Despite of the hundreds of new coffee shops that opened over the years, Aviano coffee remains one of my favorites. From the open layout and the cute rows of lights that line the ceiling, to the quality of coffee you get here, Aviano set the bar in my coffee shop experience. When I first came here almost three years ago, I was almost overwhelmed with their coffee menu and asked the barista to explain what some of the coffees were. He was knowledgeable of the menu, and even explained the strength of the coffees as he was mentioning a rotating special on the menu. My friends and I picked out different coffees from the menu, and I got the cortado, which the barista states was the most popular coffee on their menu. We tried each other's coffees, all which were delicious, but I always found myself coming back to the cortado, which is one of the best I've tried, in my opinion. The downside of coming here is the parking situation-- located in Cherry Creek North, it is impossible to find convenient parking unless you park in a parking garage, and parking in this area is not cheap! Since my first trip to this day, I still recommend Aviano coffee to all my friends and students because of the quality and the time they spend to perfect each cup. read more

I've visited Aviano several times and they make a really good latte and a decent cup of coffee. The vibe is cool and the latte art is pretty. The patio vibes are strong in the spring and summer too which makes for great photos. It's basically a Yelper and Instagramer's dream. Their pastry case is usually full of tasty treats and I'm constantly tempted to indulge. In fact, I usually do. Their almond croissant is delicious. Flaky. Buttery. Heaven. This place is so close to a five-star experience but the staff isn't always the friendliest and although the interior is super sleek, the seating is not very comfortable. And I know it's not their fault but parking anywhere in Cherry Creek just kinda stinks. You know what though, I'll definitely be there a lot in the summer months sipping on an iced coffee or six. read more

It is such a bummer that the service is so bad here. I used to come here all the time, but I will not be coming here anymore. The atmosphere, vibe, and location are so great but in the service is just so horrible that it is not worth it. The barista's are genuinely just rude for no reason, do not smile, and seemed annoyed to be there. This experience is not a one off, it is the norm here, unfortunately. Also, the Wi-Fi is literally horrible that I always end up. Just using my hotspot on my phone. I do not recommend this place. After a late night in Denver my wife, bro in law and I were keen to tap into Denver's vibrant caffeine scene. With the aid of yelp we decided to try Aviano for quality and proximity. The setting is an industrial vibe that is quaint and inviting for conversation. The patio was packed but looked very enticing on a most delightful sunny day. We all three had lattes and they were exquisite. Mine was slightly cooler than I prefer but I savored the care with which it was made. One of the best spots for latte this place became our favorite. Not so many people and almost no line. They make the coffee right in front of your eyes. We actually got two lattes. I got the classic latte and my husband got the one with caramel. He initially wanted a caramel macchiato but the waiter advised that in case he wants something that tasted like the Starbucks caramel macchiato he could make the latte with caramel instead. I gotta day that it was a better decision. Do you wish you could hang out in an LA coffee shop? This spot will scratch that itch in Denver. I felt like I'd stepped into the Intelligentsia shop at Sunset Junction. It has similar decor and similar clientele. Luckily, it also serves good coffee. Oh, and cannelés de bordeaux, which I love. Brought my friend for our Coffee fix. As usual she opt for Cappuccino and a biscotti, while I opt to have Ice Mocha and a Chocolate Croissant. While we wait for our orders to be ready, we continue to make sure we have our conversations aka to catch up after all these years. Its good when you can find empty seats inside, coz it seems a lot of the patrons who happened to be inside this Coffee establishment tends to be working thru their Laptops or Tablets. Maybe its conducive for them working while sipping their coffee etc. They offer Patio seating. When we are there even in April 2015, the weather tends to be chilly outside, some patrons opt to have their Beverages outside. This Coffee establishment is indeed trendy and tends to be busy whenever we passed by at all hours. Overall, we do like the Décor and the Ambience. My friend like her Cappuccino though the Biscotti was too hard to even break, to her liking. Personally I liked my Ice Coffee and Chocolate Croissant. I loved this place when the original location opened years ago on 2nd. It quite literally introduced me to coffee. I had my first chemex there and I found out what actual coffee could be. The people that worked there were amazing as was the location and the coffee. Flash forward to today and they have two locations. I went to this one for a meeting the other day and man it has just turned into a snotty average coffee shop that serves expensive espresso and drip. It's looks nice. But that's about the end of the positives. I ordered a pour over and the guy at the register didn't even know what it was. He asked the barista who was just standing around doing nothing next to some other employee sitting on a stool eating a burrito, and she was like "I mean, we could do it I guess." Like it was just such a pain in the ass to make a coffee. Then she tells the guy to just give me a drip. He hands it to me and I asked why I wasn't getting a pour over and the barista says "it's basically the same thing, it's gonna taste the same." Ok but THATS NOT WHAT I ORDERED, is actually not true, and isn't your job to make people the coffee they want, not the coffee you want them to have??! They both just stood there staring at me like I was such an inconvenience... for ordering coffee... at a coffee shop with three employees doing nothing. Anyway, so much for this place. If you like espresso served by snotty hipsters then I guess it's for you. You may think I am biased because I live in the neighborhood but I swear to I'm not. I'm a relatively recent convert from a frilly watered down sweet latte to a quad espresso macchiato - hard core daily coffee drinker. Aviano to most might be a little snobby but trust me when I say the coffee and espresso is as smooth as can be. I am always greeted with a smile when I come to the front of the line and a truly get joy about being educated on a daily basis between a Starbucks macchiato and a real macchiato. I absolutely know the difference, however, I understand that most customers (especially the teenage ones) are probably expecting a Starbucks caramel macchiato and are likely disappointed if they receive a real macchiato. Thankfully they are starting to recognize me so I am being questioned less and less about my daily coffee order. Aviano goes against the grain a bit from an ordering perspective. You order your coffee and any sweet treats on the left and then make your way to the right to pay and pick up your coffee. Once you figure out the flow it makes for a very enjoyable experience. I almost always find locals camped out at a table with their coffee, a laptop and their headphones. It's a nice place to get some work done and people watch on a Sunday morning. On a nice day you will find the sizable patio full with neighbors and sleepy dogs soaking up vitamin D. I typically drink Starbucks, however, after having Aviano I know now why everyone says Starbucks coffee is bitter - it is bitter and now nothing compares to my morning cup from Aviano. I am really fortunate that I live in a neighborhood where I can walk to five coffee shops in less than 7 minutes. I guess that goes part of the way to explain my twice a day habit. You could call me an addict, but definitely don't call me an expert in the art of the brew. Aviano happens to be the closest coffee shop to my house, but I've only been here a few times. You see, I'm a coffee guzzler so it is a splurge for me to spend $4 for a latte or equally as much for a regular cuppa. Aviano takes coffee to a whole new level - they have a "Pour-Over and Brew Bar." The only bars I am familiar with serve Johnny Walker and they pour scotch over rocks. Aviano tries to explain their brewing methods and it goes something like this: "Hario Pour-Overs, Chemex, Kone, Eva Solo, Syphon and French Press." It gets even more confusing when you overhear the following from the barista: "on V60 today we're serving the Flecha Roja! We're also serving the El Cedral on Chemex and the Karatina Peaberry on Cafe Solo." I don't know about you, but I have no idea what the heck they are talking about. I won't Google any of that and I probably couldn't discern the difference in taste between the different methods, even if I were forced to do so. I just want a cup of smooth, strong coffee. And Aviano definitely delivers: great, smooth, strong coffee each time I've been here. All cups are made to order and are also ground fresh for each order; that is some serious dedication. And the results as I've already stated are absolutely delicious. All this coffee obsessiveness does come with a price however; no, not the $4 tariff, but in the time it takes to get your coffee. It takes FOREVER to get a cup of coffee here so if you need a quick cup for take away on your way to work, it is not going to happen. If you are hanging out and doing the coffeehouse thing, then that is not a problem. Patience grasshopper, you will be rewarded. Everyone in Denver complains about CCN (people, parking, prices) and yes Aviano is definitely a part of, and certainly of, this neighborhood. Most of us are not any more high maintenance than denizens of other Denver 'hoods, in fact we even know how to shower and shave. As for parking, well, why are you here in your car, hipster? Best coffee in Denver? We shall see about that! And I did and yeah, their coffee is pretty bad ass. I usually grab a regular coffee anytime I go out to a chain establishment but when I visit the local places like to get a specialty drink. I went in yesterday and they had a good crowd for a Tuesday afternoon, which makes me wonder, what do these people do for a living that allow them to hang out at coffeehouses during the work day (yet they could also be asking the same about me!) Across from me was a gorgy French man and next to me a dude with a fedora and a bowtie, I felt like I was in a movie. I order a cappuccino and it was absolute perfection. I didn't even want to drink it because that's how beautiful looked. The kicker is that I was in Aviano, Italy this past September and it rivaled some of the cappuccinos I had there so this place is legit. So why isn't this place five stars? Their so called wifi connection they have there. I specifically went for both a drink and to get some stuff done and couldn't get a decent connection. There are two locations... Detroit is most just outside sitting and St Paul is both outside and inside is a bit bigger so if you are looking for a place to chill then I recommend the St Paul location.
