I wasn't there to do a long session, so I got a couple tasters, one including Peche Mortal and the other a NEIPA. Two very different styles and both extremely well done. Beyond that, the space had a very old-fashioned look. Really nice wooden fixtures and a very warm, welcoming vibe. The server was also attentive and friendly, but also knew when to let people sit back and enjoy their drinks. You probably don't need me to tell you, but yes, you should go.

Last night we biked out to Espace Public in Hochelaga, near Antidote and Acme, and a raft of other old school tavernes that range from divey to scary. Espace Public is neither. It's got a tiny patio out front on Ontario and then about 30 seats indoors. It's dark, warm and woody like most brew pubs, with a chalkboard menu showcasing a couple of delicious in house beers and a couple other local brew selections and some small tasteful tasty snacks. The hoppy sour wasn't my favourite but the raspberry sour was really great, and the list in general was well-balanced when I was there - cool sours, classics IPAs, stouts, a blonde - really something for everyone. Super friendly cool staff, chill local crowd, slightly punk vibe making the brew pub less folksy and twee, less hipster and more appropriate to the surroundings. Really dug it and loved exploring this area a bit more in the light of the setting sun, with the end of summer in the air.

B said the beer was pretty good. He said it was not too hoppy and yes it was definitely better than most craft brewery from BC (where we are from). He was impressed. He said he would go back for sure. Big $6 pints of delicious Porter, English Brown ale, IPAAA and the guest star bottle of British micro-brew Jaipur was a treat, and, according to my more beer savvy companion, not found elsewhere in town. The tostada nachos came out quick and hit the spot but were just the basic cheese, olive pile you'd expect with a small side bowl of sour cream, salsa and a few peppers. Nothing to write home about but a satisfying snack to accompany some excellent beers in a chill, business and young-person friendly room.
