I had a hard time deciding to give 2 or 3 stars on this rating. I will start off saying that Daniel is very competent at what he does. I liked him and felt that I had the right guy for my work. However, for some reason he really missed the mark on the work he did for me. The best way for me to approach this review is just to give you the details of what transpired on the job he did for me. I hired him to put up 3 Tv's in my house, and one TV mounted on the outside of my house in a courtyard area. He was also hired to connect my audio receivers to speakers that were already installed throughout the house and outside in the courtyard. He also installed a security camera outside facing the driveway entrance to the property. We decided on a time for him to do the work. He was late for the appointment, but did call ahead to tell me he would be late. When he showed up he mounted my 60" TV in my living room and hooked my audio up to my speakers for my audio system then told me he would have to come back on another day to finish the job because he was overbooked that week due to the Super Bowl. He came back about 10 days later and mounted the outdoor TV and a small TV in one of the guest rooms. Again he told me he would have to come back to finish the job another day. I had to call him and hound him to get back out there to do the rest of the work. Meanwhile only 4 of my 8 speakers on the audio system were working which he said he knew, but failed to tell me. I had to call him several times to get an appointment for the rest of the work. He told me he was in a car accident and couldn't make it himself, but would send one of his guys. The other guy came out to finish the job but only got the security camera installed and strightened out the guest room TV which was lopsided on the wall from the original installation. He also couldn't finish the job. I just got exhausted of calling him to finish the job and gave up. The last TV was never mounted. I decided just to do it myself, because even though I had spent hundreds of $s he just couldn't finish the job. He also damaged some moulding in one of the bedrooms which he told me about,(but didn't repair), and said he would make up up on the price. I don't think he made anything up on the price. I don't mind paying a high price for very good work, but to have all of the miscues and hassle that I experienced on this job, I definetley overpayed, and had to finish the job myself. One other thing to mention, he sold me a sound bar for the bigger TV, and told me he would save me money by giving it to me at his cost. I found it one Amazon for $50 less than he charged me with free delivery with my prime account. Really ashame, because I think Daniel is a nice guy, and his heart is in the right place,(never felt like he was trying to rip me off), but he just seems to be a bad businessman, and despite all the other good reviews, his work is mediocre at best. We can't thank Daniel enough. We lived with a number of problems with our home theater installation for a long time. Solid estimate ... the job cost exactly what he said it would and ... in just a few hours and surprisingly fewer dollars than we expected, Daniel did the job. He installed a new (very reasonably priced) tuner, tweaked the whole setup and sound, and programmed a great remote (I had tried several and my wife hated them - and so did I). Daniel was spectacular at installing my home theatre. There were many obstacles to overcome to make the job look and sound great. Daniel is both expert at physical installation of flush mount speakers, TV, etc. but also very bright in setting up the computer components of my system. I waited a couple of months before writing the review, just to see if everything continued to work well. It does. I am very pleased with my home theatre system. It looks as good as it sounds. Daniel is a lifesaver, and he really knows his stuff. I decided last minute to have a Super Bowl party so I bought a new 60 inch samsung and tried hooking up the surround sound myself. I couldn't get any sound through cable so I called Daniel on Super Bowl Sunday. He answered his phone when no one else would! He walked me through the problems and fixed the sound issue, saving the Super Bowl party. I will always call Daniel in the future for all my audio video needs. If I can give it zero stars I will. I just want to say these people are very unprofessional RYAN& DANIEL!! They didn't finish the JOB installing security camera system!! Ryan was suppose to show up on August 3rd no show! Then we reschedule and again NO SHOW. OK 3rd time is a charm we reschedule again and ryan car broke down and couldn't make it. Ok gave him the benefit of the doubt and decided to give him another try (since my mother did pay $120 on the 1st visit) so here I am September 3rd we reschedule for 12 o'clock took the day off work and 12:30 came around and NO SHOW called ryan no answer left text no response. So I call the phone #number on yelp and spoke with Daniel he told me he was sorry and will show up at 5:30 pm and to make long story short its a NO SHOW!!! Like don't waste my time making miss hours of work. Looks like I have to find another company to finish a JOB they started!!! Oh and not to mentioned they made a hole in one of the bedrooms they did fix it and patched but I just can't believe they will act this way! The owners name is Daniel and he prompltly came to my home to give me a quote to mount a new television, install new wiring and cables, and hook up all related audio equipment Daniel also recommended newer versions of audio equipment that I should consider. All of the recommendations were very reasonable and Daniel handled all the ordering and delivery. This was much easier (and less expensive than buying through Best Buy or even Amazon as I discovered). Daniel and his team also did a great job with the installation of a 10 camera outdoor security system, all the wiring was done very cleanly and professionally. Daniel (the owner) and AVaddictions qualify as outstanding. We called Daniel in for a consult on my AV setup. I have a dedicated home theatre room and whole house audio setup. The problem was that the theatre had antiquated AV equipment, the previous owner hacked up the in-house wiring (the speaker system was not working), and the plasma in the master bedroom was poorly mounted and we had AV components/wires everywhere it seemed. Daniel came in and immediately provided expert recommendations for replacing/upgrading needed pieces of the equipment, installing AppleTV, upgrading the cabinet into an easy to use rack mounted enclosure, integrating the TV in the bedroom with the home theatre setup/equipment (thereby getting rid of components and cables in the bedroom), and setting up a whole home audio sytem that uses full internet access for streaming audio/radio or iTunes library. Daniel also completely replaced and integrated our backyard speaker for use with the audio system. He did this all within a reasonable budget given guidelines that we discussed in detail. To all potential customers: This is to inform you that AVAddictions led by Daniel Soraci is not a legitimate business. He comes out and gives you outrageous quotes, puts your work off for days if not weeks and finally comes out and does the work but not professionally at all. He installed a surround sound in my house two years ago. I still have dusts and debris and mess around my house from his sloppy and unprofessional work. Among all other expensive changes, he asked me to pay him $700 for a receiver. He never gave me the receipt and the receiver which was supposedly brand new stopped working a few months ago within two years. When I asked him to come and check it, he gave me all the excuses in the world and gave me the run around for weeks. I had to go buy another receiver and redo all the connections after he refused to replace my receiver. His work is sloppy and not professional at all. If you want to have your work last a long time and have any professional quality go with someone else. I recommended him at the beginning to several other people in my circle of family and friends and they all have the same complaint. Be aware. read more
