Overall we're extremely unimpressed. Our cashier had an attitude problem from the moment we ordered. We were treated as if we were a burden although it was only 6 pm. Our order came out wrong twice, they gave us random sandwiches we didn't order, they didn't give us food that we did order. Everything is an upcharge and if you pay with card they charge you an additional 4%. Nothing was fresh or consistent. Food taste like frozen items you buy from the grocery store. They turned off their menu at 6:15 and turned people away from ordering food because the cook had friends dining in area who he would rather eat and hang out with rather than work. We enjoyed their pastries, but their omelette and panini had us wanting. Their Bear Claw was one of the tastier ones I've had, I would go back for one of those. Their strawberry cream cheese danish was good too. My husband got the cannoli and liked it. I got the breakfast panini and it was ok. It didn't have much on it, when I opened it up, it had very few ingredients. My husband was dissatisfied in the meat lovers omelette. On the menu, it says onions and peppers; which = salsa on top, so it didn't have those things in it. We won't be back for their hot meals, but I would get their pastries! read more

Baked goods seemed good but the rest was not great. Ordered a breakfast meal and eggs were overcooked and it was supposed to come with hash browns. When I asked about the hash browns, I was told it did not come with them because I got toast. This was clearly not the way the menu read (see photo). We have used Avenue Bakery on Main Street in American Fork for pastries and finally decided to try breakfast there. As we entered through the East door we were greeted with a vast display of delicious looking breads and pastries! The general decor is simple and functional. There are two indoor areas for eating and a few outdoor tables. This month's decorations reflected a fun Halloween theme. The menu is posted over the counter and has a good selection. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy with a side order of two scrambled eggs. The food was served quickly and hot. Wow! Is my best adjective for this meal. Unlike biscuits served in most restaurants where they are hard and often crumble into a mess, these biscuits were moist and tasty! They remained soft and tasty from start to finish. I would like to have their recipe for the gravy, it's the best I've ever tasted! My wife got the Berries and Cream Crepes. The large crepe was folded into quarters. It was chock full of a good blend of raspberries, wild blueberries and strawberries and custard. There was a generous portion of whipped cream on the side. The crepes themselves were average. We really have had a great experience at Avenue Bakery. The first time I visited I stumbled across it while driving back from an appointment in AF and was pleasantly surprised. Upon entry the place looked old. The baked goods packaged for sale up front "looked" good. We decided to get the baked goods from the case. The eclair has no flavor, filled donuts are inedible...and they aren't all the same size, but same price. The muffin tops are dry, not exciting. We ordered lunch (before we tried any pastries) despite my thinking we should leave. Went into the seating area....the floors and tables were all dirty. Our food came out, my sandwich (they were out of avocado) was dry and boring. The turkey tasted old. I asked for refund and they were snarky. My husband enjoyed his burger and fries. A guy was waiting to order, they closed the grill before they asked anybody in line already if they were ordering. The lady was rude when he showed minor frustration. I also saw the avocado on his sandwich they told me they were out of. I can't recommend this place. The desserts look way better than they are and the atmosphere is awful. Really tasty with a variety of options. We really liked the bakery items. The sourdough pancakes are very sour but in a delicious way if you like sourdough. The avocado toast was okay, but the eggs were extra. It was really good with a runny egg and bacon on top. Everyone was extremely kind and helpful, especially with our small child. My experience with the bakery is simply that a coworker brought these in one morning for everyone and they were amazing! I'd like to come here for lunch someday, but seriously I've never described a doughnut as voluptuous ever before, but these definitely are. Even the classic glazed were one step above the rest. As of this point in my life I don't think any other doughnut has compared. The bites melt in your mouth, but the fresh taste is unbeatable, it's not heavy, but not light, somewhere perfectly in between. Everyone was just raving that everyone else needed to try the one they had. I cannot day enough good things. If you're in the area I'd 110% suggest making the stop. Such a cute bakery! The remodel left the inside looking nice and inviting. We took my aunt to breakfast here for her birthday. I ordered the cannoli crepe (filled with cannoli cream and topped with cannoli pieces -- so good!). My husband ordered the French toast which was also great. The omelette my aunt ordered was pretty good. I didn't love it, but I'm not a huge omelette fan. The prices were great!!! I've been to many breakfast places that are grossly overpriced, but Avenue Bakery was not one of them. My crepe was only $6, and a cup of coffee is only $1.50! It's not dirt cheap, but it's also not expensive. We didn't order any pastries, donuts, or cakes, but they also looked pretty good and well-priced. I'm excited to try more! read more

Drove by this place this weekend and stopped in hoping for some cheesecake. No cheese cake but they have an abundance of donuts, muffins and pastries. I got my kids some gelato--it's really pricey! And maybe I was annoyed coz the young girl that served us gave us a really conservative serving and then went on break. As she did, the guy that subbed in for her served the couple behind us in line and piled their gelato scoops!! We got maybe half of what they did. We're just not the type of people to complain and so just let it be but there's clearly something to be said for serving size and consistency! The chocolate dome was stale, the donut we tried tasty, but a little oily. The place is spacious, clean and has a good variety. It is literally 12:30 and they weren't serving the soup because "they're still cleaning up from breakfast" you mean the soup that is likely already made and no one heated up? They're lunch menus weren't up (at 12:15 pm) because they were still cleaning up from breakfast. Half the tables were gross and uncleaned. The line got to the door before someone else started taking orders. It's unfortunate she was so awful, cause the food is pretty good. Have been here before but this was my first-time trying breakfast. It so did not disappoint. Loved every bite of my eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes and toast meal. Eggs and bacon were cooked exactly as ordered and oh man, those breakfast potatoes were out of this world! This place is busy but still I found the service efficient and friendly. The restaurant "vibe" is inviting with tables available on a fcfs basis. It's a popular go to on a Saturday morning so get there early as parking can be challenging. My wife has a gluten allergy and we go here all the time to get baked goods. On our latest trip we picked up several types of baked goods. On this trip they had 2 types of muffin tops, some snickerdoodle cookies, assorted cupcakes, and some creme puffs. The muffin tops are moist and very tasty. The snickerdoodle cookies are soft and moist. The cupcakes are good as well but I always find that most cupcakes have too much frosting for me. The cream puffs are super yummy snd have lots of filling. Also if you want gluten-free rolls they have those too. You may have to call in and pre order them. We do this each year around the holidays. The rolls are one of the better gluten free rolls out there as they are similar to regular dinner rolls. Ok I know this review has been all about the gluten free side, however I would like to say the regular baked goods are delicious as well. I've picked up an Oreo cupcake, frozen roll dough, dinner rolls, various sliced breads, assorted doughnuts, danishes, and cookies. There are other cupcakes to choose from but I always seem to go Oreo. I only had pictures of the gluten-free items for this review but if I go here again, which I definitely will, I'll be sure to snap a few more pictures. read more

I've been meaning to want to try this place for a while, after recently coming here and driving by it all the time. It's quite spacious inside, with one side for buying pre-packaged breads and pastries and the other for waiting in line to purchase individual items behind the counter or order for dine-in. I got the blueberry muffin top and classic glazed donut. Both were really good! The dough of the donut was really soft, and I liked how it wasn't too greasy or overly sweet either. I love the concept of the muffin tops, as we all know that's the best part :). The blueberry one was great, and I especially liked the crispier parts of the muffin. I've been wanting to try this place for a while, and I'm glad I finally got the chance. We had the Turkey Bacon Avocado sandwich and the Avenue cheesesteak. IMO the TBA had too much turkey, and the bacon was hard, but other than that it was a good sandwich. The Cheesesteak was really good. Overall, good flavors and portions were a good size. First time here. Ordered the turkey bacon avocado sandwich for myself and a kids grilled cheese for my son. My sandwich was pretty tasty. Thick slices of turkey, thick crispy bacon, plenty of mayo, honey mustard, and guacamole, but the bread was dry. It felt like they were overcompensating for the dry bread with all the spreads, which made it quite messy to eat. We asked for napkins and never got any. Price is good for the size of sandwich you get. It also came with a small bag of Lays potato chips. I was asked if I wanted any drinks when I ordered and I said, "Just the kids drink." (I had my own water bottle.) The menu says that kids meals come with a drink and bag of chips, but I was charged for a fountain drink on my receipt. (Didn't notice until after I got home.) They even forgot to give me the cup before we sat down, so I had to go back and ask for it. Customer service could definitely be better. Was there at 11:30am and there was only one other person in line behind me at the time. We also tried a sugar cookie. The cookie itself is nice, but the frosting tasted more like it was made with shortening instead of a true buttercream. Scraped most of it off. Had an appointment in AF and saw this place driving by. Building has a striking look and sits on right on the corner. Parking is shared with an auto retailer but there's plenty of it. Walking in the place is clean with seating on one half and baked good on the other. They have a large selection of breads, cookies, and even gluten free stuff. The counter is full of delicious looking pastries that I really wish I'd tried or gotten at least a picture. I decided to try the Mother Clucker (sucker for a good pun). Its more than just your everyday chicken sandwich. A good sized piece of friend chicken breast with a chipotle aioli with a little drizzle of honey. The sweet and slight spice really work well with each other. The bread is fresh and just the right amount of crunch. Normally the sandwiches are served with chips but you can upgrade your side. I went with the sweet potato fries. They had good crunch with a soft inside but could use just a little more flavoring. I was so satisfied with the sandwich I decided to grab a loaf of the Asiago bread to go. Next time I'm coming I'm getting a donut or one of the pastries in the case. read more

Even though I was probably one of four or five people in the bakery at the time. It took over half an hour to get my food out. still, it was hot and very tasty. Also, I was a bit disappointed in their pastry I had an éclair and a strawberry mousse. The éclair tasted top tier but the shell was soggy from the pastry cream filling. Then the strawberry mousse had weird graininess to it and was way too sweet. But the restaurant was set up nicely and had a very welcoming vibe to it.
