I always like BB and Andy. Mimi is also back but I went in today and there were too very young techs. During pedicure my gel was dropped off and I was cut and drilled so thin it went from the nail to the skin. Then oil was put on top of regular polish and waved and bubbled and clear was put over it then another coat of polish and clear and the clear had red on the brush. had to repair the tear in nail... Was lumpy and bumpy. I asked for it to be removed and still was charged $35 for pedi which the cuticle area was still not clean. the female and make tech were very young and clearly inexperienced. Just don't if you're seated with either. I won't be returning. I used to go here often but no apology when I talked to management or compensation for the mess and 90 minutes of my time. Went in there for the first time with my fiancé and had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience. Pointed to EXACTLY what I wanted on the pamphlet and said what I wanted. After my pedicure was done, found out they couldn't do the designs on my nails because they only had one woman who could do designs and she was busy and he said we couldn't wait. So he offered to do them, I figured sure, why not? The design was just 2 basic lines. He didn't use the colour I wanted. The lines looked like a messy blob. I ended up just having him repaint the toe and leaving it blank. Then my fiancé paid and it was $60! According to what I pointed and looked at on the pamphlet it should have cost $42. I tried arguing it with him and he said what I pointed at were manicures when I said I wanted a pedicure. The top of the pamphlet says MANICURES AND PEDICURES. And the descriptions of the options didn't say manicures or pedicures. But apparently, the pedicures were on a TOTALLY different page completely away from anything that says manicure or pedicure... In fact, they were listed under "fills". Like wtf?! So he refused to refund. So my nails are cut uneven, not at all what I wanted, and look like shit. Not to mention, the guy was absolutely rude as shit, kept giving us nasty looks, and making nasty comments in his language. All I wanted to do was spoil my fiancé and I with a gift card I got... They're under new management as of a few months ago and this place is the BOMB now. Mimi does the best acrylics I've EVER gotten and I'm super picky. They actually stay on & im a hair dresser so usually the water and constantly using my hands takes a huge toll on my nails. Mimi's mom works there as well, can't think of her name but she gives the best pedicure I've ever had. Love love love this place. Go try, you won't be disappointed! Every time I have been here the people have always been super nice and very professional. Vin who did my pedicure was super gentle and made great conversation. Everyone here is amazing you ask for something that you want they give there all. Do not waste your time or money. This was quite possibly the worst manicure I have ever had. The tech left smears from my old polish all over my skin, which I did not see until I was leaving. She cut my skin while trimming my cuticles and never even apologized. Lastly she came over to tell me my nails were dry, ran her finger over my nail and smeared it and never even offered to fix it. read more

I decided to try this place out, because I was going to Lee nail and they were taking about 3 hours every visit for a nail dip, pedi, and eyebrow wax. I believe there's only one male nail tech at Avalon and he did my mani. He repeatedly asked me to calm down, but I was pretty tense about using a nail grinder on my natural nails because they're thin. I let him know and his response was that he would take care of my nails. I don't know enough about doing nails to recognize if he damaged my nails with this method, but there were a couple other things that affected my choice for the poor rating. Although he was great with filing and shaping the dipped nails with the grinder, he neglected to remove glue from my skin, didn't do my cuticles, and when he saw a small hair in my mani, instead of removing it, he used the nail polish brush to push it toward the French nail line and cured it. I know I could've said something, but what I observed is that this particular nail tech will only take care of your nails in areas that he wants. If you try Avalon, I recommend requesting a different nail tech the first visit. read more

I work in the area and wanted to give this place a try. Well... I will not be returning. The staff was dry and unprofessional. The space is cramped up. That being said... I called yesterday and scheduled an appointment at 1 for a full set. I arrived a few minutes early to choose a color and hopefully become acquainted with an alternate nail tech. Well... I waited for 10 minutes and asked how much longer the wait would be... I was then told 10-20 mins... How Sway?! When I called and scheduled an appointment. The staff wasn't the least bit friendly and the guy who did my nails set up his phone and watched some kind of Asian program with the sound up and would stop to watch it every so often. That noise coupled with the sound of Law and Order playing on their televisions made for anything but a relaxing environment. My manicure has a few imperfections down near my cuticles but I didn't even bother to say anything, I'm just never going back. read more

I walked in and was greeted by BeBe. Her nails were done! They looked awesome. She did and amazing job on my pedicure. They won me over with the manicure. I told her the same thing I told the two previous nail salons-I don't want bulky nails. She listened! She executed flawlessly. The filing job was very poor - the technician clearly doesn't work with natural nails much and she filed my nails as though they were acrylic. Just had the worst customer service experience ever! My 12 year old was getting her nails done and wanted a design. A really nice gentlemen did her nails and passed her onto a woman for the design. What my daughter wanted got confused between her telling the gentleman and him explaining it to the woman. Halfway through the design on the first hand my daughter realized it wasn't what she wanted and called me over to tell me. I explained it to the woman and what came next was HIGHLY uncalled for. Instead of just taking it off she yelled at me and my 12 year old saying why didn't she say that at first. I asked the lady to calm down and said she's only only 12. She proceeds to push back her chair and walk away yelling back at me the entire time. Please keep in mind I had already paid for my daughters nails and tipped the gentleman $10 and was prepared to tip the tech that did the design. Someone else ended up completing the design. While we were there my phone rang and I retold the story on the phone. Both ladies decide to insert themselves into my conversation. Starting a yelling match between myself and now two of the nail technicians. I honestly don't think asking to have one nail redone was cause for all this ruckus. read more

This place gives great pedicures. They have improved the dark dusty appearance of the salon with a fresh coat of paint and colorful wall decor. They have comfortable chairs and do a good job with foot massages unlike most if not all of the other nail salons in the county. I've been going here for a couple years and I've only been unhappy once with the service. That employee has since been let go. Ever since, things have been fine. read more

I have never been to a nail salon where I had to call the Police!!! The POLICE!!! I came in asked for SNS Lee said Oh yea I can do that! After cutting all my nails off trying to take my acrylic off he said oh you should just get gel, I stated I wanted SNS. I wish I could post a sign out in front of this salon warning potential, unaware patrons of the poor customer service, unsanitary conditions and mediocre workmanship that awaits them if they walk through the doors of this place. I've been twice - the first time I dismissed the poor quality and service as a probable "one time thing." Everyone is entitled to a bad day, right? My second visit proved that poor service and poor quality are a way of life here. After the rather uninviting greeting I received, I was told to sit down for my manicure at a station that was dirty and looked to have been used on another customer moments before I got there. There was fingernail dust and nail clippings everywhere. The manicurist came over to look at my nails and upon seeing that I needed my old gel polish soaked off, placed my fingers in the USED bowl of acetone that I'm guessing was from the client before me. YUK! I should've left right then, but I decided to stay and ask for some fresh acetone. After a huff and puff and some eye rolling, my request was granted. The rest of the visit was all downhill from there - shocker, I know. I left with ragged, rough nails and cuticles, the potential for a fungal infection and a deep remorse for having spent a dime there. Don't make my mistake. read more

The staff is friendly, owner remembers your name, best gel/acrylic nails ever!!! Ask for Hannah or Rose. Nails come out thin and gel lasts the whole two to three weeks.
