I normally don't leave reviews, but my recent experience with Avis was frustrating enough to speak up. When I picked up the rental car, it was clearly not cleaned--as shown in the attached photo of the cupholder, which had dirt, crumbs, and even a piece of trash left behind. On top of that, the car had a bad smell that made the ride uncomfortable from the start. To make matters worse, when I returned the vehicle, I was told the gas tank wasn't full, even though I had filled it completely just before drop-off. I was forced to drive back to the gas station, waste more time, and take a video of the pump clicking off to prove the tank wouldn't accept more fuel. Absolutely ridiculous. Between the poor cleanliness and the unnecessary hassle with the gas, this was one of the worst rental experiences I've had. I expected more from Avis. read more

I have been to this Avis twice and on both occasions they had no cars. The first time I had a reservation only to arrive and told they had no cars available. Thus I had to drive to Riverside and pick it up from another Avis. The second occasion I had rented a car from Avis at the Ontario Airport. About 30 minutes into my rental the cars started to smoke and the AC went completely out. I phoned Avis and was directed to go to the nearest Avis office. Upon arrival again I was told there were no cars available. Their advice was to drive an hour back in traffic to the Airport to exchange it. Go here at your own risk. The car is not always clean, sanitized or smelling great. It's a hit or miss! The SUV's are the best and usually brand new with very low miles. The midsize cars are a bit older. I love that they have a bigger selection of cars compared to other locations. They have the Tesla. Unfortunately the one I got smelled like smoke, no floor mats and not well maintained. I hate to say this but I blame the previous customers for the scratches etc. Tesla Model 3 short range: a full tank cost about $20 to charge total. Tesla superchargers take about 30min to fully charge. All electric cars you must return with 70% minimum. The charging cost comes out of the DEPOSIT. Honestly, I feel if you want Avis to carry good spotless cars then customers need to take responsibility as well my opinion. NO SMOKING (obviously), however if you choose to smoke in your rental please leave a couple of cherry car fresheners inside the car and leave windows open. The staff are accommodating when you come in at the right time. Like I said it's a hit or miss! They do have a drop-off window of 29 minutes max. There's an extra charge if it goes over. As a courtesy, I usually call in to let them know if I'm running late. It's a busy location since it's the only Avis in Corona. Avis in Chino barely has any cars. Enterprise rental also has a very small selection. There is a $12 charge to extend. The daily rates changes if you wait til the last minute. Extend right away if you can. All billing issues need to be addressed with the 1-800 customer service line. They will NOT resolve any billing issues over the counter. I can't stress enough to CYA!! When picking up, address any damages with the staff before driving off. Let them know! TAKE PICS of every single thing that looks like a scratch or dent (inside & out). If the car smells funky let them know before driving off the lot. It literally takes a minute to take pictures. When dropping off, fill up the tank (take a pic of the gas gauge, return it clean (inside at least) and drop it off on time. I definitely recommend!! read more

I was looking for a specific rental car which I know is frowned upon when looking for a rental, but we wanted to try it out. We drove around to the back and found the exact SUV we were looking to test drive. Walked in and the owner gave us a great deal and we rented it for a week. It had a windshield chip, but they were aware of it before we rented and marked it on the form. We were on our way and when I turned the car on, I noticed it was not a full tank as previously marked on the form, so I went back in and he changed it to half tank. After a week, I returned the car and he didn't believe that it was supposed to be returned at half tank, but luckily I had my paperwork and it was a non-issue. I get it, I feel they've been burned on gas before and they make more money if they can charge you $8/gallon when you don't fill it up. Anyways, would definitely rent here again. I don't normally leave negative reviews, but my experience with this location was so poor that I feel it's necessary to warn others. I rented a vehicle for a 7-8 day period, and from the moment I arrived, it was clear this place is unprofessional. As others have pointed out, the vehicle was filthy -- there was trash inside, and it had an unpleasant odor. On top of that, the car had over 50K miles on it. It was in terrible condition, as if I was renting from a budget, low-tier company like Advantage or Payless. When I requested a different vehicle, I was told they had nothing else available in the same size and class. There was no effort to help me, no offers to check nearby locations or even Ontario Airport and their off site lot which local Avis/Budget locations get vehicle from -- it was essentially a "take it or leave it" situation. There is no walk-around inspection with the car at pickup, so make sure to document everything with photos and videos. Trust me, they will find a way to claim you caused a scratch, chip, or any damage, no matter how minor. Also, be sure to fill the fuel tank yourself before returning the car, and keep the receipt as proof. Despite filling up the car at the Shell station across the street, I was told the tank wasn't full, and they tried to charge me for it. The owner, Sohaib, is a textbook example of dishonesty and poor business practices -- does not run this franchise location either business professionalism or integrity. He made promises when I rented the vehicle, but when issues arose, he conveniently claimed he had no control over anything and conveniently blamed the "system." I have rented from both the Riverside and Rancho Cucamonga locations, and this place is by far the worst. Do yourself a favor and avoid this location like the plague. If you're looking for a reliable, professional rental experience, drive to the Riverside Avis/Budget location. It's worth the extra effort! read more

Went there to rent a car one way from location to the airport. We were given a reservation and then the guy told us they don't have any cars to rent that are for a one way rental. Why would we even be given a reservation when this is going to happen?!? Then the people at Avis can't even complete a simple task like transfer me to a supervisor. How hard is that? The customer before me was getting the car through the back door which also indicate that the car has been inspected, washed, and cleaned. Hbbas was the representatives name that I had to deal with. Very unwelcoming, not a customer service friendly attitude at all. He actually tried to give me a dirty car that had not been cleaned or sanitized yet based on what was in the car and how it looked. He then made a comment and said "all you have to do is take it to the car wash" I had to immediately say, who should take it, I should? He then got defensive because he didn't like my response. After I said no let me get another car or speak to the manager. First of all, how do you not know if a car had been cleaned and ready. Second his response should have been, I'm sorry ma'am I'm not sure how that happened, let me get the keys to another vehicle that is ready. Period. That's it. But no he wants to debate and argue with me. There should be some type of system in place where communication lines would state a car was ready and cleaned. No excuses! When I got in another car he barely walked and is expected, checked the gas and walked off. No, thank you, no nothing. Clearly he was upset. When I returned the car he tried to make me fill out an incident report because of a small chip he saw in the window.That chip could have been there before I got the car as it was very microscopic. Chips happen on cars especially when driving on roads that are made of asphalt that break down and turn into rocks. This is why businesses have insurance. Recently just bought a car and unfortunately there was a mechanical issue I needed a rental quick, fast and super inexpensive due to just purchasing it. Sohaib answered all my questions was very patient with all the questions due to being my first rental and even allowed me to pay with two different options cc and debit most rental places only let you use a credit card so this is a big incentive. I discovered this location a little over a year ago. The owner of the location is always friendly, courteous, and ready to help. He works hard to handle all customers when he's the only staff member. Do not rent from here. I rented a vehicle through Costco travel and selected this location since my vehicle broke down and it was the closest one to Uber to from my location. I told the owner I did not want added coverage/ insurance. I saw the bill said 580 yet when I booked through Costco it said 320. I asked him why? He said it was a 200 deductible that would he returned once I returned the vehicle. I called the next day to verify while my contract was active. He said once again it was a deductible that it would go down 200 after I returned the truck. I ended up returning it a day early on Sunday instead of Monday the 23rd like I was supposed to. 24 hours earlier. Yet, my bill was still 478. No deductible refunded. No cost refunded for returning 24 hours early. I went in today to speak to the owner and he said I agree to added insurance and that he never said what he said. Avis has the absolute worst customer service people I have ever dealt with. I had a 22 mustang that my credit card stop paying because I thought it was fraud cuz the way that they were building me so they canceled it and they weren't paying for the car. So somebody which they won't tell me who told the car back to Avis and my personal property was in it a backpack including a laptop with credit cards somebody's using their credit cards. I don't know if it's the tow company or if it's an Avis representative. Nobody will give me any information or help me. Just barely happen two and a half weeks ago and I've been trying every single day to get some type of assistance and nobody will help me. This place is a joke I recommend going anywhere else!
