This is 2 year review in the making from personal experience and talking with fellow travelers who also travel with AWAY luggage. Personal side first, I was undecided on the option of The Carry-On or The Bigger Carry-On. I decided on The Carry-On because it passed the carry on dimension requirements for most regional/international flights and less fuss about checking your bag at the gate. Fast forward to 2025 and low and behold airlines changed the carry on dimension allowances so beware of the baggage fees. During the use of The Carry-On what stood out to me the most was the removable battery pack, TSA lock compliancy and the ability to navigate on four wheels while walking through the aisle of a plane. I know I have gained a few lbs but those aisle have gotten narrower! Your luggage is going to get beat up going from workers, to luggage trucks then conveyer belts to you, but the only battle scars my luggage have are a few scuffs in the plastic and some black marks that were removed with the enclosed cleaning product or Sal Suds and some elbow grease. I am so pleased with the product, I double downed and added a new team member. I was debating on The Medium or The Large for an upcoming week long trip. I originally went with The Medium but Bree showed me the option of The Large and The Trunk (think half The Medium, half The Bigger Carry-On) and I was stuck, but after careful deliberation I went with The Large because I can still pack minimal and if I purchase something while traveling I do not have to worry about how and I going to get the items back home. Now do not get me wrong, The Medium is ideal, but I want a bit more cushion for packing, plus I can fit outfits for the snowy regions and some gear. Now for my fellow Travelers I have met along the way, most have not had any issues with their luggage, but the few who did have issues, was with the Flex versions due to over packing. They informed me that some of the stitching did not hold well, but in my humble opinion, the FLEX versions are a good option if you have that last minute item you want to pack not stuff to capacity. (Just my two cents). Anyway, you can get the Flex versions on SALE at the moment. There are many luggage sets you can choose from at various price points but if you do a cost benefit analysis of your specific travelling journey, would you rather equipment that is going to last years and a brand that stand behind their product or something that ok for a couple of years, then you have replace broken parts at the most inopportune time? read more

This very expensive suitcase is not worth it. Save your time and money and go get a Tumi or Samsung. I have their carryon with battery pack compartment. After 3 trips, the troller is broken. The store doesn't offer any help but ask him to deal with customer service and repair it yourself with the kit that they send you that may not work. In my case, since they don't make the battery pack, the troller is slightly different and it was a nightmare trying to repair it. read more

I had a great experience with this location. Customer service was great and the staff really worked as a team to ensure I had the best suitcase doe my needs and wants. They were very patient and knowledgeable as well. They had so many options it can be overwhelming choosing the best fit option for you. They also have bundle deals when you get a set and many add on organizational options. The store was very neat and clean following all COVID guidelines with frequent surface cleaning which made me feel very at ease to shop with confidence and safety. Every Away store I go to gives me this feeling. Away knows how to hire great team members for their brand. I do recommend them. Parking was free and easy to find. read more

Been eyeing "Away" luggage for awhile now, and finally took the plunge after my gal-friends all pitched in a cash gift for me at my bridal shower to use towards new luggage on what would've been my honeymoon this week. Sadly, due to COVID-19, and our destination being a Level 4: high level of Covid cases, we ultimately made the decision to cancel our honeymoon. Nonetheless, I still need needed a sturdy, quality luggage set, and decided to go in to see what all the hype was about and see the luggage in person. The store is aesthetically clean and modern. All staff were wearing masks, and it was pretty empty. Only 1-2 customers were there besides us. I haven't had a chance to use the luggage yet, but I plan to on my upcoming trip to Miami. So I will update this post after I've used the luggage. For now, the experience at the store wasn't anything special. The gentleman that helped us out was kind and answered our questions, however, knowing that this was a first time/new purchase for us, it would have been nice for him to walk us through the luggage brand, the story, and show us how the luggage works, the perks, and what makes them special and sets them apart from the rest, but we had to ask first before we got all that. I think it would also have been helpful to clarify pricing, and review our order before we swiped the plastic because we ran into a bit of miscommunication with our sales associate, and we thought that the monogramming on the luggage tag that comes with the luggage was complimentary. He conveniently left out this piece of info, and had he been more clear and up front, we would've only purchased the pebble leather tag with monogramming, not both. So this review was for my store experience, not the product yet. I really was hoping for a more fun store experience, and a bit more effort into showing us the "Away" luggage brand and experience. I visited the brick and mortar Away store this week for the first time. However my experience with Away began online last year when they had an epic and first ever sale. Last year, I purchased a carry on with battery, a backpack, and the weekender bag. I was skeptical because I didn't believe the hype because I didn't see or hear a bad review. Three trips later, I'm a believer and Away bags and luggage are definitely worth the hype! Fast forward to my visit to the physical store this week--Away is having another sale! I wanted to purchase The Medium but in a specific color that I didn't see online. I called the store and spoke with Bree. She checked and found the bag in the color I wanted, they had one left! I paid for it over the phone and went to pick it up! The physical store is really lovely. The walls are painted in postcards. The luggage is neatly arranged. The physical store is located in Highland Village. They did check my temp prior to entering the store and masks are required! I'd definitely come back for the next sale! read more

My luggage was a gift. One of the best gifts I have received in quite some time because I travel quite a bit . Once I received my luggage, I was so excited for all the bells and whistles, the small details that comes with the luggage which tells me that they have an awesome customer service. I'm not sure the cost of the luggage but I am on the email list and they offer specials all the time. I'm very impressed with the light weight of the luggage and how smooth the spinner wheels rotate, which gives you a constant 360° rolling ability. Very durable exterior, It's a showstopper. Now let's get to the interior, you're gonna love how they put organization into a luggage they did it just for you, and for me. When a person that have visited over 30 countries in four years say "I'm gonna get me Away luggage" that tells you something right there. So So smooth, I was thinking to myself I must've been struggling with those other luggage. I'm replacing all of my travel pieces with matching Away. read more

While I often write reviews recognizing exemplary customer service, I rarely take the time to post a negative review. My recent experience at this Away location and follow up communication with the Away customer service team have, however, left me so frustrated that I felt it important to advise others of the issues we have experienced. Specifically, we have owned two Medium Flex suitcases in Coastal Blue for some time, and they both have met our expectations. We recently purchased two more Medium Flex suitcases, this time in Glossy Salt. Given the glossy finish, we were obviously curious about how the luggage would wear, and we were told that the bags would indeed scuff "a little" more easily than the matte finishes, but they were easily cleaned. We were also told that any cleaned areas may also be slightly less shiny afterwards. We asked multiple times about how the glossy finish wears with use, and everyone in the store reassured us that any scuffing or other cosmetic damage would be only slightly more than with the Coastal Blue bags, and again, the suitcases are easily cleaned. Let me also note that the glossy finish is more expensive, and in what is an unintentional acknowledgement by Away of how impractically delicate the finish is, the glossy suitcases come with a soft storage bag; the standard finish bags do not. Several days later, we traveled with all four pieces of Away luggage. Unfortunately, when we first saw our suitcases upon arrival, we were shocked. While the two Coastal Blue bags were almost pristine, the two glossy suitcases looked as though they were many years old. The glossy luggage had an unsightly combination of multiple long black marks coupled with smaller black speckles and smudges all over the bags. Further, while we had been told by the Away sales team that we could clean the glossy finish if it became scuffed or marked, we (1) have no cleaning products with us, (2) weren't able to remove the black scars with what we did have available to us, and (3) certainly did not want to spend our valuable vacation time on that unpleasant task, as we would have had to clean each bag from top to bottom and front to back given the extent of the marking. We have since had two more stops, and at each location, the two glossy suitcases are looking even more distressed; I cannot even imagine how marred they will be by the time we return home. We also have noticed that the glossy luggage experiences condensation when taken from the plane to a humid environment, which means that dust and dirt from the floor sticks to the lower portion of the bag when being wheeled. While the dirt is easily cleaned, it is an unpleasant and unsanitary task. To summarize, our experience with these two glossy suitcases has been an enormous disappointment. In fact, we have been so disappointed that we reached out to the Customer Service team while on our trip to share our experience, and we received only a cursory and completely unhelpful response in return. We accordingly suggest that if you are considering a glossy finish, absolutely DO NOT believe the Away sales teams' unjustifiably rosy assessment of (1) how minimal the cosmetic damage will be on a glossy finish and (2) how easily the glossy suitcases are cleaned. Instead, you should know that the luggage will arrive at baggage claim heavily scuffed each and every time, and cleaning the suitcases is largely ineffective when the entire bag is covered with markings both small and large. Please also be advised that you are not allowed to return the suitcases despite their complete failure to live up to the standards that were shared when purchasing them. In short, you will be stuck with a suitcase that looks many years old from the very first use. Again, DO NOT believe the Away salespeople's representations, and unless you want to be frustrated again and again, DO NOT buy a glossy finish bag from Away. (The pictures were taken immediately after the first time we used the glossy luggage and, while instructive, do not convey the full extent of the markings. Further, and as noted above, the suitcases have gotten worse in our two subsequent stops.) read more
