I come frequently always making donations. I like the process of drive through. Service outside are typically pretty good it's a person or two already outside to assist or comes out once the bell alerts like old time gas stations do for full service gas. I have not been inside in years busy trying to decanter not add to it. They do not take electronics anymore. Wish the hours for donations stayed open an hour longer, especially week days must arrive by 5p cut off is a struggle with traffic. read more

We came to SD on a whim and somehow forgot hats for hiking. We popped into this location to grab some before hitting the trail. Location is pretty well organized and they had a great seasonal display up for Halloween. We went on a weekday evening and had to wait a bit for a staff member to ring us up, but it wasn't particularly busy. Selection here seems decent. They had a good mix of brand name items and more generic goods. Prices were kind of all over the place, with some baseball hats priced at $3.99 and another at $7.99. I looked at a few pairs of shoes and thought it was curious that some had prices written on the soles in marker (likely from another thrift store) and then an additional higher Good Will sticker on it - ie heels with $3.99 in marker but current GW sticker says $9.99. That was kind of frustrating to see a higher price to pay now, knowing that both the previous owner got them used and cheaper, AND it was a donation. Didn't sit right to me. I didn't see signs up like at other GW locations for discounts based on the tag color, but there was a sign at register for 10% off for teachers and military etc with ID. read more

Been in and out of this place thru the entire Covid era, because I have gotten rid of a lot of things in my house, I came here to donate them, sometimes checking to see if they have anything worth buying, I am too familiar with the concept of Goodwill, yet this place was rather too small comparing to some others I had gone to, plus they located in a low income area, most the stuffs I found in this store are junk which I have no use for; another disadvantage they have is their parking lot, the spaces are so limited, they even got people doing laundry next door took their spots all the time, how crazy is that; my suggestion is to do drop off only if you happen to come here, maybe this is the closest Goodwill near you, but there's nothing to shop inside. read more

Yup! I'm a thrift store junkie. I've had this Goodwill bookmarked for a while but only made my way out here the other weekend. I was surprised how organized and tidy in general the store was. They do limit the number of shoppers in the store due to covid, so you might have to wait outside for a bit. I didn't really find any keepers during this trip except for a pair of booties. Overall, the place was kept nice but just didn't score that many finds compared to other thrift stores. Oh well, usually thrift store inventory changes fast depending on the donations they get. Maybe next time they'll get some nicer stuff in. read more

We made a drop off today because my husband has grown out of a few items (several bags of clothing) and I needed to make room in the closet for his new things (mostly room for my things). He was reluctant to let them go but Goodwill makes it easy to donate. You pack up your things, drive them to a Goodwill location and drop them off. The workers are visible and willing to help you sort your items. They also provide you with a receipt for tax reasons. This location is in great condition it's clean inside and out. The inside merchandising is very basic, nothing fancy just racks with clothing in a simple order (men, women, and children) and shelves with donated books, glassware, baskets, etc. Update to review: August 15, 2015 this shop is really nice they actually try and display the merchandise. The shop was busy and the racks were full. Today I was shopping for baskets and they had a nice selection, I couldn't choose just one so I filled my cart with several. ‼ If you are a student make sure you bring your ID ‼ One of the girls who work there told me she couldn't accept my digital proof which was a class schedule. I've shown this location my class schedule numerous times and they've accepted it. I told her I have an ID but I forgot it at home. Brand new items! I've gotten one top and one pair of pants, still with the tag. I also got another pair of pants thats in amazing condition, all now part of my regular work wardrobe. I also got 2, brand new cuisine art cookie tray, for $3.99 each! There was also the smaller one but I didn't need it so I only got the two cookie trays or whatever you call them. It withstand the heat test, how my other cookie sheets have failed. I mean.. It is cuisine art! I've been meaning to replace mine, so glad I caught some here. I'd say if you see those bins in the middle, rummage through it! I seem to get really lucky with those. This place is my new fave, Goodwill go to! read more

Great selection. Really nice and helpful staff. The prices are really low. I bought a lot of items I really needed.

I came at a good time because they had lots of great selection of clothes, plates, shoes, and purses. I snatched some great items; however the clothes were kind of expensive for $6.99 each. I bought a cup w/ saucer not knowing it had a $6.99 price tag for a 6pc. set. I could have asked the cashier for a discount since it wasn't actually a 6pc set (it probably just had the wrong tag) but it's my fault for not double checking before I pay. The cashier did however charged me $12.99 for a sandal which did not belong to me. I wish I discovered this before I got home! I was upset, but did not want to drive back there since it's a far drive. read more

This is a pretty clean and organized thrift shop. There's plenty of parking and finding where to drop donations off is easy. There are plenty of furniture items and books in decent condition. I came across a medical textbook that retails for $200 and walked away paying $5. They had a bunch of original vinyl records (not in great condition but they did have them). They even had some ps3 and ps4 games for $6 Of course, your finds will depend on what you want and how lucky you are. Overall this is a decent place to browse for a little bit and maybe you'll find something you didn't know you wanted. read more

Nice and organized store, not much for fancy designer clothing. There shirts are Okay, some had holes in it. When I go to drop off donations in the back, that's when the fun started. They are so rude to you all the time. I've come 3 times to drop off stuff and every time, there is always an issue, I need to fill out paperwork, I can't walk up to hand deliver, no help from the workers when Carrying heavy equipment. I walked up to hand delivered clothes because I was going to come in and buy more. One of the workers said you have to drive up, I'm like wtf is the difference? Also I'm going into the store. Needless to say, I'm done shopping here and tired of being stressed out every time I come here. read more

Nicest thrift store I've been to. It was really clean and nicely organized. Was able to find a good selection of maternity clothes and more. Lots of name brand things. For such a steal. Lots of the clothes look new or gently worn. I saw lots of clothes with tags still on them. Went around 4 and there was hardly anyone there. I had plenty of space to really look through the clothes. There was a good amount of workers, if I had a question I was able to spot one right away and they informed me where everything was at. Fitting room was clean and decent sized. I was able to get 3 pairs of shorts 4 shirts 2 dresses and a school bus for $40. What a deal! read more

Love this location, has great items a lot of designer stuff and is super well organized. Staff is usually very helpful! I'm a student and go online and have never been issued an id this has never been a problem until today. I've always been able to show my school email and that has worked. I almost wasn't giving enough the discount because the lady claims I MUST HAVE A physical id and they do not allow discounts without(I told her I have showed my email at this exact location) it and to make sure i have it next time. I told her that real doesn't make sense as like me a lot of students tho online or even out of state online so I think the rule should be changed if. I've also been to other location and told them I'm a student and they even said I can show my email without me mentioning it so not sure if this is even an actual rule. If We are able to show that we are currently enrolled through email or our school app we shouldn't need an id. The discount isn't much but we should still have access to it. So if you're a student and you do have a physical id bring it just to avoid the hassle. I have social anxiety so that whole experience was very stressful for me hence the 3 stars read more

Best Goodwill in San Diego, it has a large selection of furniture that is nicely displayed and I can picture it at home. Also it has a lot of ladies clothing, shoes and purses. Check out the showcase with name brand purses and shoes. You can tell the staff that works there Is really happy working there, they greet you all the time and display the store beautiful. I don't like to post any negative comments unless they are very much warranted. I have been shopping at this location for around 15 years. It's convenient as I live fairly close. Yesterday as I was waiting to make my purchase I noticed there were 4 workers assisting a customer at the counter. Apparently she had purchased a clothing article that didn't fit and was trying to return it. The workers were telling the customer that it was past the "7" day return policy. This is all well and good however the way they were speaking to her was not. One of the workers were quite rude with her. She had missed the return day by ONE day. Come on Goodwill... you know your going to resell the item and it isn't going to cost your company a dime to give her store credit. I understand policies and procedures, I also know that they can be altered to make the customer happy. Plus you do not have the changing rooms open due to Covid, I'm sure you can make exceptions. Then the customer tried to leave the bag she had with the cashier as there is a sign stating " all bags must be checked at the register" and the worker rudely said " thats yours you need to carry it" just WOW.. This is the second time I have witnessed unprofessional customer service given by employees at this location. Maybe Goodwill can use all the " would you like to round up 5 cents, 3 cents" they ask for and give your employees proper customer service training. I'm also a bit confused, earlier the same day I was in Escondido at the Goodwill and the cashier had told a customer that the return policy is 10 days. Would be nice to be on the same page with your stores. read more

Five stars for a Goodwill! Yes, it's true. You know I am talkin' to you bargain shoppers. I am right there with ya..I like a good deal and I am willing to go hunting for it! This particular Goodwill is very organized, and just like other reviewers have wrote here: even the clothing is racked by color! Not only that the pricing is so good! Today I found a beautifully made Italian shirt, and two pairs of very nice designer pants for just about $15! This thrift store is clean, and has plenty of home goods, fabrics, and even an area that has bit of "nicer" stuff for the home. From shorts, to jackets- to glassware and picture frames you can find it here. Men can find suits for ten to twenty bucks and they are all in great shape. While I was there a huge line formed so I just continued to look throughout the store. How many times have you been at a resale shop like this and then you get the register and they only accept cash? ; [ I've done it - well, they accept plastic here! I did not encounter one rude person [as I read some of the reviews, this comment was more directed to the people in the back accepting donations ] Instead, I complimented the store to two different employees, and they were very kind. Lesson people: put out a little kindness with a smile out there, and you will probably get it returned to you. I am totally returning to this Goodwill and still am so stoked to have journeyed off of my usually path to shop here today! Highly recommend! read more

Don't even bother going to this one, the "Goodwill" 's of America woke up one day and turned into the "Nordstrom" want-to-bees. Prices are triple what they used to be. A shame they're spending all that money in advertising and passing it on to the loyal thrift store shoppers. They're management is paid better then some department stores pay. So...this place used to be my little gem. Then the store went through a massive face lift and remodel. The result (as observed in other stores throughout the county): higher prices, less goods and the same mold ridden clothing. This store has limited parking and there is a huge wait for dressing rooms. The vast isles of undiscovered treasures and glassware have been cut in half. Everything is more expensive. Stopped by yesterday just to browse and surprisingly they had Customer Appreciate Day! All clothing were 50% off except pink tags. I walked out with 4 tops and 2 air of ankle jeans for $16.47! I also bought my Husband a brand new pair of Nikes & a brand new wrapped taboo game for $40. I used my student discount on those 2 items and saved 10%. So clean and organized. This place isn't the greatest, but it's not bad. I feel things are overpriced here and they don't have any sales like other thrift stores. They recently remodeled the place, but it didn't help, cuz things are over priced, except maybe the clothes but I don't go for the clothes. One positive for me is that they recycle electronics year 'round so good spot to take that old tv you've been trying to get rid of. read more

(*******No bathroom! *******) Go before or run like crazy to the gas station next door to the car wash I stopped in here looking for a Halloween costume last year. I was in a rush, stressing about the time (day before i needed the costume,,,lol). I guess i looked tired and this lady asked me if i needed help. I described what i wanted my costume to look like and she helped me pick a few things out. I was going for a day of the dead costume and I ended up with a good batch of things. So I went on my merry way and had a blast dressing up in my outfit. Since then I've been here about 8 times,,,lol. They have some very great finds for women's clothing. Some of the items still have the tags on them! The only problem is there is no bathroom, it gets very hot in there (no air and they don't open up the back door (it's not in the best neighborhood). For men's clothing It's mostly a miss for me. I never find something in my boys sizes. They have a very nice glass selection. Nice candy bowels, vases, frames, mirrors, flowers and those glass grapes your grandma had,,,lol It is also cool that they have dressing rooms. If your a student, military, or elder bring your Id and you get a nice discount. I love coming here in the morning when it's not hot yet or very busy. P.S. Pretty clean, organized, and roomy location so it's pretty easy to navigate through the aisles when others are shopping around. And they're constantly putting newly-donated items on the floor to be sold. Large selection of everything from clothes to accessories and housewares. And one of the cashiers actually greeted me when I came into the store. That's always a plus in customer service. Make sure you have your ID handy for that student, military, or senior discount. Just off the freeway (east of the 805); make sure to slow down or else you might just miss your turn. read more

They have a nice selection of clothes but be prepared to stay long to find them. Not very organized.

I came to this Goodwill on the advice of a friend. I personally wasn't impressed. I looked around for about an hour or so. My first thought was that it was going to be a great experience. As soon as I walked in there were 2 electric guitars. Of which one was a bass. Each needed a little TLC and for the right customers could be a bargain at $19.99 each. I figured if they had the two guitars they'd possibly have more instruments. And if they had more instruments they'd have mandolins and if they had mandolins they have a reasonably priced F Style mandolin and of 5 hey had the reasonably priced F Style Mandolin I would walk out a happy man.The search continues. I had several things on my list of possible purchases. I walked out the door without a purchase and killed an hour that could have been spent more favorably. For the most part I felt the store was too expensive for a second hand store. No one even bothered to acknowledge that I was in the store. NOR did anyone ask if I needed help And as I mentioned they didn't have the items I was looking for. They had a large sellection of men's clothes but none I felt jumped off the rack and said take me home. So, you ask me would I reccomend this Goodwill? Not if you have a good thrift stote in your neighborhood. WILL I visit again? Probably not. read more

What the hell! Where did all the CDs go?! I like to come to Goodwill solely to browse their CD collection. I can spend literally half an hour just going through all of their CDs and finding hidden gems. After their recent remodel, their CD section has shrunken down to like 40 CDs! What in the world!? Where did they go!?!? No more finding old albums from the 90s (Brian McKnight, Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men), albums you don't want to pay full price for (Katharine McPhee, Red Hot Chili Peppers) and doubles of your favorite albums (BSB, Nsync, 98 degrees.) Yes, the place doesn't smell like mold and feet anymore. Great. But that doesn't mean that they had to compromise the media section. Geez! read more

Clean better looking than most and I just found an Africa mask , plant stand and six dresses brand new from David's bridal shop and a 70's hat for $40bucks I'm so happy right now although they had a new Dooney&Burke bag for $60.00 I'm on a budget this month but if its here on pay day it's on !!! This is a Goodwill store in City Heights, close to the 805 freeway. I go here because I like the knic knac section at this store, I usually find good housewares here. They don't have as many clothes as other Goodwill stores, though. Not enough kids clothes. They TRY to have a boutique section, but those items are just overpriced items that belong in the regular section of the store. Small selection of books, but they are usually in better condition than other thrift stores. Customer service is just okay. There is a small parking lot. read more

I'm not sure why San Diego goodwill's don't sort by size but it takes forever to find something. If I find something I like it normally isn't in my size and I have to keep looking. And the shoes! I wish they had shoe racks sorted by size. I typically don't get shoes there just because they're up high and it would take forever to find my size. Just kind of a mess. read more

Fancy, schmancy Goodwill, with fancy schmancy prices on some items. $10 for preworn flats from Target? What? But, $12 for high-end shoes and clothes, so a good trade-off. Fair selection of housewares, especially dishes: none of the chipped-plate-company-coffee-mug junk! Less appealing aspects of the store: clothing aisles are narrow and get seriously crowded, and checkout was sloooow despite a short line. read more

Of all the Goodwills this is my favorite. Everything seems to be priced accordingly. The staff in general are very friendly and able to price things if they are not marked. With the exeption to the manager who's name I believe is Lillybeth. She treats you in a condesending manner and I'm not sure if it's because she doesn't understand what's being said. The place is huge. Most items are easily displayed and although there are only two cashiers they keep the lines moving. They take special care in wrapping fragile items or even boxing them. There is a donation center in the parking lot and although there is limited parking in the lot I have always found parking on the street. They also offer Senior and Student Discounts. read more
