The apricot tarte wasn't too sweet and it really let the apricot flavor shine. The pistachio eclair was sweeter but not too heavy nor the frosting or cream inside grainy/sugary. The tart sweetness of raspberries on top helped brighten the pistachio cream. The choux pastry for the shell was light and airy. Their pasteis de nata was also a nice surprise. After eating many pastel de nata in Portugal earlier this year, I can genuinely say Antoinette's version is right up there with the best of them! Perfectly flakey buttery crust and a lightly sweet egg custard cream....so good!

I couldn't taste the coffee and I had to beg for some sugar. They gave us one tiny sugar package each, I guess they were trying to save sugar for the pastries. Stick to the pastries, pass on the coffee. We threw away the two "cappuccinos". I'd still go just for their extremely good pastries and ignore the poorly trained staff.

Here's my advice: Open up your Yelp app and open your world to local restaurants like Chez Stefs. Even with Michelin star restaurants around the corner, this was hands down one of the most perfect lunches I've ever had. The place was full, yet not overly crowded. There was one server and one chef on duty, that's it! The restaurant walks the line of rustic and quaint. Our server explained the rotating menu to us in English. The wine selection was extensive, but we opted against it because we weren't quite in the mood. The lady ordered the Salmon Risotto and I ordered the Duck Breast. After one bite, we looked at each other and smiled. The sheer magnitude of the achieved flavors were nothing short of marvelous. The duck, cooked to perfection, topped with rich mushroom sauce, paired with creamy potatoes, resulted with the ideal conclusion to our time in Europe. I can't emphasize enough how flawless this lunch was. Seriously, the word perfect gets thrown around far too often. But, but... this was the ideal French lunch.
