Customer service was excellent. The man who helped us was friendly, efficient, and helpful. He processed the car rental pretty quickly and asked if we were interested in upgrading. The staff member gets a 5 star. However, the overall rating is a three because the car we got was dirty both inside and out. We were disappointed to get a car that was not clean. The interior was not vacuumed and exterior was not washed. I doubt the car was disinfected. read more

Worst Rental Car Experience Ever. Rented a luxury car for pickup on Friday at 2:30, we arrived and the rep told us they had reserved for us the Lincoln MKT which they got in the night before, but it hasn't had its oil changed so she said she can't rent it to us. This location is connected with a lube and engine repair shop and they couldn't get the oil changed? So she takes us outside and shows us a Mazda SUV and tries to tell us this is better than a luxury car. I wasn't keen on getting the Mazda so I ask her about the Chevy Malibu sitting there. At first she agrees to rent the Malibu to us then she changes her mind after looking at her system and tells me we have to rent the Mazda and that we are prepaid so she can't give any type of discount. At this point I need to be on the road heading toward AZ not trying to get the car I paid for, so I took the Mazda, never been forced to rent a car I didn't want before. Get on the road it's burning through fuel and the lane departure blind spot monitoring keeps going off when there is no one beside us, the car stinks and hasn't been washed on the outside. We called up Avis who sent us to the Ontario airport location to swap out cars which delayed my trip even further but they were very nice and told me the other location should never have downgraded me like that especially without calling me that morning to let me know. So they gave us the Chrysler 300 which was washed and clean inside, didn't have working USB ports but good thing I brought a charger just couldn't use CarPlay. Worst car rental place ever charges 30 a day and a additional 20 if you are 30 min late. My dad rented it for me and I was explaining to the worker that I would be there in 30 min the person on the phone said ok then I get there and they charge 50 more. Then they insulted me that the rental is not in my name and my dad knows these suppose grace periods!! Wtf never renting here again. read more

Horrible customer service, very unprofessional, one person doing everything(car wash, vacuum, paperwork and etc,) but this wasn't the issue for me. I made the reservation 4-5 days ahead, but when I came in, he said we out of trucks. Called customer service, they said your reservation does not guarantees truck, only guarantees the rate. They had the truck available in other location, but won't rent for the same rate. This is ridiculous. read more

God, they should shut this location down. The employee was seen driving the car I was supposed to rent out, a nice Mazda SUV, and of course he gave me another cause that one is not available. Cause he's driving it? Also, he kept saying he wasn't sure what to do cause his system was down, the day before I was there and he said he had locked himself out of the system. Who knows. It's like when your buddy has been skipping on training and then it's time to do the job and it's an "oh shit" moment. It took half and hour to check out the car. ONE car. One person. I had a reservation that I made three days before the date I needed my car and I received a phone call 1.5 hours to pick up that there was no car available and that they would call me when there was an available car. It is 1230 now and still no call.. this is crazy I am sitting here waiting for a call. I will have to book with another company and now the rates will be super high. I had an appointment to pick up my rental at 10am for 4th of July weekend. I got here a little bit before 10am. They did not even have my rental ready. I reserved a 7 passenger SUV and they tried to give me a 5 passenger. The older man was helping me and the younger man was telling him that the SUV I was getting was an upgrade and to give me a smaller vehicle. I told him I already had made reservation for a 7 passenger SUV and asked why was I getting a smaller vehicle? So they gave me a 6 passenger SUV. The couple that came after also made reservation for a 7 passenger SUV and they got stuck with a 5 passenger. As they were checking people in, they were "trying" to clean the cars which they still left dirty. I heard the older man say that they requested more cars and they didn't get them. Some other people that came after left the place because they did not have their cars available. I finally left the place at almost 1145am which delayed my trip. It was a nightmare. I do NOT recommend this place. I will also notify my bank since I made the reservation through my bank. read more

Horrible experience! "Reserved" a car online and when I get to the place they tell me they have nothing available. And the cars they did have available was only through "credit card" which made no sense, just keep my debit card on file and charge all the unnecessary fees at the end lol I had to take a Lyft there and back home but whatever and didn't even try to accommodate. read more

I reserved a truck, was told they had one for me, I show up, the guy says he has no idea what I'm talking about. I settle for a family Van, thinking I could move the furniture piece I needed to move, it did not work. The Van was filthy. It had dirty used hanker-chiefs in counsel, during this Virus Pandemic we have going on. The guy tried to rent me a moving truck, oversized that I did not need. I was promised a pickup truck, mini or medium sized did not matter, even full sized, they had not one. It took a day and a half later, after my spending hours on the phone to get a truck, from Long Beach airport. The attitude of this first individual was sour. He seemed to be drunk. He said gas tank was full when in fact it was closer to 3/4. I took a picture of it. I rent trucks and cars at least once a month, sometimes three times a month, so this is routine for me, from other rental stores. I guess this means I stick with Enterprise and make sure never again to even attempt a rental with Avis/Budget rent a car. It will be something I speak to my clients about, and my Network of contractors. They had no problem taking my money, they sure had no desire to make my experience pleasant. I was actually credited one day at no cost That would have been great had I not had to waist my time trying to force a piece of furniture into a van after I requested and was promised a truck, that took them a day and a half to find for me. Even though I picked up a truck from Long Beach airport, I had to return it to where my trip started, in Montebello. When I took the truck back, the woman was rude, and had me feel as if I was bothering her. She seemed to be hungover. I will never go to Avis budget again, I'll pay someone to bring a truck to me before I ever go there to pay for bad sour service. read more

Worst experience EVER. Had to find other car rental for our trip an 1 before leaving because they didn't have car we reserved. They did try to substitute a mini van with a 15 passenger transit van. I've never driven one of those. the customer service lady was rude and insisted that they tried to contact us before even so why reserve a car that you don't have. HORRIBLE DEPLORABLE service 0 Stars (but you have to click on one to write review) Made my reservation over 2 weeks in advance. 3 days prior agent from Montebello Avis/ Budget rental calls to confirm our reservation. I specify to her that we made reservation well in advance because 7 of us are traveling together and need a Van. She states yes will have it ready for us. Day of departure we arrive to pick it up Kevin the 1 guy who works there states they don't have the van because the company failed to send it. However Kevin says he's waiting on a Pathfinder that also holds 7 people. We wait until closing time 2:00 pm it never arrived. (Because it was BS) I call Avis customer service to be told they can cancel my request and I can search for another vehicle on my own even with another competitor. Mind you bags ready packed to go it's 2 pm and I'm suppose to search for a vehicle when everyone else is usually closed already on a Saturday. Kevin could care less that we were stranded he just needed to set the alarm and leave for the day. Not even an apology. He locked up and left. We had to pursue other avenues via Costco Travel. That rep stayed on the line for one hour helping us get another vehicle. We had to travel 45 minutes away to get it. We lost 5 hours that day out of our vacation travel time. We strongly recommend you don't rent from this place no matter what price they quote you. You'll regret it. read more
