After visiting a few other places, I decided the quality of the work was worth the price increase. The Nail Techs There are a few new employees at this location that I haven't worked with yet. However, the three that I have are amazing. They have excellent attention to detail and strive to give you the shape, color, and style you want. Stephanie, for example, is great at color matching. She has an eye for it, and I love getting a bubble gum color dip from her. Stephanie is friendly and loved by all her customers. She has one of those personalities that get along with many, and you can't help but love her for it. She books up fast, as do most. Kieu is the owner and has an incredible memory. You can expect to be imminently greeted by her when you walk in, and if you have visited the salon before, she'll even greet you by name. It always makes me feel like we are lifelong friends. I have been going to this salon for about two years now, and I have not always had a positive experience. However, there has never been a complaint she has not addressed and attempted to fix. This is one of the many reasons I keep coming back. Most salons will do good work, but how they respond to unsatisfied customers keeps them long-term. Kieu strives to do right by her customers and trains her staff to provide the highest level of service, which you can tell by everyone's quality of work. Her clients have been going to her for decades, and although she looks VERY young, she is a strong, talented business owner. Ashley is the most recent stylist I have been visiting. I love how she checks in with me by painting one toe or nail first to make the selected color I want and doesn't hesitate to switch if I ask. She has incredibly strong hands, so her massages are heavenly. She jokes with me about adjustments I ask her to make but doesn't hesitate to do them. I feel comfortable getting my nails done with her and experimenting. Sometimes the experiments don't go as expected, and she is willing to adjust for me. Her laid-back, friendly personality is contagious, and her quality of work matches. I have to confess, I really like my nail tech here and don't want to risk losing her to someone else. So, as much as I'd love to share the secret of this amazing salon with everyone, I'm mostly kidding when I say don't book with her. You're more than welcome to book after me, but be warned - you might fall in love with her too!" In the past, I used to struggle with speaking up to nail techs if I wasn't completely satisfied with the color or shape of my nails. It made me feel uncomfortable and discouraged me from returning to those salons. However, I appreciate that this salon is different - they're very accommodating, but that doesn't mean they'll tolerate unreasonable demands. It's important that we communicate with kindness and respect. Kindness is vital here! The place is always very clean, and if you need a new nail tech, I recommend you try this salon. They only use gel top coat. I do not want to use lights of any kind, it gets too hot for me. My biggest issue was I went to pay and she charged me $83.00!!! When I questioned Kathy, she advised me that she charged me an extra $15 to remove the dip I had on. I told her they are overpriced and would not come back. She would have had a loyal customer every two weeks. I went to another local salon for 6 years, until my girl moved out of state. I guess I got spoiled.

Unfortunately, my pedicure experience was very disappointing. I was at the salon for over two hours, had the pedicure first, followed by the gel manicure, and was sent home. When I later looked at my toes, the polish was clearly not fully dry and completely smudged (see photo). These were supposed to be my wedding toenails. I returned to the salon this evening, as I am flying out today for my wedding, to request a voucher for a polish change when I return after the wedding. I explained that I could not have it fixed immediately because flying, socks, and closed shoes would ruin the polish again. The manager refused, stating I had to come back within one week for it to be fixed--despite the issue being caused by being sent home with wet polish. I return three days after their one-week policy, and there was no flexibility or customer service offered. I was told the best they could do was $5 off a future pedicure, which completely missed the point. I'm now forced to pay twice--once for this ruined pedicure and again in New York before my wedding. I regularly spend over $100 per manicure and pedicure and tip generously, and I was very surprised by the lack of professionalism and resolution. While the technicians were excellent, the management's handling of this situation was extremely disappointing. I truly wish this had been handled differently.

Right after I received the cancellation my mother asked if i wanted to join her for a pedicure while home so my toes were saved! My mom recently started coming to Ultimate Nails and said she really liked the services and the super friendly nail technicians. We were greeted with big smiles and I was shown an extensive menu of pedicure options. I went with the most expensive options because my feet needed as much care as possible after a brutal Chicago winter. At $75 it was definitely more than I spend on pedicures back home, but I was really happy with the results and can see why my mother is such a fan of Ultimate Nails. My toes looked pretty in flip flops for vacation and will feel good hidden in my boots for the rest of winter now that I"m back home.

I booked an appointment, and came in to get my nails done in the afternoon. I had a reference…read morephoto, and for about an hour and a half I sat and the senile old lady. I thought I was doing my nails totally butchered them. They were poorly painted, extremely uneven, she used half of a sticker. when it was time to pay, I argued with the manager for 15 minutes. She knew that the job was done terribly, and I continuously tried to schedule an appointment for the next day to get them fixed. She just kept trying to get me to pay for this job that was done incorrectly. So i ask her to remove the nails. She continues to argue with me and when she finally cuts them off, she cuts them with nail clippers and then leaves to do something else. So I walk out either awfully done, jagged nails. I was basically begging for them to let me come in the following day and for them to correct the job and I was gonna pay for it, but apparently I can't continue to go to salon. I called ahead to book an…read moreappointment with Brenda, but it was a really busy day and I ended up waiting about 30 minutes after picking my color. Brenda did an okay job. I could tell she was pretty tired, but she was still kind with me when I changed my color and even brought me a coffee which I appreciated. The decor was girly and interesting. Salon was very clean and hygienic. So, the overall the experience was fine, but I don't think I'll be going back. Also, I know inflation is real... but $17-$18 for gel paint is a lot to be honest.
