clean.

This is a Thrift Store, not a consignment store as listed on Yelp. The store is very clean and organized, best part is that it has a dressing room so you can try things on. Some prices seem a little steep for used, donated items though. One downfall is that they never have any markdowns. The Salvation Army always has 50%-75% off on selected days to clear out their inventory, wonder what Goodwill does with their older items that haven't sold... Major disappointment was when I found out that Gilbert was no longer working there. Gilbert made everyone's day with his fun/happy nature. the prices have gone up substantially. and I have always shopped at the goodwill because I was lead to believe that the company focused on hiring people with disabilities -. however in the recent months during my visits I have noticed that the staff has changed , there is an abundance of people that are able bodied , . ...people who are in this country with a refugee status, and working. The refugees already get everything free, and now they want to take away the jobs that were intended to help the physically or mentally challenged. my only deduction would be that goodwill is getting some financial benefit from the government. will not shop there anymore. read more

Stopped in for my first Goodwill experience. This is more like a boutique and is evident in the prices. There are no color coded sales tags. The only sale is a daily discount for seniors, student, military and teachers - a whopping 10% off. I was in the market for an ugly Christmas sweater. The prices in here ranged from $19.99 to $32.99 for a used sweater! I understand the money is going to a good cause, but its still used stuff at new prices. There were a few deals, but it was few in between. I scored a 8 piece canvas print set for $17.99. The employees weren't as customer service oriented as I would expect. I walked around the whole store for 15-20 minutes taking pictures and browsing without anyone even speaking to me. They were bustling along stocking the shelves.
