Her name is Aqua, an African American lady. I was there for a simple drive license renewal . She asked several times if I had a passport which in which I responded "NO". She raised her voice in a very arrogant and defiant manner as if I didn't understand her question. She then proceeded to enter information onto the computer then when she must of realized something on my profile she expressed the follow statement "MAN YOU HAVE A DRIVERS LICENSE FOR UNDOCUMENTED PPL! " This made me feel humiliated angry and confused all at once, I find it derogatory and lack of professionalism form this employee which was rude and disrespectful. I truly hope some disciplinary actions are taken towards this individual, as she cannot be unprofessional, rude and disrespectful! My kids and everyone around us heard and that a shame SHAME ON her. All the uncomfortable looks , gestures the postures the yawning and murmuring with her African American coworker made my whole experience the worst ever. So unprofessional.

It's always scary trying to find a new automotive place. We picked Alberto's because the Yelp profile said they had a waiting room and their reviews were good and they had supposedly been in business 20 years. I think their Yelp profile needs updating because they don't have a waiting room and the father told us they've been in business 2 and a half years and the son said 4 and a half but Yelp said 20 years. So we don't know what to believe, but they did a great job! :D I don't want to give the wrong impression. We would go back there again for an oil change. We prefer supporting small businesses. I just think you need to be aware of what you're getting into so you're prepared for what the experience will be so you don't judge them too harshly.

Background and Initial Service: My vehicle's transmission was rebuilt a few months ago by a different authorized ATRA shop. Due to a recent move, the original shop authorized me to bring the car to this affiliate location, a 30-mile drive from my new home, for a warranty diagnosis. Upon drop-off on 11/18/2025, the front desk employee immediately became cold and dismissive when I mentioned the words "warranty repair." The Issue & The Refusal to Diagnose: The problem is specific and reproducible: when the car is cold, driving downhill causes the transmission to shift into what feels like neutral. Pressing the gas results in rising RPMs but no movement, forcing me to shut the engine off and restart it to re-engage the drive. After two days, I received a call informing me they could not reproduce the issue and were refusing to work on the car. I explained to Miguel that the condition requires a cold start and a specific downhill coast, asking them to try again or keep the car longer. He flatly refused any further testing, stating they were done with the vehicle. Integrity Violation and Fraudulent Documentation: Since they refused to honor the warranty, I requested a written reason for the denial of service, which is standard procedure. Miguel went to review my paperwork. When he returned, he presented a form and demanded I sign it before he would provide any written explanation. This form was an explicit waiver where I would acknowledge that the issue I claimed was not present and that their testing proved my claim was false. I refused to sign a document that was contrary to reality, as the transmission issue is demonstrably still present. The Threat and Escalation: Because I refused to sign the false waiver, Miguel refused to give me any written denial and escalated the situation. He told me he wouldn't help me anymore because I was "not a nice person." When I stated I would write an accurate review of this unprofessional experience, he raised his voice and began threatening me: Threats of litigation. Explicit threats of physical harm to myself and/or my property at my home. Threats to contact my employer to have me fired. I immediately took my keys and walked to my car, with Miguel following me out of the office, continuing to curse and issue threats. This behavior is far beyond poor customer service; it is menacing, unprofessional, and a direct failure to honor the ATRA warranty program. The shop refused to perform due diligence, attempted to force me to sign a false legal document, and threatened my physical safety. Avoid this business at all costs. It was that time of the year again when the Department of Motor Vehicles decides to send me a letter to smog my truck. Well it seems like every year it's something new whenever I go to a smog check center. They always charge more than they need to for simple 10 minute smog. Well not any more. I found a spot that charges trucks and suv's for a deal. Before I went to my usual smog check place I went on line and found the 76 Smog Check in Lancaster. They had a website and had a special. I was able to call them to make sure that it was going to cost what the coupon said and to make sure there was no funny business of tacking on an extra 20 bucks to the bill because I had a truck. Nope no gimmicks here. My experience getting smog done here was pleasant. I knew my car was going to pass as it does every year. I handed the smog guy my paperwork and he was helpful and kind. He greeted me with a smile and gave my wife and I a drink while we waited. It took about 15 minutes and before I knew it my smog was done. Passed with flying colors as I knew it would. The only difference was that I paid less for the first time in seven years. Some of the things that I noticed is that they are very professional. They have a place where you can go to too seek information about their location like the website. It was very helpful and user friendly and easy to find and print a coupon. You don't see too many smog shops with websites nor would they charge 50 bucks flat for a truck. And if they do have a coupon good luck trying to find it or get it honerd properly. The part that I enjoyed the most was not having to pay the usual 80 to 90 dollars to have my truck smogged. They seemed really fair as far as pricing goes and they didn't fuddle me with stupid fees that other smog check stations take advantage of. It was a flat rate price out the door and nothing more. I brought my car there today for a smog check. I had such a great experience! The staff was extremely nice, they were practically falling all over themselves to give the best customer service. I was offered a place to sit and a free fountain drink. It only took about 15 minutes before the tech came and told me that my car had passed smog. I was so surprised that it took so little time. I was very happy with the efficiency of the service, with the courteous staff and I will definitely be going there again the next time I need to smog my car. Yesterday, I went to 4 different places, none of whom would do a smog check. One place closed early without explanation, another, the smog guy had the day off, another sent me to a different location, and there wasn't a soul in the open test bay, with equipment and merchandise all over the place.
