I walked in for a pedicure shortly before 11am on a Friday. I was helped right away. However, that is the only positive thing I can say about the experience. I can't recall the name of the pedicure I went with, but it wasn't the basic pedicure. The pedicure was $65 and I tipped 20% for a total of $78. It wasn't worth $20 let alone $78. The woman who did my pedicure rushed through it all. The polish looked terrible. It was see through in areas and on my skin/cuticles. My cuticles were not properly trimmed. The callus treatment didn't do much of anything. I was in my car leaving at 11:24. The entire thing didn't even take a half hour. I won't be back. read more

I've been going here for probably 8 months, every 2nd-3rd week. I have never had a poor experience! They keep cool food/travel YouTube videos on tv which are fairly entertaining, and they are efficent, friendly, and make my nails look great. I have a genetic condition that causes bad teeth which, until I fix them, lowers my self esteem quite a bit, and these nails help a ton, so this is quite important to me. Especially because people compliment me on them all the time. I get acrylic nails with gel polish from Jackie. He's quiet, patient, gentle, and gives me really natural looking results with his acrylic, which is hard to find in the area IMO. I won't go anywhere else! Only some of the nails I've gotten here are attached, but I have never been unsatisfied with the results. read more

I was serviced quickly but the job done was horrible. I asked for a French tip but quickly noticed they looked nothing like a French tip. I asked the tech why he was doing them the way he did. He stated that he couldn't do them any other way or else they wouldn't look right . Given that I've had this style and shape before, I knew it was possible. I didn't say anything more because, who am I to tell a nail tech how to do their job. Right? Well in the end, I paid, tipped pretty well, and left. It looked like a fifth grader did my nails. New here to Calvert from D.C. and needed a back up spot when I don't feel like taking that trek to the city. First visit was 3 weeks ago for a gel mani and regular pedi. My tech was Kelly. She's a sweetheart. She took her time on my feet and nails. I rated her 4 stars on precision. The missing star was for cutting my toenail slanted. I have to let it grow out. Also application of the gel polish at the cuticle line for my mani. It was ragged. It didn't shape my nail. So when it grew out it just looked eh'. Fast forward 3 weeks. Kelly wasn't in so I had Jackie. He is fantastic and efficient all without sacrificing precision. My nails look absolutely perfect. I had no wait time. Luck of the draw perhaps? Went on a Friday both times. I reserved my review for a few weeks just to be sure. I would highly recommend this shop based on my two visits. Let me say I'm very picky. Very. I'd like to think I'm a very nice person and in all of my yelp reviews I try to give small businesses a major benefit of the doubt. BUT THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE! No wonder there was hardly anyone in there on a Saturday. The owner is a nasty mean man...especially to his workers. He openly yells at them and they bow down subserviently. I mistakenly dropped the little plastic nail color sample palette which is plastic and unbreakable and he stopped what he was doing and came to me to ask me not to drop them again! As if I did so on purpose!! I should have left right then and there. But my daughter really wanted to get her nails done for the very first time so I stayed. I didn't want to think they didn't want to service me because I was black but I just wasn't treated as cordially as the other people coming in. Was skipped over and when telling the nail tech clearly, over and over that I wanted my young girl's toe nails to be as short and natural as possible, even showing her pictures she still insisted on doing them longer. I asked for acrylic tips so my daughter will stop picking her toenails down so low that it hurt in hopes that she will stop and not be ashamed to wear sandals. Attached are the pictures they charged me $93 for. No apology for cutting her cuticle so much it bled. And they just stuck the bloody cuticle cutter back in the drawer! Horrible and unhygienic. I plan on calling the health department on Monday to check them out. To add insult to injury when I asked them to file them down as I needed she told me she will charge me extra. When I refused the owner told the other customers that 'THEY' always don't want to pay! "THEY". Perhaps because hey people they are calling "THEY" are black like me. If you are black and you go there you are supporting a company that clearly disrespects us and only want the money they take from us happily while scornfully doing our manicures and pedicures. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AND PRAY YOU ALL WONT EITHER. * Sept 6, 2018. In reading the owners response.... those pictures of my daughters feet speak volumes. All the rest are lies from the owner. And my daughter is a high schooler, with a license to babysit let alone take great care of herself as I go across the street and to 7/11 adjacent to the building. This place looks a bit dumpy on the outside and is not fancy but Donna does great work and is really fast which I appreciate. I had a mani pedi and eyebrow wax for $57 before tip. Amazing! Donna wore a mask the whole time and since she is the only tech working there is a lot of social distancing! Make sure to make an appointment since she's the only one other than the owner. read more

I had my nails done here before my trip to South Korea. I honestly didn't expect them to last the entire trip, but they did!! I had them done around June 7th, and they lasted a little longer than July 4th. My nails were coffin shaped, had a baby blue gel polish and a sparkle polish over the top. Same with my pedicure. I believe I paid around $35 for my manicure. I'm always happy to get my nails done here because they try their best to achieve exactly what I want. A bonus is that the owners are super friendly! I had gem stones put on my nails in Korea due to the major trends, and during that process my nails didn't budge or get ruined. I've been here a handful of times and have always been impressed. Jackie and Donna are husband and wife and probably the kindest, most professional, and accommodating business owners I've ever met! Plus they're work is almost always perfect. This last time Donna fixed a botched set of pink and white I got from Andy's, which I've had nothing but bad experiences from. She hit it out of the park! Once Was All It Took.... Very unprofessional. I walked in signed the book and waited while 2 employees serviced existing customers. Another customer arrived while I was waiting. While we both waited, I accepted a call on my cell. The female employee took the customer that arrived AFTER me (signed in after me). When I attempted to bring this to her attention, employee became combative loud and unprofessional and stated because I was on the phone, I lost my place. Needless to say, I left, never to return and frequently warn friends to steer clear. Any establishment that treats consumers in such a manner does not deserve to exist. I would also caution those that have posted good reviews to be careful. I am extremely picky when it comes to my beauty routine and was pleased to know that I have found a lovely place whenever I visit my in-laws here in Calvert County. I came without an appointment and they were able to fit me in. I did not feel rushed and the detail and care taken for services performed (manicure, gel, acrylic, pedicure, and wax) was superb!! I will definitely come back! They had a steady flow of customers coming in. Some with appointments and some without but what I noticed is that each person was treated with exceptional customer service. I had my lashes done here and I would not recommend this place to anyone for this service. All was fine until the tech finished and I realized that she literally glued my eyes shut!!! After I finally got them open, I could barely KEEP them open from the burn. She kept blowing air in my eyes and I realized she was doing this with one of those baby snot suckers-gross. Please.. do your research before getting this done! This was my first time and I stupidly did not ask any questions and walked out with plastic lashes. No options were given. I had clumps of glue all over my lashes for DAYS after this and when they all finally fell off, most of my lashes were gone. I think because of the accessive amount of glue that was used. I had to wear falsies at work for at least a month after this. I would rate this a zero star if I had the option. Buyers Beware! read more

I have been coming here for about 6 months +. All the mani-pedis have been great! Long lasting color on my toes and my nails stay looking great. I do keep them short but that doesn't mean I don't want them looking well cared for! The big happy surprise tho' was the waxing! Donna was thorough, quick and experienced! Donna and her husband Jackie are extremely picky about the cleanliness and service that they present. They are very customer-service oriented, friendly, and professional. Donna does thin, graceful, and natural-looking acrylic and gel nails as opposed to the thick awkward ones you leave with at most salons. I will go no place else! read more

The space is very clean and the service is very professional and friendly. I have never had a long wait, even if they are providing services for a group, such as a bridal party. You are greeted right away and told how long the wait would be. Usually, it is no longer than 5-10 minutes. I am consistently happy with my nails and have received compliments on them from others. I really enjoy coming here. I get full gel sets and I have VERY weak nails, but I have never had a problem coming here. I normally have nail salons that make my fingers bleed or are too rough, this salon is nothing like that. I really enjoy that everything is very clean and sterile, I can see them open clean packages when doing my nails. Plus, the designs they can do are so cute! I bring a photo with me almost everytime and they match it perfectly. I am very happy with this salon. I'd highly recommend! The owners, Donna and Jackie, have the highest standards, and I am always confident in the cleanliness and professionalism of everyone who works at this salon. They are very picky about who they hire, and if their technicians aren't of the highest quality, they are not kept on. The salon has a steady stream of customers every day, but they are still able to balance their regular customers with walk ins.
