We took our Honda Odyssey to the dealer when the GPS stopped working. They said the entire infotainment system was dead and quoted us $2,100 for a full replacement, with the car needing to stay overnight. Instead, we went to AVS Elite Services. Owner David quickly diagnosed the real issue -- a faulty antenna connection. He repaired it in just 3 1/2 hours for only $380. David was professional, knowledgeable, and kept us informed the whole time. He saved us over $1,700 and got our van fixed the same day. Highly recommend AVS Elite Services for any auto electrical or infotainment repairs. Honest, skilled, and fairly priced! read more

The service went great. The man who worked on my car was super nice, patient and friendly. He installed a dashcam for my car and guided me on what needed to be done and how my car should properly look like. The entire time I sat in the waiting room, on my phone with banging Mexican music. Overall loved the vibes! Would definitely return. read more

David is the G.O.A.T. with car electronics. I recently visited his new location (been open only three days), and even though he and his crew are still working frantically to get the shop setup, he still took the time to help me out with a lighting upgrade on my Sprinter. During the installation, he noticed that a key part had not been included in the kit from Baja Designs. I was able to drive over to their HQ, pick up the missing resistors, and Dave finished the install and got everything working - PERFECTLY. I am so impressed with David. I live in San Diego and I will gladly drive to Escondido, or even farther, just to get David to do the work on my vehicles. Nobody is better with aftermarket vehicle lighting, audio, and electronics than him in my experience, and I have had a LOT of bad experiences with other techs whose confidence exceeded their competence. read more

this is terrific! I worked with David and he is really awesome. I had a half project that needed some professional help and he was willing and able to take it on. He gave me a very reasonable quote and did the job immediately. I couldn't be more thrilled. He was even able to give me some advice and some tips for my son whose car was. I will definitely come back to this . Thank you so much for your help! read more

I needed to get a little sound system so I called my guy who is also on Coast Hwy. For whatever reason his installer guy doesn't work on Wednesdays. So of course I got on Yelp to check around and I found AVS and I'm glad I did. I was going to an event later that evening in downtown Oceanside so I wanted to get my system installed somewhere near downtown. I give AVS five stars for their location because it's right on Coast HWY. I called AVS and spoke to David and he was very friendly and didn't give me the run around. I told him I needed a system and that I needed it today and he said to come in right now. I get to the shop and David takes a look at my ride and says that he can install the Kicker speaker I already had plus I would need an amp. He gave me a great price as my guy was quoting me more than $100 from what David was charging me. David said it would take a couple hours so I went to downtown Oceanside and had some delicious tacos before my event. Right before my event David calls me and says he's done with my ride. I get there and the system is loud and is seriously bumping. I wasn't expecting it to be so loud but I LOVE it!! David's work was outstanding and I'm so glad I found him!!!! read more

My 2006 Crossfire stereo stopped working. I was afraid to have it looked at because although it could've been the wiring or a fuse, I thought that I would be told I'd need a new system. David and his technicians however were honest and showed me it was just a fuse. The tech put in a new one for a minimal fee and now it works. I was was very pleased and the work was done right away, no waiting. Happy Customer, Donna read more

Took my classic 2001 Eldorado ETC for a simple window motor change in which I purchased the motor and brought it. I was quoted the price and told "OK come back in 3 hours. It'll be done" came back in 3 hours and l paid the bill and walked up to the car window. It didn't go up or down. I went to David and brought him out and told him the window would not go up and down.He was all p***** off right away and took the car in the back. And In a real huffy f***** u* attitude said he "already spent more time than he should have on it and it'll be about 15 more minutes. Theres 3 of us out there working on it what do you want from me?" I said to fix the car I paid you to fix. He said "well I can't the motor is burnt out" I said well then fix it, it was a brand new motor when I brought it. Basically he burned out the new motor, tore all the insulation off My door and was drilling the car door. This is the damage he did to the inside of my El Dorado Cadillac, a 2021 that is f****** immaculate or was immaculate and destroyed the insulation. when I questioned him about it, he told me. I was a stupid m*********** and get the f*** out of his store. Don't take your car here, I'll take it to the dealership, and then I'll see this f****** a** in court. read more

My window was stuck down on my car & my friend recommended AVS. They looked at the situation free of charge and gave me an easy recommendation to grab a part from Amazon & fix myself. I was in such a panic I could have been easily taken advantage off, instead they were genuine, friendly and helpful. He wouldn't even accept a tip. Will be sending friends here! 5 read more

David at AVS , is amazing and reliable. I had a bad experience here, I was in a large vehicle and before I could even park or try and ask him ( the owner)for a quote, he was yelling at me to back down to the Main Street . I don't understand why he was so mad but he was very rude and obnoxious and can't believe he would talk to a potential customer in this manner. His lot was scattered with broken down cars and no room to turn around. I was forced to back into the Main Street where there is oncoming traffic. He said there was a sign but it was not there when I pulled out. Do not take your car here I would not trust him with my vehicle! I don't write many reviews and don't go out of my way to bash businesses, if he was having a bad day he shouldn't have taken it out on me ! read more

I was referred to AVS Elite Services after I had stopped at American Tire Co due to my engine over heating and finding my coolant reservoir empty and my oil needing changed. The referral came when they realized there was a bigger issue. David, the owner of AVS, personally met with me upon arrival. He was able to accurately identify the most likely issue, for which he suggested to run a diagnostic test to verify. In doing so, we found damage to one of my head gaskets. David gave me his recommendations and a price for service. After checking with several other industry professionals, it was clear that David offered a reasonable and well priced solution. Throughout the several days it took me to figure out what I was going to do, David graciously allowed me to keep my vehicle on his property. I ultimately found another service center due to several considerations and circumstances, but none that reflect poorly on David or AVS. I offered to compensate David for allowing me to keep my vehicle stored, however he declined. I wish I had this experience with all auto service centers. David was a true professional, good communicator, and overall honest businessman. I'm very thankful that I ended up at AVS Elite Auto Services. THANK YOU DAVID! read more

I own a older very rare Audi TT Roadster which suffered an electrical issue from a sudden water leak. Audi stated "good luck" the parts are now obsolete and the European mechanics who checked it out wanted a "fortune" to repair it and my insurance company wanted to total the vehicle. One of my colleagues recommended David at AVS so I spoke with David in advance about my vehicles issue and if AVS could help me. I brought my car to David on a Wednesday fully prepared to not see it again for a while as David would probably have to source the parts on Ebay or a salvage yard. David called me 48 hours later stating my car was completely fixed and ready for pick up with a warranty to match. David and Jose are awesome they were able to re-work the module in question fix the circuit boards and do what no European mechanic would even attempt. AVS is truly an incredible auto electric garage although they do everything. I cannot say enough how good their work is and how fair their pricing is. Thank you David and Jose for saving my favorite car you have my business forever! Dr. Farley Brown read more

If you look through my profile, I write fair and honest reviews regarding my experiences of places I've been to. I see many people suggested negative stars for companies and wonder really, was it that bad? Well, there are places that deserve negative stars, and this is one of them. I must warn you, GO HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!! our experience from start to... well NEVER finished was Horrendous! Our story: We live over an hour away and purchased a truck and the dealer suggested there were a couple of places to go have a new stereo put in. So he suggested a couple of places including this one. I wish we had gone to one of the other places he recommended. After taking the truck there on a scheduled Saturday morning to have a stereo and backup camera installed, 3 plus hours later we get the truck. We were told the box, instructions, etc were in the truck. We mentioned the backup camera was jittery and shutting off, but they said this will adjust. We get to the gas station and noticed no box was in the vehicle of the system we bought. We also noticed the clock would keep resetting on us? So, we thought we would try and figure things out on our own since they did not offer any help when asked. After several hours of trying adjustments, we still had issues and questions. I tried calling Sunday but voice messages FULL I sent an email outlining our concerns. 1. We again asked for the box and instructions for the new system so we can try and figure it out. 2. The USB to the stereo was not recognizing any of our phones. 3. The backup camera flickers on and off when in reverse and the screen of it is all purple. It is acting like the wiring to it is not correct or not enough voltage. It is not usable as it is. David Hilario apologized and said to bring it in Monday my wife and son drove back down another hour to go over the issues again. 1. We get there and we are told "Well the USB is only meant for charging not functioning anything else" We would need to buy a better model stereo for other functions... " Do you think you could move the USB to a different location rather than in the glove box where you put it? This way we can access it as needed? No, unless we run it under the carpet.. We asked for it to be run just under the radio. They would not do that. 2. "The backup camera should be fine now just turn off your lights when you are backing up so you can see it better" Turn off the lights at night while backing up... Sounds safe right? Then we are told no backup cameras function correctly unless you pay $1000. They give us back the truck indicating the backup camera works. We get in... NO SIGNAL Umm well, it must be broke... We do not have anymore. You will need to come back AGAIN when we have one that works. 3. We were then questioned as to why we would even bring back the truck for these issues. With all these issues we paid for you think we want to drive another 2 hours total to come back and sit and wait at this shop? No apology or anything for driving another hour back to have things corrected. We started questioning their statements and they got angry with us telling us we had to work with them. So, this place does this for a living has only one non-functioning backup camera. We have to drive another hour back down there WHEN they get one in that hopefully works. This will make it 4 hours in total. We asked for at least some compensation for all of this. "Show me your mileage receipts" Again, no apologies nothing just VERY rude behavior and the workers there seemed like they had no idea about anything. I am not exaggerating any of this and actually leaving out other rude comments made by employees. We then get an email saying After looking at your vehicle earlier today, I was able to conclude the backup camera has a factory defect. The only solution is to replace it. I am currently out of stock on this item, and to go through the car dealer to get our money back! This place was rude and accusatory with no apology for us going several hours out of our way to get this poor work done. This caused my wife and son to get angry back and now they do not want to deal with us because we called them out on their BAD service and rude behavior. read more

Went in to get my windows tinted. Super friendly staff! I expected to be waiting a few hours for my car to get done but it was finish quicker than expected. Initially I wanted to get 5% tint on my windows but I was told it might look too dark on my white car. So he suggested the 20%. At first I was going to go forward with the 5% but I figured he knew best so took his suggestion. I absolutely LOVE the 20% tint on my car. And I probably would have hated it if I went any darker. I'm very satisfied with how my windows look and glad I took his suggestion. I stayed in the waiting room the entire time and they put on a movie for my son and made sure we were comfortable. Grade A service! I highly recommend getting your windows tinted here! read more

AVS garage on 101 Oceanside CA is the Worst Garage in North County. (AVS Elite Services 820 S. Coastal Hwy, 92054) DON'T RISK YOU LIFE TAKING YOUR CAR THERE. This garage used to be good but the new owner "Dave" Is a liar and a rip-off. I paid him 4K in cash, and nothing gets fixed. I've been back five times to get my car finally fixed and the "repairs" are worse and worse each time. Now the whole under chassis of my car is covered in oil. NO repairs he did are fixed. My tire guys finally fixed the brake "repair" AVS was also supposed to have done telling me Dave at AVS "missed" some things. The brakes were a "life threatening" situation after his repairs. Etc. etc. DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR TO AVS CAR REPAIR IN OCEANSIDE! You would regret it. PS. If I could have given a minus -5 star review I would have. PSS. To add insult to injury, even the car radio (his "speciality") didn't work a week later. Don't waste your time & money. read more

I can't say enough good things about David and AVS Elite Services. I had the unfortunate luck to have my catalytic converter stolen literally out from under my car one night. It was late Friday afternoon when I discovered it. I started to panic because I really needed my car and I called around and nobody could help at such a late time. That is until I called David. He offered to take time to come to my car since I was afraid to drive it, and he was not too far away. He dropped what he was doing to help me! He then went above and beyond to find the right part for me and communicated at every step. So much so that I felt like we were becoming friends we talked so much, ha! He provided incredible service and reasonable rates. I'm beyond grateful for having found AVS! Please give your business to this stellar shop! read more

I had HID lights installed on my Jeep GC by a "friend" of mine about a year ago. Said "friend" gave me a lifetime guarantee and the lights and stated that if anything went bad with them that he would replace them immediately. Fast forward to a year later. Lights fail and he makes every excuse to elongate the process just so he wouldn't have to do it. I'm here driving with one light, sometimes no lights, every day. (I work early in the AM when it's dark and don't get back home until it's dark) Finally told him that his lazy ass got his wish and decided to call David at AVS. Simple summary: Called on Wednesday, helped on Saturday, finished the job in two hours. Oh and the HID kit was not installed correctly by my "friend" the first time. If I would've come to AVS first I also would've saved close to $50 on parts and labor. Anything electronic I need done to my car, I'm coming to see David at AVS. Pure professional, no bs. THEY DO IT ALL!!!! Brakes, spark plugs, rotars, transmission flush, oil changes, alignment, belts, audio......I HIGHLY recommend bringing your car here. I was introduced to David (the owner ) 2 years ago, for what I believe was new spark plugs and a bunch of other random things that were falling apart on my car , and have gone to no other shop since . Him and his workers have always done a phenomenal job and I've always appreciated his honesty. David has always gone out of his way to get me the best price on parts, took my car in even when his shop was closed, returned it in a timely manner, and is genuinely a nice family man, looking to expand his business. Many times I had multiple quotes from various shops so I could make sure nobody was trying to get over on me , and every single time , AVS would give me the best prices and not add in a bunch of work that wasn't necessary. AVS used to be a shop for Audio/alarm installations/repairs but recently expanded and they do it all. I HIGHLY recommend bringing your car there for any work needed. Guaranteed to leave happy :) Soon enough, you'll be referring your whole family !!! read more
