I am happy with the customer service and the deal I received from AV Smog. It was late in the day when I queried yelp for smog stations that were open. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by the service team. They were quick to start the service and my car was done in about 10 minutes. I highly recommend AV Smog for your vehicle's smog check. read more

Mel was awesome! Great service and very fast. He was very nice and helpful. I will definitely come back again.

Awesome place to get smog, great people, great prices, been coming here for years, definitely have recommended this place, always quick service. read more

This place is bad. They dont tell the truth. I went monday, the dyno was broken. I called tuesday they said it was fixed. I went, still broken. On top of that they opened my door into the wall and messed up the paint... and denied doing it. I watched you dummy! They should close shop to save this community from making this same mistake. read more

I was so close to my registration date I had no option but to take my lunch break and try to find somewhere to get a smog. I went to 2 different shops both estimate high wait times and prices. I circled around the area and ran into AV Smog. The location is convenient and easy to get in and out of unlike most businesses in the area. There were customers there already but an employee came right out to my car, greeted me and estimated no longer then 15 minutes. I was quoted a price, he took my paperwork, finished up with the car before me and got me in quickly. The smog took no time at all, the employee (AJ) was knowledgeable about my vehicle and additional concerns I had. He was friendly and answered my questions professionally. The price was great compared to the quotes I previously received. Most importantly, I didn't feel taken advantage of like I do at most automotive shops being a woman. There were no hidden fees or extra charges. This will be my go to place. Highly recommend! Thank you AJ and AV Smog. read more

Not impressed with this place. They attempt to be funny instead of providing quality service. I witnessed them tease a young girl into thinking she needed a new catalytic converter. In fact she was on the phone with her dad and the technician asked her to hang up and then he told her he was only joking. I told her to call her dad back and tell him it was a joke. Not a good experience. read more

Lousy place, treated me like I was an idiot! Right down the street on Ave. K they did a good job for a better price & treated me like a customer! read more

Total bate and switch! I had the $21.95 coupon but the total cost was 39 dollars because I had a SUV. Just beware!

I went today about when the place was closing and Mr Tim and another man that works there I think he is the owner were very nice and helpful with our car. Our car was over heating and didn't want to pass the smog check at first so it got to the point where they stayed until 7 till 730 helping us with our car. Very nice people. Thank you for all your help. read more

Very dishonest/unethical. They charge you for unnecessary adjustments. I now take my car to Quartz Hill smog on 50th Street west. Careful if you are someone who doesn't know much about cars or if don't speak English. They will take your money ruthlessly. This place should be investigated by consumer affairs. Good luck on your next smog check. read more

The staff was super friendly and helpful. I was unsure how this experience would go since my dad would always take my cars to get their smog checked but I was pleasantly surprised! It was quick and easy! Mel was very nice and even offered a discount. I'll definitely be going back! read more

Even though it's a dreary weathery day, the guys were fast, efficient, and very pleasant. Thank you!

I had my truck smogged at your shop with a $29.00 coupon and the end cost was $49.95. Don't know why it cost more for a pickup truck when it's the same process. Other than the higher price for a truck the service was OK........I think it's a bit of bait and switch with their coupon read more

I found this place on Yelp. My experience was great Tim & Jay really took care of me! I arrived & they took me right away I was in & out with 15 mins. I mentioned the Yelp add &received a nice discount! read more

Jay and team are the best!! No BS.. if he knows for sure it wont pass.. he tells you before you go through the process of being charged..very fair pricing!! read more

Decided to take my vehicle here for a smog check based on the good reviews and overall the experience was good. The service was quick and the staff was quite pleasant. Unfortunately, my vehicle had an aftermarket intake on it that did not meet California requirements, which resulted in a retest. Once the OEM equipment was back on, all good. Fast, friendly, no hassle, inexpensive service. Had my Crossfire smogged here yesterday after work. You don't want any trouble getting your car smogged so I checked the reviews all around this area first; this place had the best reviews and the best price! Would use them again on my next smog check. read more

Warning: I bet those are fake reviews. This place is a rat hole with the first smog check model ever. Shady place with outdated equipment.Folks don't get ripped off and stay away from here. They are taking down the real comments that are bad and putting up bogus 5 star ones. Yelp leave these real comments up for the consumers sake because isn't that what yelp is here for? read more

Most dishonest, underhanded, deceitful business I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I went to get my car smogged and called ahead to ask if the coupon on their website was still valid and whether I could just write down the coupon code instead of printing it out. The person on the phone said it would be fine, just mention the coupon when I arrive. When I arrive, both of the employees deny having any idea what I am talking about, saying they remember no phone call about the coupon. I had only called about a half hour earlier making it very unlikely they had swapped staff. Instead of the $30 I was promised with the coupon over the phone, they now wanted me to pay $58 and basically took it for granted I would just buckle and pay it because I was already there. Having called several shops for prices I figured perhaps I had went to the wrong one so I called the same number while I was sitting in their office. The second the phone rang I knew they were just lying to me. I stood up and told them I was promised $30 on the phone and I will not do it otherwise. They gave in and said it would $38 because they would need to electronically send the smog report to the DMV which would explain the extra 8 dollars. I shouldn't have even caved to that but I accepted it just to get it over with. Lastly, while I am sitting in their office waiting, the youngest of them came in and was mumbling under his breath about how 50 dollars isn't even that expensive which he clearly thought I could not hear. Not ONLY did they go out of their way to deceive me but they have the gall to whine about not getting me to fall for their scam under their breath while in the same room as me. I have never been more disgusted with a business in my life and if the BBB wasn't a huge scam itself, I would report them. read more

First time doing a smog check. I searched for a Smog STAR station and this one had the most ratings. I was helped by Mario and he was very nice and had great customer service! Do recommend! read more

I called the shop first and was given a quote of $39.99 and when I got to the shop asked what the price is and was told that it would be $69.99. When I told him I was told over the phone it was $39.99. He said for you I will give you a discount and charge you $39.99. I call this crooked. Not nice. read more

I just this smog station where i brought my mother's car to be smog tested. it is unclear why they would not honor their own coupon (the cououn is not expired, the flimsy excuse i was given was the coupon should have been presented before the work was done). What difference does it make when it was presented. My belief is that this company put out the coupons to bring in customers , only to rip them off. I will not return to this business again, neither will i recommend this to anyone i know. Thank you. read more

I only chose this business because I found a coupon online for a $29.99 smog check and needed one done quickly. When I arrived, the person having me fill out the forms barely spoke a word to me. I made sure he knew I had the coupon and it was clearly noted on the estimate I signed. About 20 minutes later, another man came into the office and told me it was done and I owed $60. I told him I had a coupon for $29.99. He said that was correct, but since my car passed it was $60. I stood up to look at the invoice he was referencing and went one item at a time - "$21.99 for the test, $8 for the certificate and what else?" "Um...nothing." And he started laughing. I can't imagine how many unsuspecting or meek customers he has swindled like that! Needless to say, I will never be going there again and will make sure to share my story with anyone that needs a smog check in my area. read more

Warning: The worst Smog place in the AV!! WARNING: THE WORST SMOG PLACE IN THE AV!!!! 1 Star because I have to put something!!!! I have taken 2 vehicles here and they failed both of them. This last time was an accident taking it there from an employee of mine. After finding out it failed and I took it to my other technician he showed me proof that they don't know what they are doing and are not performing the Smog Test to code. It clearly stated on my vehicle exactly what my technician said an that AV smog just half assed it!! Now that it failed they want you to retest!!! I confronted Mr Haddad and he told me with his bad english skills "THATS the way it is" and pretty much kicked me out after proving to him on paper that he isn't performing the Smog Test to code. I asked for compensation on my $69.95 that he charged and he laughed!! All they want is your $$$ and you to retest to pay again!!! Most horrific experience I've ever had anywhere!!! Okay so I went to get my car smogged friday. first he told me that he didn't need to hook it up to a dyno because it was too old. I told him that you can't leave my car running because it gets hot. After a few minutes he's like okay I do need to hook it to the dyno I said okay whatever just do it. Then I went to check my engine temp and it was to the freaking red line!!!! With the temp gauge on. I was yelling what the hell!!!! So I turned off my car and they acted like I was a psychopath cause I was pissed. They yelled at me saying we need to get this smog done you have to leave the car on. I was like uhm no, I'm not going to let you blow my engine up so you can smog my car. And they brought a big fan over and were like well you can turn the car on now I said no please close my hood I'm leaving. I don't want to do it anymore. He dropped my hood from the very top!!! I sat there for a few minutes to let my car cool off and they were just staring at me like uhm why are you here so I got out and pushed my car out to the parking lot and sat there for a minute and turned on the heater and my temp went down. Oh and while I was sitting there waiting for my car to cool down in their bay they turned off the fan. read more

Not happy with service on 1/9/2017. I called the friday before and asked how much they charged. I have an older car and made them aware of that. He quoted me a price of $39.95, which i didnt really believe, but went anyway. They took an hour to smog test my car. When i asked about the quote, they said $39.95 is only for 2000 and newer cars. When i asked what was taking so long? They said, oh your car needs alot of work. I said what kind of work? They said, oh, pvc valve, timing belt, you know. I just had timing belt replaced. I know they were trying to snowball me. Charged me $68.50. Will never go there again. read more

The add for a $29.95 + $8 certificate is very prominent on this locations website. Upon receiving the estimate to sign the price jumped up to $59.95. Bringing this to the technicians attention he informs us it needs to be printed. No where does it say the coupon needs to be printed. After arguing with the tech and telling him to stop the test and that he doesn't have authority to give us the price he finally adjusts the price to $29.95. This is not a reputable business. I should have read the reviews prior. They're true. read more
