Avalon Laser is beyond amazing! I went there to get a CO2 fractional laser treatment and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about getting one. The staff was beyond wonderful and made me feel so welcomed. Lauren O. was the one who preformed the treatment on me. Lauren always made sure I was comfortable and was willing to stop the treatment at any point if I ever needed a break. Luckily I did not need to stop because it was quick and the lidocaine cream really helped to make it almost pain free. I barely felt the laser treatment at all. I highly recommend Avalon Laser due to how professional and comfortable they made me feel through the whole treatment process. From the time I walked in till the time I left, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The best part about this treatment is how amazing my skin looks and feels after the CO2 treatment. The doctor has a well trained staff and I would recommend either the San Diego or Carlsbad location as I have been to both. The services provided cover a large scope where everything can be done on site. I feel comfortable here, that the service provided is at the highest level of care and that they are not just pushing procedures but rather care about your individual needs. I did not find the doctor pompous as one reviewer stated, quite the contrary. Having interacted with him on many occasions, I found him caring and informative. Unfortunately, I was burned, literally, by an esthetician at Avalon Laser. After the peel was applied I left looking like I had a black eye and then I had a scar after the peel healed. After a few weeks,I returned to ask for help with the scar. I was told I would have to spend an additional $80, %20 discount, for a bleaching cream to lighten the scar. They told me they could not give me any better compensation since I bought the peel on groupon. Fortunately, my scar has lightened with the bleach, but I would not recommend using this business for treatment. read more

I had a great experience with Avalon Laser! I had purchased one of their Levulan Treatment Lasers, which are pretty pricey treatments but very effective for stubborn acne. I was hoping to get the treatment for neck and face for the price of one treatment but the policy was one or the other (which that goes for most places too, so I understood). I chose to do the neck which is where I had some deep bumps I wanted to get rid of and help with any future ones as well. Since my entire neck didn't need a full treatment, the treatment area wasn't a very large area. When I received the treatment they offered me an entire second treatment for free at my convenience! I was so happy because these lasers are VERY pricey as I mentioned, so for her to recognize that she wanted to make me feel like I got my moneys worth she gave me a complimentary area of my choice with no expiration. Few months later, I received the treatment and was very satisfied with the service and friendly staff! And not to mention it helped the deep bumps on my neck tremendously! I went to Avalon Laser to address fine lines around my mouth and lower face. My initial consult was informative and I was offered two treatments and the CO2 Laser seemed like the best option. I had to wait several months before I had the time and then I booked an appointment. They want a credit card at booking time and charged me the full amount $2596 (face, neck and PRP). When I got there they got me numbed up and then told me that the CO2 laser treatment was inappropriate for my skin type (I did appreciate the honesty), but then they convinced me to do another treatment, Vivace Micro-Needling, for the same price (not one of the original treatments I was offered). I come to find out later after getting home and doing some research that it takes at least 3 treatments for this kind of treatment to make a difference. I called them and asked about an additional two treatments. They said great, for an additional $2100. This comes out to about $1200 per treatment, WAY over the going price for this kind of treatment. I went in for my acne scarring to see Dr. Tirgari, just to get a consultation. I thought I would hear the same suggestion to get a laser treatment done, which is not meant for my skin tone and skin type. Thankfully, he was the first dermatologist that I have met to suggest a different course of treatment. Dr. T suggested I get a chemical peel first (Salicylic/Jessner) before I do a 3 course series of the derma pen. I usually don't commit to things so quickly by Dr. T is/was very confident that I will have "perfect skin by the holiday". I really hope so! I was pretty worried about doing the whole course of action since my skin is really sensitive and prone to breakouts. I got my chemical peel done in the beginning of October by Hillary, who explained the whole process and was very supportive before, during and well after the treatment. Hillary has been and continues to be the rock during my treatment. She's so positive, up beat, gentle and knows what she's doing :). When I'm freaking out about how my skin is reacting (your skin may be different) she has answered my questions very quickly and thoroughly. After my chemical peel I did have a few bumps arise here and there and that was because my skin was purging all of the gross things that it had stored. The whole peeling process afterwards took about 5/6 days. I looked presentable after the first 3/4 days. Just so you can plan accordingly. 2 weeks after my chemical peel I had my first dermapen appointment and it went well. Immediately after you look really red and the next day you look like you have been sunburnt. The 2nd day I was still red but definitely a lot less. I use the tinted sun screen that they sell at Avalon. My skin is definitely seeing results, but it's a slow and steady process so keep that in mind :). Also, you have to make sure you also take care of your skin, during and after the procedure. So far, I have had a good experience. I am really hoping my experience will remain positive for the next two visits I will have with dermapen. I'll keep you all posted :) P.S. Well, I thought I'd get a peel during my staycation, to look fresh. I scheduled it, went in and explained that the last time I had a peel, I didn't peel!! Tough-skinned I guess! Anyway, the same thing happened and since I needed to be peeling during my vacation and I wasn't, I called them. No call back the first time. The second time I explained the situation and the receptionist told me she would have the girl who did the "peel" call me back. No call back. So I emailed and requested a call from the office manager. No email or call back. Perhaps they were buying time for the 14 days in which I could've gotten a refund to pass! I tried to let them make it right, but they didn't. This is clearly bad business and I didn't want anyone to waste their hard earned money, or like me - the only window of time I had to be peeling!
