This is a tough review because I feel I could be unfairly giving Ava's a low rating. With that being said.... my mother passed away July 31, 2025. My employer sent flowers to my home, which was a very nice gesture. However, when I opened the pkg, I was a little thrown off because I've never known someone to receive a dozen roses and a box of chocolate covered strawberries as a "condolence." But, here we were. The outside of the box said, keep refrigerated, but the box was warm. The roses looked a little worse for wear, and the strawberries were a COMPLETE mess. The strawberries were mushy and the chocolate was completely melted. It was a disgusting mess. I let my boss know because it's not cheap to send flowers...and chocolate covered strawberries! I tried to call the place listed on the label. It said it was Ava's flowers, but I couldn't get anywhere. So I just left it up to my employer to deal with. About five or six weeks later, I received another pkg. This time it came from another popular flower company. This was a more appropriate gift....an orchid. Of course it was a replacement from my employer. It was beautiful and in perfect condition. I found out later that my employer initially ordered a plant. Stay far far away. Avas Flowers is not a florist. They are a front end for FTD that contracts with other local florists and floral designers for fulfillment. I ordered my girlfriend 2 dozen roses to be delivered next day 07/30. She did receive the flowers however it was only 1 dozen and I was charged for 2. The receipt on the order shows "One Dozen Roses - 24 Stems" which doesn't even make any sense. 24 stems means 24 roses, 2 dozen. Then I received an email at 3PM on 07/30, after the flowers were delivered, stating that my original order could not be fulfilled and that they were automatically going to send a new order for delivery 07/31. So aside from the fact that they only had one dozen roses delivered even though I paid for 2 dozen they also charged me a second time for the second order on 07/31 which I did not authorize. Now if they couldn't fulfill the original order for whatever reason, why would issue a second charge? This also seems like a pretty common issue with them. If you go to their customer service page one of the issues you can select is "I was charged twice for my order". So I was charged $178.66 twice for 1 dozen roses. Also forget about contacting their customer service. Trying to reach anyone at all has been the most frustrating and painful experience Ive had dealing with customer service of any kind. Once I would eventually get someone on the phone we would get disconnected and I would have to go through the painful process of trying to reach someone again. I will say that I am thankful that the actual floral designer that was fulfilling the order (Safeway lol) reached out to me directly because they were also confused by the second order they already fulfilled the day prior. They are sending out another dozen roses free of charge. Update: After spending 2 and a half hours trying to reach someone at Ava's flowers I finally got ahold of someone. They stated on their end they could not see the second charge and recommend I contact my bank. Save yourself the headache and avoid this service as much as humanly possible. read more

Messaged my friend this morning to congratulate her and confirm she received them and nothing was delivered. Have been trying to get in contact with someone for the past 4 hours and nothing. Just automated messaged and "call back requests." My phone doesn't accept calls from robots so every time their bots have tried to call back, it goes to my voice mail. I was assured that the flowers would be delivered to a funeral home in Newport Beach, California, on Sunday, July 5, at 11:30 a.m. Approximately two hours before the scheduled delivery, I received a text message stating that it was urgent for me to call them. I immediately did so--at least ten times--because it was extremely important that the flowers be delivered in time for my client's funeral service. No one ever answered the phone. No one returned my calls. No one even had the courtesy to notify me that they would not be making the delivery. The flowers were never delivered. They took my money and simply disappeared. On Monday, July 6, I repeatedly tried to contact their customer support department to file a complaint and request a refund. Once again, no one answered. No one offered any assistance. The only department that seems to answer the phone is the sales department. There appears to be no customer support whatsoever. I have disputed the charge with my American Express card, but that does not undo the emotional distress and embarrassment this company caused me on a day when it truly mattered. Failing to deliver flowers for a funeral without any communication is completely unacceptable. I will never do business with this company again, and I strongly caution others against using their services. Unbelievable!! I called to ask for a refund because I got an arrangement that was 1/2 the size and with cheap flower substitutions (carnations galore!). I called and requested a refund, they wanted to give me 50% back. I told them I'd just call AMEX and have the charge reversed, or I would give them a chance to make it right.
