Our experience with Ricardo as our wedding florist was nothing short of a nightmare. From the beginning, he was pushy and dismissive of my vision, often making arrogant comments like, "I'm the professional, I should know what I'm talking about." When I couldn't name a specific flower or didn't know it was difficult to work with, he'd act condescending instead of working with me to understand my style and preferences. We scheduled a sample appointment about a month before the wedding, expecting to see an actual arrangement. Instead, there was nothing prepared. When we asked about the sample, he gaslighted us, saying that was a separate appointment and that he would need to order flowers first. Trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, we set up another appointment. The day arrives and he calls to say he's running late because he's picking up the flowers, something that should have been done well before our meeting! When he finally sent us a photo, it wasn't a sample arrangement but simply the flowers thrown into a vase. When I asked if this was supposed to be the sample, he suddenly backtracked and said it was just to "show me the flowers." Mind you, this was weeks before my wedding!! At that point, I decided I wanted nothing to do with him on my big day, regardless of the thousands of dollars we were about to lose. We politely told him our expectations were not being met and requested a partial refund, which he agreed to. It has now been several months, and despite multiple attempts to follow up, he has completely ignored us. Thankfully, our wedding planner stepped in and recommended a wonderful florist who, from the first appointment, came prepared with vision boards and a true sample arrangements only a week after we booked with her. She even said our experience with Ricardo was definitely not normal and very concerning.
