I want to sincerely thank Archibald Flowers for an act of kindness that meant far more than they probably realize. Today I went to pick up a lei for a high school graduation. My girlfriend and her family are currently out of the country because their grandmother passed away this past Friday. The entire family had to leave suddenly, which meant her nephew, who was graduating today, and his 21 year old sister stayed behind alone. To make things even more emotional, their mother passed away from cancer three years ago. I volunteered to take him to his graduation so he would still have someone there supporting him on such an important day. When I arrived at Archibald Flowers, they were extremely busy because of graduation season. I gave them my friend's name, but they initially could not find the order. Eventually they located it and brought out a beautiful white lei. I placed it in the car, and just as I was about to leave, one of the employees came outside and explained they had accidentally given me the wrong one and that my friend had actually ordered the Bombay lei. I opened the trunk, and the employee kindly told me I could choose whichever one I preferred. I asked if there was a price difference, and at that moment, who I believe was the owner came outside. I told her I simply wanted whichever lei had originally been ordered. She then smiled and said, "You know what, for the confusion, just take both." I was honestly taken aback. I asked if she was sure, and she said yes. I thanked her deeply. What she did not know is how much this meant to this young man and his family during such a difficult and emotional time. When I later called my girlfriend to tell her what happened, she became emotional and said, "I think that was my sister sending a gift," referring to her late sister. To the beautiful salt and pepper haired woman who helped us today, thank you for your generosity and kindness. You may never fully know how meaningful your gesture was for this family. In a world where people are often rushed and distracted, your compassion stood out in such a powerful way. We will absolutely continue purchasing flowers from Archibald Flowers. ***Horrible Customer Service*** Please see the other reviews re bad customer service & wilting flowers!!! My boyfriend got me flowers for my birthday. The first day, I already noticed some of the flowers were wilting, facing downward, and had brown edges (see photos). Within 5 days, the water was already filthy, smelled and the flowers were done. For $160, I expected much better. I called today to complain, and the woman on the phone first blamed the vendor and said I needed to contact her sooner so she could contact the vendor because it could have been a bad batch of flowers. Then she proceeded to say that it wasn't a bad batch from the vendor, but from the water. She went on to blame the water, saying Rancho has bad water. It should be noted the flowers were kept inside in air conditioning. See photos with time stamps. Good customer service would have been to offer 10% or 20% off my next order and an apology. Instead, there was zero accountability and everyone else was to blame: the flower vendor, the water, and us the customers for not calling to complain sooner (seriously). No apology for sending flowers on day 1 that were already rotting/browning edges. If I was the owner I would not have let that bouquet leave my shop! She should have said that's not our standard, we apologize and would like to make it up to you, the customer. Save your money and go elsewhere! Shame on these owners for not acknowledging customer complaints and offering to rectify! It's clear from the 1 star reviews, this is a repetitive problem. read more

I have to admit that I've driven past this location hundreds of times since moving here two years ago. I hadn't had the occasion to need flowers before this visit, but the outside of the location is so bright and welcoming, that, when I needed a small arrangement of specific colors, I did stop in. The three ladies working behind the register were attentive, friendly, professional, and very good at listening to my request and making good suggestions. When I picked up the bouquet the next day, I was SO happy with their lovely work! I have to admit, I have used FTD.com, ProFlowers.com, and 1800 FLOWERS.com before, and, with one amazing exception, every single time it was a nightmare, right down to a funeral arrangement that got delivered to the wrong church, during some other poor family's services. (That was ProFlowers, in case you're wondering.) Now that I know how easy it is to go to this local business, owned by members of our own community, THIS will be my go-to. Wow, the lady on the phone just now lacked customer service and was extremely short and rude. It is my first time ever calling just to inquire about prom flowers and she didn't even answer in a polite voice. She was so rude and then rude to her employee in the background because the phone was ringing and didn't even ask if they could please pick up the phone but was ordering the other person to pick up the phone and was talking to me at the same time. I feel like I couldn't even ask questions because she was speaking to me like I should know already and like I'm stupid. That's not the way to handle a phone conversation with somebody who's calling in for the first time. If you're not having a good day, maybe you shouldn't answer the phone. I didn't understand and I asked for clarification and she raised her voice in a very direct manner instead of being patient and explaining as a first time ever calling in to inquire. Flowers are great. A little expensive but are very nice. They have a cat in the front lobby. I asked if it was ok to pet and one lady said yes. It started to follow me and rubbed on me like good cats do. I petted It then it jumped up and bit and scratched me. Drew blood. When I told the ladies behind the counter they said "oh she does that" one lady asked if I need a bandage and apologized which I appreciate. I didn't care for the older ladies attitudes. Found this place, thinking that I would save money on delivery fees because the recipient was very close. Unfortunately, Archibald flowers charges a delivery fee, regardless of distance. So, I was a little bit bummed about that. I spoke with the florist on the phone and was asked my budget. I kind of looked online, but didn't really have a clear picture of what the flower arrangement would look like. I really had to trust the florist. She sounded so sure of what my needs were and asked me a couple of questions just to make sure that she had an understanding of what I was envisioning. A couple of hours later, I received a picture of the bouquet that was delivered. It was stunning!! Once I saw the quality of that arrangement, my hang ups about delivery fee, and not knowing what the arrangement would look like, were immediately gone. We frequently order large arrangements for holidays and special occasions and always give them creative freedom to do what ever they want with just a nudge to the theme. Walked into the shop around 9:30 AM and was surprised to find it empty, yet still received little to no acknowledgment from the two older ladies working there. I tried to ask a question, but they barely looked up or responded. Eventually, a younger employee came over and helped me -- thankfully, she was polite and more approachable. I had called the day before and was told white leis were $65 each. When I came in to pick up two, the price was suddenly bumped to $75 each with no clear explanation. While the leis themselves looked nice, the change in price and the dismissive attitude from the older staff left a bad impression. I guess the twins are getting $75 money leis, but this experience makes me think twice about returning. read more

I did try one florist that was slightly closer to my home in Claremont but was immediately told that there "centerpieces" started at $55. We were in desperate need of Hawaiian Leis for my uncles burial at sea. We came in with very short notice. The girls there had AMAZING customer service and were extremely helpful. They ordered our leis that day and for a very reasonable price. When I went to pick up the leis, they were absolutely breathtaking. I wanted to buy nice flowers for my mom's 57th birthday and was referred to this flower shop by a co-worker. When I walked in I was immediately welcomed and greeted with a warm smile. This was my first time in a REAL flower shop; as I usually go to the grocery store. Suzie was such a huge help! She walked me to the refrigerator and showed me a really cute arrangement of flowers that I absolutely loved! Her customer service was superb! I don't expect great customer service anymore these days but she was excellent! She is truly an asset to that flower shop and I hope she never leaves! I really hate to write this review. I went into the store to try to rectify this but the florist who made it stood by her work and the price. I understand sometimes flower shops don't have exactly the flowers for the arrangements that you order from their own website. This was not along the lines of what I ordered though. I ordered what I thought was a gorgeous, unique, and whimsical arrangement online (directly from their site) for my mother's 75th birthday. My mom sent me a picture thanking me and I was shocked. It looks like a regular dozen roses arrangement. If I had ordered a regular arrangement for 80-100 bucks I would be fine with the arrangement. That was NOT what I paid though. There wasn't any uniqueness with what was delivered to her. Even the way the flowers are cut and arranged doesn't look great. I used this florist instead of my usual because my Mom has always spoken highly of them over the years. I purposefully did not order through a 1800flowers or similar service because I wanted something unique from the florist shop directly. My advice, go in to the shop directly and speak with them about the look you are wanting. I've attached what I ordered vs what was delivered. The only thing similar are the color of the roses. The florist said she added four roses but I really didn't care about the extra roses, I really wanted a whimsical arrangement. read more
