Be careful renting from here. Our experience was a nightmare & it nearly ruined our vacation. We rented through budget but it's the same location. The rental process was quick, but their quality checks need major improvement. They ensured us that the car was in good condition since it just had an oil change, although it turned out that they rented us an unsafe car with basically NO tread left on 2 tires...Unfortunately, we noticed in the middle of our road trip & had to scramble around for a solution on a holiday weekend because we might not even make it home safely. We're very lucky to have even made it to our destination without a tire blowout. Instead of offering a reasonable solution, a customer service rep told us to drive the unsafe vehicle to the nearest budget location (which they knew was 100+ miles away from us) or take a 3-4hr uber ride to get it swapped with another vehicle by ourselves. They also told us that we "might" have to pay for a towing service, which is truly ridiculous given that this is entirely their fault. After too much time spent on the phone & missing out on our vacation activities, we finally worked out a solution to get the tires replaced at a shop nearby & will be submitting a claim to have budget reimburse us. We appreciate that Tony was able to extend the rental timeframe for free as a courtesy, although that was the least of our concerns. We're disappointed that he couldn't assist us any further & overall we are very dissatisfied with budget/avis. It's safe to say that we won't be returning. read more

Disappointed in the service. I have used this location many times due to convince. What has happened is that I am never given the type of car that I request but am offered an "upgrade." My upgrade the last few times have been given in filthy and unsanitary condition in which I have to insist on a clean car. The cars are so visibly dirty that I am offended that Tony thinks it's acceptable for me to be offered an unsanitary car. Just this week the floor was covered with debris and the exterior obviously was driven on a dirt highway. What's so crazy is that the location is right next to a car wash. After seeing the car I have to go back and ask for another replacement and of course it looks not as clean. I won't rent from Tony again. Nasty service!!! read more

Will never rent from Avis again. I made a reservation a month and a half ago and waited nearly hour and a half for my car. They could not process my prepaid reservation because of an error on their system and they only way I could get a car was to pay for another rental at a higher rate. The manager was not helpful at all. There were at least 10 people waiting in line at 10 oclock at night because they did not have enough cars for all of our rentals and 1 agent. Next time I will pay the extra money with Hertz. read more

I'm giving this place 3 stars because of convenience. This location handles rentals for Budget and Avis. I rented through Costco Travel and picked up my car at Long Beach Airport. However, we needed to add on 2 more drivers and this location was the most convenient. This leads me to the next rating for this location. I'm giving this a 0 stars for the facilities because I needed to use the restroom and the guy behind the counter directed me to go through the back door which led to a small restroom in the back - no toilet paper and no seat covers!! I asked the worker who was sitting outside of there was any TP and he said no. How can employees who work go through the day using this restroom without TP??? Probably about the worse places I've ever rented a car from. Everything about the place is pretty inconvenient. For one, they're in a really weird location with all these auto body shops so there isn't that many parking spaces and you tend to get blocked on due to cars being parked randomly. Another thing is all their cars are located at another locations so they have to go grab your car while you wait. My reservation was at 10. I showed up before then and they told me my car wasn't there and that it was at the car wash so they have to pick it up. I waited almost 45 minutes before they pulled up in my car rental. The lady made some excuse about how when she first got there they just started on my car so we had to wait. No apology, no discount, no nothing. To make matters worse, had the nerve to tell me I had to drop off the car at 1030 when I got it closer to 1130. The gas wasn't full and the car was older and had sticky residue on the car from the stickers according to the worker. Besides that this joint is so old school the whole process of renting a car was slow. They're so old they still do paper contracts. Most places it's now digital and you initial on a keyboard and or the email you a copy of all the paper work. Nope not this place they give you a stack of paper work that you have to initial and sign and then you keep a stack for your records. Returned the car without any problems but I doubt I'll be coming back to this location to rent anymore cars. read more

I am giving them 3 stars because of 2 different experiences. The first time that I went here, it was terrible. The gal was nice but didnt know how to print the registration page out but figured it out as I was driving. Also the car was not a presidential upgrade, it was a nissan sentra... and it was dirty with old chips under my seat. I even sent them pictures to complain after because it was so bad and they couldn't even give me the kia optima since it was still dirty. The worst part was anytime I drove the car over 70MPH it would shake and a loud rumbling sound came from the front passenger side axle of the time. Its not the greatest sound to hear on the open road, especially since I was driving through Norcal in areas where no other Avis was near. When I turned the car in, a different gal took it in and was gossiping with the other gal who came from the garage in spanish the entire time I was there. they probably didn't realize that I understood what they were saying or they probably wouldn't have been so crude. But the second time I was there, the gal remembered me and put me in a very nice ford explorer. Again, the gal who checked me in was very nice and printed the paper for me without a problem. When I returned it there was no issue. read more

They try to get you to drive 11 miles away to try to get a car. WTF?! you have to demand they find a car closer like Norwalk, Santa Fe Springs. Then they do and never offer to bring the car TO YOU!! You have to find a way to get there! Budget puts accountability for their deficiency onto their "customer". Bad. Bad. Bad. See post on the Santa Fe Springs location. They add bogus over charges to your credit card when you return the filthy car they gave you and refuse to credit. Recently rented a new vehicle with Avis. Pleased with the quality of the rental the smoothness of the ride.The vehicle was equipped with the features that my family find accommodating. The location is in a good area although it is a lil corner spot in a very busy auto strip with very minimal parking. I fueled up the tank, washed and vacuumed the vehicle. Wanted to do a quick and easy drop of. Realized u need a lot of patience at this point I was parked and a women in a big suv parked and honks the horn. I have no clue what this lady is honking at. I had to move and drive around the busy parking lot,dodging all the chaos. In order to accommodate her since I guess she doesn't know where to drop off a rental. Worse car rental experience of my life. I fly every two months and I rent cars every two months. This place is simply appalling. The saying goes "Fish stinks at the head" and the owner Tony apparently never learned the first canon of customer service - politeness . I got a good rate through Costco for a one-day rental for an economy car. They were out of small cars so I was given a Jeep Patriot - it was pretty fun to drive that around and easy to maneuver. The customer service was great so I would come back, but there are a few things to note so things go as smoothly and quickly as possible. They are in a small plaza so they can't fit all their cars here. They may need to drive over to the location where they park some of their cars, so be sure to factor in extra time just in case that happens. When I returned the car the second time I rented from here, I had filled up the gas to more it was at when I got the car, but was still charged for gas. I asked about the charge and they said that the system automatically charges that when you don't drive over a certain threshold of miles (since it assumes you won't fill up the gas yourself for that). He took it off right away, so it was all good - just make sure to check before you leave so they can make that adjustment for you right away. read more

When I brought back the rented car both staff in the front where nice. Get the insurance on any rental car you get. I had an incident on the highway where an object hit the car. I had a reservation to pick up a rental car on a Sunday at 1:00 PM. I arrived early at approx. 12:45 PM. The employee on duty seemed surprised I was picking up a car and asked if I had just made the reservation. I informed her I made my reservation online the day prior. After she found my reservation on the computer, she told me the car she was going to give me had been returned the same morning and had not been cleaned yet. She asked me if I wanted to wait while another employee got the car washed OR I could take the car to get it washed (not the first review to mention this either). I opted to wait and after about 30 minutes the employee came back speeding into the driveway scraping the bottom of the front end (another red flag). At the time of my reservation, the employee asked if I would be returning the car "around the same time" on Friday (the Friday after Thanksgiving). My online reservation was set to return the car at 4:00 PM on 11/24/17. I confirmed I would return the car by 4 PM, just like my online confirmation said... (more on this later). Once I got the car, a Toyota Camry, no problems to note. I drove to and from Northern CA without any issues. The car got great gas mileage and the Bluetooth stereo was a nice feature. On Friday, I arrived at 3:45 PM, to find the location was closed and no one was inside. I called Budget customer service and they confirmed the location was supposed to be open until 4:00 PM. I am told I can return the car to the nearest airport or return the car the next day when the location is open. Not willing to drive to an airport the day after Thanksgiving, I opt to return it the next day. Customer service informs me that I will most likely be charged for the extra day by the location! The customer service rep assured me, if I called customer service again, they would refund the extra charge. Saturday morning, I come back to the location and luckily they are actually open when they are supposed to be. I tell the employee on duty about how I tried to return the car the day before and they were closed. She says, "Oh yeah we closed at 2 o'clock yesterday." I tell her how I spoke to customer service and they said I should not be charged for the extra day. She then says, "Oh I can't do anything about that" and proceeds to tell me that there is a note from the first employee that she advised me the location closed at 2:00 PM on Friday. I tell her that is incorrect and I was never told they closed before my confirmed reservation return time. She again told me there wasn't anything she can do about the extra charge. That's great. I'll take the matter up with corporate and never rent from this location again. read more

Have rented from this location 2x. Do not recommend!!! Would give 0 stars if possible. Was given a car with 3/4 tank of gas even though it was supposed to be full. Returned at same level and they claimed it was "just below" the 3/4 line (it was not, see photo). I contested it and associate Tony's attitude flipped on a dime. He became immediately hostile and threatened to charge me $9.99/ gallon to fill it up. He tried to order me out of the car so I couldn't go add gas myself and he could charge me their ridiculous rate. Talk about a scam! I added 1/2 a gallon to put the line 1mm over 3/4 to avoid the bogus charges. This is a total racket- Tony claimed they only give out cars completely full, yet they didn't do that in this case. They give it to you just below on purpose so you have to guess when to stop filling and usually go over, all so they get free gas from you. On top of that they are charging twice the going rate, or more, per gallon if they deem it not returned at the same level. These people are crooks, and Tony's hostile and threatening attitude was totally unwarranted and uncalled for. It seemed like an act between him and the assistant, and speaks to them pulling this crap on the regular. I rent cars often, was trying to give my business to someone more local to me, but never again with Avis. This is deplorable customer service/relations, and all over $2.32! I am going back to Enterprise. I have rented cars all over the country and have never gone wrong with Enterprise. read more

I had a rental to pick up on Sunday and I was running a little late , I called them at 1:54pm (knowing they close at 2pm) to let them know I would be there in several minutes. The representative was so incredibly rude saying "well we close at 2pm", then I said I will be there in several minutes. I arrive at 1:59pm and that lady left ! The whole Avis center was closed down! She shut the door on me knowing I was on my way! I am so beyond furious from the service I received here! Who does that ?!? She literally left shop before it was scheduled to close! Rented a car here for a weekend trip to Vegas. Had a coupon code from a company I worked for for a free weekend day, which saved me about $30. Picking up the car was easy and Yash was kind enough to give us an upgrade to an Altima. Nice and spacious for the two of us for a weekend. Will rent from here again! read more
