My wife discovered this business last year, after rude treatment and ridiculous pricing at one of our local Santa Clarita establishments. Well worth driving all the way to Northridge whenever there is a need for honors to be presented at our church. The owner goes the extra mile to get things just right and to meet your deadline. Even staying late knowing that we were coming from Santa Clarita to pickup the completed orders. I was in the area so I stopped by to ask a question I sent via email a few weeks ago (that never got a reply) and the place was closed. I went during "open" business hours, around 2:30pm on a Tuesday (open according to their times listed here on Yelp). Looking through the glass front door the shelves are bare and there's boxes and documents stacked up everywhere. I knocked a few times but there was no one there. EDIT: Apparently older reviews state it's a mess in the store, I'm confirming that is still the case. So much so that it looks like they're out of business and using the place for storage. read more

Trying to clean up the fact that they are not responsible ...first of all nothing was explained to me so don't put words in my mouth if you failed at being a proper business then don't blame it on your customers. I was looking to engrave a simple 3x2 inches name plate to glue on a plaque as a farewell gift for a mentor. I yelp'ed some engraving places nearby (Northridge area) and decided to go to Award Winners as they have the best rating with the most numbers of review in my area. I made a right choice! I met the owner, Jacques when I walked in (you have to yell because Jacques is in the back engraving). Warn you.. he is a very sarcastic guy with a great sense of humor (not sexual). Very nice guy, but you need to have some sense of humor yourself. I explained to him about what I wanted, and he gave me suggestions as to what he thought would look good. He thought black would look the best, but I wanted a dark bronze one. I inquired about how long it would take and how much it would cost, after a few jokes, I got my answers. He was going to make it right there and then for me. The whole process didn't take long, and Jacques kept me entertained the whole time. I truly enjoyed my conversation with him. He actually ended up making two plates for me (one black and one dark bronze) at no extra charge. Guess what? I ended up using the black one just like he suggested (see attached picture). He certainly knows what he's doing. I walked out of his store feeling satisfied and happy, it was a job well-done at a reasonable price. In addition, you get to interact with a funny and nice human being. I am not exaggerating.. it doesn't happen often that my day is brightened by a complete stranger.
